Is it normal for phone updates to install apps? Posted: 28 Jun 2020 03:39 AM PDT Probably a stupid question but I updated my phone today and now I have two new apps. Is this normal? [link] [comments] |
How to set up a tablet for my tech illiterate grandma? Posted: 28 Jun 2020 05:48 AM PDT I have a Samsung Tab S2 and want to gift it to my grandma so we can make video calls. Problem is... She has absolutely zero knowledge on anything tech related, let alone smartphones and tablets. Figuring out the TV remote was relatively troublesome. I am going to buy her a sim card (it's cheap where she lives) and the only thing I want her to have is Skype (or any simple video call app). How do I set it up the most easy way possible? How do I teach her? [link] [comments] |
BATTERY CHARGES WAY TOO FAST (19% TO 100% IN ABOUT 2 MINUTES) Posted: 28 Jun 2020 03:49 AM PDT I recently had to change the battery in my note 8 because by the time it reached 39% it would rapidly discharge despite being on a charger. Since I got the new battery, it's bee charging waaaay too fast. Like by the time it would reach 65% Id blink and its at 100%. I tried calibrating the battery (draining it till it shuts down, then charging till 100% and turning it back on). That made things worse. It went from 19% to 100% on just 2 minutes. What's going on? Is the new battery the problem?? [link] [comments] |
Game didn't get installed but I lost my storage space Posted: 28 Jun 2020 04:40 AM PDT Yesterday I tried to install a game, Life After. The game is about 4gb big and I had enough soace on my phone. I tried installing the game, but it didn't get installed. I did however lose the 4gb the game needed. Because it didn't get installed I don't know how to delete it. Can someone tell me how I can get that storage back? I have a Samsung Galaxy A8 if that matters. [link] [comments] |

How do I download songs from Google Play music app to my phone storage. Posted: 28 Jun 2020 06:44 AM PDT I bought some songs, I can play them on the Google Play music app but that's not the media app I like to use. The songs don't show up on my other media apps or anywhere in my phone storage that I can find. I don't want the songs I purchased to be stuck and only connected to google play. How do I fix this? Posted: 28 Jun 2020 11:53 AM PDT I have a LG V35 ThinQ on AT&T and have had it for 2 years now. Only problem before this problem was it was cracked and had a small circle of dead rainbow pixels. It was stuck on Android 8 Oreo for a while until I finally got the chance to upgrade to Android 10. Before Android 10, file sharing worked PERFECTLY. I would use it to share files to Discord, Instagram and most importantly, my feature phones in my phone collection via Bluetooth. Then, I upgraded to Android 10. My previous theme didn't work, that's ok. Everything looked different, that's ok. But then, when I went into Gallery and tapped on a picture and pressed the share button, the share screen will appear for a split second then kicked me out of the Gallery app onto the home screen. I was upset. I then tried going into File Manager and pressed the share button on a MP3 song. Again, the share screen appeared for a split second and then booted me out of the File Manager app onto the home screen saying "Android System keeps crashing". Thankfully, if I go into Discord and click the picture button then click on the enlarge button that brings up the Choose a application screen, it works perfectly fine. However, now, Bluetooth file sharing doesn't work due to the file sharing screen crashing. I need the file sharing screen to work so that I can use Bluetooth file sharing with my feature phones again! I have tried restarting the phone. Should I put the phone into safe mode? What should I do to fix this problem? [link] [comments] |

Android earphones that fit like Airpods? Posted: 28 Jun 2020 11:23 AM PDT Hello, everyone, I recently switched from ios to android. As an iPhone user I also have 2nd generation AirPods, which I love more than anything else. What I like most about them: -they don't stick in your ear, they "hang" on your ear -they do not suppress outside noise I have already tried the Galaxy buds pro and I do not like them. I understand that they are technically the superior headphones, but I have to readjust them in my ear every 10 minutes because they slip out little by little. They also suppress noise from outside a little bit. In short, the Airpods are the best headphones I have ever worn in terms of fit and low noise suppression. My question to you: Are there convincing headphones for Android that have similar features? [link] [comments] |
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T's UI lags Posted: 28 Jun 2020 11:01 AM PDT I googled my issue tons of times but didn't actually ever find anything regarding this specific model, so I thought that the only way to tidy my ideas up was that I could give it a try here. So, one of the first things I noticed at the very first startup of my Redmi was a laggier experience than I expected on any kind of animations and scrolling on any kind app. It isn't such a big deal, but even all these little performance instabilities seriously can stress me out. Luckily, it doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't, but I just keep opening the SAME apps, not something that requires higher phone resources. I state that the overall phone's performance shouldn't be bad at all. It has a storage capability of 64 GB (and currently it's around 50 GB free, so I always keep it flat and clean with both applications and cache) and 4 GB of RAM, which is likely to be around 70% full, but here are some of my doubts: why is my old Redmi Note 7 much smoother even if the percentage of full RAM is kind of the same? It's even 3 GB capable and 32 GB storage capable. That's why I'm so confused about this issue on a newer model with better specifications. Other technical informations about the Redmi Note 8T are rather good as well. Also, I tried flashing a custom ROM on this one to see if the problem's basis lay in the MIUI. It wasn't that. Here comes the main and obvious question: what is this, and how do I potentially solve it? [link] [comments] |
Phone vibrates but there is no notification. Virus? Posted: 28 Jun 2020 10:28 AM PDT I have a Moto G7 Plus running the lastest Android 9. Occasionally my phone vibrates twice (as if getting an email notification) but there is nothing visual on it. I looked to some forums and put the Notifications Log widget on my home screen to see what is trying and failing to notify me of something. Picture of Log It shows up with a bunch of random JPGs that I definitely have not authorized to download. Could this be a virus? I'm not sure what to think or how to fix this. [link] [comments] |
Anyone Using a Sprint LG V50 on T-Mobile? Posted: 28 Jun 2020 10:22 AM PDT So is anyone using a Sprint LG V50 on T-Mobile Service? Thinking about getting one Brand New with warranty on eBay for $360. However I hear that VoLTE and WiFi calling don't work and that it suffers from slower Network speeds even on 4G LTE. I don't really care if it works with 5G or not. I currently have a T-Mobile LG V30 and thinking about upgrading. I'm torn between a LG V40 and V50. Don't really care to get the V60 for various reasons. I can get a new T-Mobile V40 for about $200-300 or used/mint/good/great cond for about $150-200. I also heard from a few people that the V40 suffers from poor battery life, something to do with the 845 SD. I guess the V30 & V50 didn't have this issue? Lastly I heard that with root you can fix VoLTE and WiFi calling but I don't think the Sprint or VZW V50 are currently Root able. Someone also said that once TMO & Sprint merger is complete that the V50 VoLTE and WiFi calling may work on the V50. What you guys think, get a V50 to be more future proof or be safe and get a TMO V40 which I know will work. Thanks and have a wonderful day!! God's Blessings and Stay Safe and Healthy 🙏❣️❣️ l Matthew 6:31-34 New Living Translation 31 "So don't worry about these things, saying, 'What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?' 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God[a] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. 34 "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today. [link] [comments] |

No Samsung Cloud in settings on S10+ Posted: 28 Jun 2020 08:49 AM PDT I'm attempting to make sure that everything is backed up properly before I factory reset my phone. I've already made a backup to Google Drive but many of the guides I've seen recommend using Samsung Cloud but there's no Cloud app on my phone and it doesn't even show up in settings. I normally wouldn't sweat something like this too much but I have some important personal files in my Samsung Notes app that I really need to make sure get backed up properly These are some screencaps of what the accounts and backup section in settings looks like for me https://imgur.com/a/LqxrMng [link] [comments] |

Cannot press location prompt in Chrome Posted: 28 Jun 2020 08:03 AM PDT Hi all, I've been having this issue for a while now, I'm not able to press allow/deny on Chrome when the prompt shows. I have tried uninstalling applications which draw over others (Darker Pro and Lastpass) but I'm still not able to use either option. I'm on the latest version I can get (15/06/20 83.0.4103.106)and I've made sure I'm not running a Beta version. Anything you can suggest? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Way to disable device from learning words? Posted: 27 Jun 2020 01:58 PM PDT Hello I have an Android Galaxy S8 and I use the stock Samsung keyboard. Is there a way to disable it from learning words? I would like to keep predictive text on, but don't want the phone to learn any new words or grammatical shortcuts/ etc. I'm aware I can long press and have the device "unlearn" a word, but I want it to stop learning new words altogether and just use the default dictionary. Thanks in advance for any help. [link] [comments] |
Galaxy s9+ not booting correctly Posted: 28 Jun 2020 07:33 AM PDT So the thing is i installed lineageOS 17.1 on my Galaxy s9+ Duos but it didn't recognize my sim card anymore. When i tried to go back to Samsung Stock ROM i stumbled into a sort of problem ... After flashing the stock firmware (following this guide) my phone got stuck in a boot loop. I managed to get into download mode and into standard recovery mode (not twrp since not installed anymore). Now is the question, how do i get my phone back to booting normally? [link] [comments] |
Google app not starting on my OnePlus 3. I need help! Posted: 28 Jun 2020 07:12 AM PDT Whenever I start the Google app, it crashes immediately. It's been this way for 6 months now. I tried everything. Cleared data and cache, left the beta program, but can only get it working if I uninstalled the updates. I want to have the latest version. Is there any way to fix these? Posted: 28 Jun 2020 06:23 AM PDT Well this one's a weird one. So I was listening to some music in bluetooth headset while putting the phone in charger. I slept and forgot to turn of the charger(it's a 27 watt fast charger). When I woke up it was at 75% still charging icon showing but stuck there for long after I saw the battery curve with a flat line. Surprisingly it started charging again at normal speed without I doing anything at all! So, what exactly made it stop midway and continue later on after I turned on the screen? (charging sign was still showing) [link] [comments] |

A process called 10170 recent started appearing in my data usage. Any ideas what this is? Posted: 28 Jun 2020 05:56 AM PDT This process 10170 recently started appearing in my data use lists (both wi-fi and mobile data), and I am not sure what it is. MalwareBytes did not flag it, and I cannot see it with CCleaner to remove it. Multiple searches on Google and DuckDuckGo reveal nothing, since the process name is so vague. Does anyone know what this might be, or if it might be a dependency for something else? Any help is appreciated. Next steps will be to backup and factory reset unless it turns out I'm jumping at shadows. Before doing that, I'd like to find out if this is something to be concerned about and how one might prevent it in the future, if possible. [link] [comments] |
