| Answering WhatsApp/Signal calls via Bluetooth Posted: 04 Jun 2020 11:49 AM PDT Making and answering calls on phone works well via Bluetooth, i.e. Single press to answer / hang up. Press and hold to redial last call. But none of this works for WhatsApp / Signal. When there's a call on one of these apps, pressing the answer button does nothing. Does anyone know of a workaround? | Touchscreen stops working when rotated Posted: 04 Jun 2020 11:42 AM PDT Hi all, Got a P20 lite and it was working fine until a couple days ago. Essentially the problem is how it sounds. When I rotate the screen the touchscreen stops working practically completly. I say practically as if I tap everywhere I get a tiny response but not enough to even press the home button. The thing is the screen is completely fine when it's held in portrait so I'm very confused. If anyone can offer advice it'd be much appreciated. -w [link] [comments] |

I just downloaded it onto my ipad for ease of access and noticed the majority of the themes on iPhone aren't available on android, does anyone know if I'm missing something or if they're just not available? I accidentally deleted the phone dialler as well which is a real whoops. I need a secure nice looking phone dialler app or at least a way to reinstall the huawei one plz. | Android Phone Stuck in Fastboot Posted: 04 Jun 2020 10:18 AM PDT I have an LG Stylo 4. This is cross-posted, but I haven't gotten a response yet. My phone froze and crashed two days ago. I pulled it off the charger(that was connected to my PS4) and turned it back on using the power key, and it gave me a black screen with some white text in the corner. It said Fastboot Mode. I had no clue what that even meant, so I started googling. I can follow basic, clear cut instructions, so I figured it shouldn't be too difficult. However, that rabbit hole was leading me very quickly into phone modding territory, and the most I've done to my Android is download a new theme from an app I'd downloaded on the Play Store. It led also me to a lot of YouTube videos, and a lot of sketchy looking sites to download things like drivers, and software, and confusing instructions about using command prompts. I found one tutorial that looked promising, that instructed me to download something called Minimal ADB and Fastboot Tool, and I did my best. I THINK I have the software downloaded correctly. (If I don't, would anyone be able to "Explain Like I'm Five" me through the setup of Minimal ADB and Fastboot Tool?) I have a windows 10 laptop, and a good connector for the phone/laptop. I followed the instructions on a few youtube videos for ADB and Fastboot Tool, and found that "fastboot devices" picked up my phone(the numbers matched the ones on my screen), but "fastboot reboot" didn't do anything. I did it multiple times. In the youtube videos I watched, running this command made the phone in the video reboot, but mine did nothing. ADB gave me a "devices 'null'" error. I looked through the command prompts, but nothing else seemed to really be what I wanted, or that it would do anything outside the realm of destroying my phone. Also a dead end. After finding nothing on how to troubleshoot either of these issues, I kind of gave up. I decided I'd try to let my phone just die naturally, with the hopes that I could stick it on the charger(that isn't connected to any kind of device like a laptop or a PS4), and I could try to boot it into recovery mode from there. However, as soon as it gets any charge at all, it just boots back up into Fastboot Mode, where I am effectively stuck. I know it's a long shot, but would anyone be able to point me in the right direction? I called a phone repair shop, but he kept calling Fastboot mode "recovery mode", which is not the same thing. He also said he may have to wipe the phone entirely, which is not ideal as it has photos of my dog that passed away recently on it, and I hadn't had a chance to back them up. Thanks in advance. And I don't know if this is the right place to ask stuff like this, but, I need help the most right now. So, I downloaded multiple games from a site. These were not games that you can find in a playstore, the size for each app was above 500mb. So I downloaded it via MEGA, some Installed successfully and others don't. Since I finished playing them all and deleted it, my Internal Storage was more than it used to be (like way more, it's like i didn't even deleted those file). I was using about 22GB of storage before, but now it is at 29.5GB out of 32GB. How can I clean these files that i cannot find? Any tips and help from you smart people will help my stupidity in tech :) And yes I do clean my cache manually and regularly. Again any help would be appreciated, if there are some crucial information missing I apologize. | Help! Stagefright exploit problem. Posted: 04 Jun 2020 12:12 AM PDT I received a 8kb mms which says "no subject" from a number that I do not know. Being the tech illiterate that I am, I tried research what it could have been then I found an exploit called stagefright. I am using a samsung note 9 and considering my device is modern and is still supported with patches every month.. could the exploit persist through the security of my device? Am I safe? And what does the exploit actually do to my phone? Though after receiving the mms, I did not notice any unusual activities occurring on my phone. Not even lag or battery draining problems. The mms also indicate an expire date, does that mean whatever is being saved by my auto retrieve will just be deleted? I did not open the mms and just deleted the whole message. Thank you. | Playback pausing issue with stock music player Posted: 04 Jun 2020 01:32 PM PDT So on my old phone a few months ago I noticed that my music from the phones stock music app would randomly stop or pause at the end of a song, and would start up again with the next song by hitting play. I figured the phone was just old and low on RAM and storage. I now have a brand new LG v60 and the problem persists. I notice it on my Bluetooth speaker, Bluetooth car radio and even on my headphones which are wired. Obviously there is no issue with this phones RAM or storage. I've scoured the web for answers but keep coming up with the same "solutions" that don't apply, so I thought i would ask here. Again, its totally random. Sometimes more frequent and others less so. And it only happens between songs. So a song will finish, but the next won't start until I press play again. I only use my phones music player, I don't stream. | Can't access recovery mode on Pipo M9 Pro Posted: 04 Jun 2020 01:07 PM PDT A friend of mine asked me to recover some photos and possibly remove the password that they had forgotten or format the device. While I did get the files, when I tried to enter recovery mode to factory reset it it would start booting but then make a sound and close without reaching recovery. How can I possibly format it? Snapchat, app updates, google notifications, and most importantly text messages. Of course, text messages carry a specific type of urgency and I want to know if I have received a text vs if I have gotten a separate notification, but I cannot find a way in the settings to create unique notification sounds for specific apps. It boots to the setup pages and only seems to have stock Google apps installed. Is there a way to check for malware that doesn't involve unlocking or flashing? If I find out what image is on there, can I dump that via ADB and compare the checksum to a known good image, or is there a better way? I've been using my earbuds everyday with my Mac and my phone. However, since yesterday, my right earbud's sound has gotten worse (The sound is piercing and quieter) I tried balancing the sound in the sound settings so it was more concentraded on the right side. | Please help! Galaxy Tab A 8.4 Bluetooth non responsive Posted: 04 Jun 2020 10:21 AM PDT I'm no hacker but I know my tech. I've been using using Android for almost a decade, and have never encountered this issue. The Bluetooth setting seems to completely stop working when connecting to my Dualshock 4. I tried connecting to other devices and they worked. They were audio devices though. I don't have any extra ps4 controllers. So it might just be a serious compatibility issue between tablet and controller, or the tablet is faulty and needs to be replaced. I know it's not the controller because I've used it in a few phones and tablets in the past and never had a problem. Have a great day [link] [comments] |
