Does anyone have the old Resurrection Remix Boot animation? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 10:38 AM PDT Few years back, there was this almost NFS looking, funky RR boot animation. I really liked it and have been searching for it. Does anyone have it? [link] [comments] |
Apps are not allowed to disable my bluetooth Posted: 29 Jun 2020 12:19 AM PDT Hi guys, I'm using a Huawei Mate 20 Lite with Android 10 and I have a problem with apps that are supposed to turn off my bluetooth. On old phones I was using the app "Smart Connect" which can be configured to turn off bluetooth after a certain time (I need this, because otherwise my bluetooth speaker doesnt turn off at night and wastes battery life). Now on my Huawei Mate 20 Lite with Android 10, the Bluetooth does not automatically turn off anymore, but instead I get a popup saying that the app is trying to turn off bluetooth and I have to confirm it (which I can't do because at that point I am already sleeping). Is there any way I can configure Bluetooth to be turned off at a certain time with my phone? Here's a screenshot of the app with the popup (albeit in German): https://i.imgur.com/7TKVbVo.jpg Thank in advance! [link] [comments] |
App to record occurrence of symptoms in the context of un-diagnosed illness Posted: 29 Jun 2020 09:28 AM PDT context: I have an un-diagnosed illness since October 2019 which has a lot symptoms. Theses appear a lot (in my bad days, 50 times a day). I've done numerous exams, and seen many specialists. They can't find what is the root of my problem... Also this is my first time using reddit, so... why: I know that they are some app out there that record health habit and problems. But my issue with these app is that target certain type of problems... (and, for those problems, they are probably perfect.) However, for people like me, who have very specific diseases that requires recording of very specific triggers, these app are not suited at all. They don't help us. What is required in my case, and for the other people who suffer "rare" illness is a general-purpose app that allows us to record whatever makes sense for our specific problem. what: So to put it simply : I would like to see if there is a pattern in these triggers. I've been looking for quite some time now, an app to help me log my triggers and symptoms by doing exactly this :
Thx a lot to whoever is willing to help me [link] [comments] |
Simple Mobile APN Issue-want to switch carriers Posted: 29 Jun 2020 08:33 AM PDT I'm having major issues with the APN on my Motorola MOTO G6 phone. Simple Mobile told me that it needs to be set on NAME:T-Mobile APN:wap.tracfone however the phone is automatically setting itself to the built-in setting of NAME:SIMPLE_MMS APN:simple, which is what it always used to be set to until I re-upped this month, and I can't do anything about it. When I call Simple Mobile it's impossible to get anyone on the phone that can understand what I'm talking about. One Simple Mobile rep told me it's because I have a TracFone, but I purchased my phone from a generic cell phone store and it's not a TracFone branded phone, it's a Moto G6. Then when Simple Mobile sends a signal to refresh my phone, the APN automatically resets to SIMPLE_MMS and I have to manually switch it back to TracFone. Obviously it's the same company, but I have a SIMPLE Mobile SIM card and I paid for a simple mobile account. Can anyone explain what's going on and if not does anyone have a better carrier with unlimited 4G for $50 a month or less because I'd love to leave Simple Mobile! Thanks [link] [comments] |
Is there an app that can tell me when my mic or camera is being accessed? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 09:42 AM PDT Any indication is okay. Maybe a status bar icon or a notification. My phone is rooted so any apps that need root permissions are fine. [link] [comments] |

Free open-source apps to remotely log sensor data? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 09:53 AM PDT I want to use an old android phone (not rooted) as a remote air pressure sensor to track fairly rapid changes in pressure (time scale of seconds, >1 Hz would be even better) in real time. What's the easiest way to do that? Ideal situation would be a web server on the phone that I can log into via WiFi that will show me the current value, a graph of recent readings, and have a "download" button to pull out the timestamped raw data. Then I could also have the phone make a browser connection to itself and displaying the data live onscreen as well. On an SBC I'd do it with PHP but not sure a) if you can do that on Android and b) if you can whether PHP would be allowed to see the sensor data on an un-rooted phone. If that's not possible, something that would provide the current value and the graph on the screen of the phone, and log the data for later extraction would be second-best. Does anything like that exist? Thanks [link] [comments] |

LG v60 not Finding 2.4GHz networks Posted: 29 Jun 2020 09:00 AM PDT My brand new LG v60 isn't finding any 2.4ghz networks - anyone know of a fix? It is finding my 5.0GHz just fine, but none of the 2.4ghz networks are showing up at all. [link] [comments] |
Use Android phone as micro sd card reader? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 12:37 PM PDT Long story short: How can I use my phone as a proper sd card reader OR register my sd card inside my phone as a disk so I can edit the properties? I can give more information on request. [link] [comments] |
Camera starts shaking when recording video. Posted: 29 Jun 2020 12:31 PM PDT I got the Galaxy S20 soley because of the camera quality. But whenever I go to the video camera, the video starts shaking. It's not a lot of shake, but it's very noticeable. I've tested it many different ways and it 100% is the phone. When the camera is on normal camera mode it's fine, but switch to video and it starts shaking. Anyone experienced anything similar and have a fix? [link] [comments] |
Texts getting dropped from iPhone to android? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 12:25 PM PDT I've been using a Pixel 2 for a few years now and have texted with iPhone users the entire time without issue. However, recently messages are getting dropped from one (and near as I can tell, just one) number. They're texting from an iPhone XR. The dropped texts seem to have no pattern, as I have gotten photo messages, emojis, and long texts from them without issue. Occasionally, though, a message just won't arrive. Is there a setting I may be missing that could be causing these dropped messages? We're both on AT&T, both devices are stock and using stock messaging apps. [link] [comments] |
Huawei p20 pro Facebook Draining Battery Posted: 29 Jun 2020 11:53 AM PDT Hi All, I have the HuaweiP20Pro Facebook seems to all of a sudden be draining my battery like mad. I used to get a full day charge and use my phone moderately between say 7am and 6pm and still have 30 to 40 percent of my battery left. Now I get to 5pm and I'm sitting at 14% battery. According to my usage Facebook is taking up over 50 percent of my battery power. I've not changed any of my setting Ive always had location services turned on. I've always had auto play video on. So I don't think it is that. I wonder if the app has done an update and something has changed? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks [link] [comments] |

Is it possible to use Recent Apps to close all open apps less the one I want to stay open? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 07:15 AM PDT I have a scenario, or many, where I end up opening a ton of apps, and later on want to close them all at once, but keep 1 or 2 open. As an example, I use WhatsApp at home, and as we all know you cannot use the web portal without the app on your phone being on. So ideally I would have wanted to be able to use the Recent Apps feature of Android to close all apps, less say those selected as 'keep on.' And then if I really wanted to close them, I could then go into Recent Apps and manually close them. f Is there perhaps an app would allow me to script such a task, or any other solution? I would prefer those that do not need to root my brand new Galaxy A71 5G Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 29 Jun 2020 10:53 AM PDT Is there a way to edit the biometric lock timeout? It seems that every 48h the phone requires pin/password/pattern to unlock when using the biometric lock. I'd like to edit this to 24h or even 12h. Can it be done? Running android 9. [link] [comments] |
Question about volume control with headphones Posted: 29 Jun 2020 10:32 AM PDT Today my phone started adjusting the volume by itself when I plugged in my ear buds. After a quick Google search I discovered that this is a common problem caused by the phone thinking it's getting volume instructions from the ear buds and one of the solutions offered was to download an app that locks the volume into place, and so far this solution has worked. My question is why did this start happening today? I've had these earbuds for over a year and never had this issue. Furthermore my earbuds do not have a volume control built in. What could have happened to my earbuds (or phone) for it to suddenly start doing this today? Also is there a built in option to just turn off volume control from headsets? It seems like with this issue being as common as it is that Android would just add a toggle switch to turn off the ability to adjust the volume via headsets or earbuds. [link] [comments] |

Help with Google Assistant, News, and Bluetooth Posted: 29 Jun 2020 10:24 AM PDT Pixel 4XL here. So this is a weird one. Is there a setting somewhere, where I can turn off where once the phone reconnects to my car via bluetooth, it continues where it left off with the news? Here is what I typically do: Get in car, start it, Phone connects to bluetooth and I say "Hey Google, play the news" and it launches a built in podcast or something and plays the latest news headlines over the radio. This is all fairly typical, no big deal. But even after closing out the news app, when i get back in my car after work, it just starts playing where it left off, even with the app not even launched. I can't find any type of setting to tell it not do this. It happens with another app to, a sleep "noise maker" where I listed to the rain while i sleep. I kill the app when i wake up, and every now and then, when I get in my car and it connects, it is just playing, even though the app is closed. This is driving me nuts, because I typically need to either open the app and close it again, turn bluetooth off completely, turn my radio off or start playing something else to get it to stop. Any thoughts? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jun 2020 10:19 AM PDT Hi everyone, I recently got tired of Google photos because of the duplicates and no option to really organize albums based on my preferences. I prefer to store things locally on an SD card. Are there any galleries out there that are worth looking into? I prefer if they have built in function to crop, organize (manually, I don't mind), and edit photos. Should I ever get a new phone (won't happen for a couple years, God willing) my photos will be fine as long as the new phone has an SD card slot, correct? Thanks [link] [comments] |

Restoring from Google drive not working? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 08:31 AM PDT Hey everyone so I have a Huawei P20 pro. My fingerprint sensor just kind of stopped working out of nowhere so I tried a factory reset after making sure I had backed up to google drive. Lo and behold now during the set up stage when I enter my google account info it shows no back ups found. Just to make sure I wasn't wrong the first time I checked the google drive app on the phone via back ups section and the back up is right there along with all the info I backed up but I have no way to restore it on my phone since google's designed things to be done with the set up. I can get my contacts and photos were on google photos but other than that I'm completely screwed. Please any advice would be appreciated [link] [comments] |
Is running Android 7.1.1 still safe? Posted: 28 Jun 2020 12:06 PM PDT I have older family members who are on devices which cannot be updated past 7.1.1 I personally am running a Google Pixel 3A because of its long-term support and camera. I have encouraged them that this might be a little too old but I'm not really sure if it's really a problem. [link] [comments] |
Facebook Messenger Emoji (No Root) Posted: 29 Jun 2020 01:41 AM PDT Hello, I was wondering if there is any way to replace my Facebook Messenger emojis with my system ones on an unrooted android device. I would root my device if I could, but unfortunately the bootloader cannot be unlocked unles I pay for it. If someone has a solution to my problem with the Facebook Messenger emoji please help.
