Where/how to market a non-traditional game app? Posted: 02 May 2020 08:46 AM PDT Folks, I'm looking for some advice regarding the best places to market my mobile gaming app... I've just relaunched the game that was my very first app from 2018. It's not like your traditional gaming apps - there's no monsters to slay, no platforms to jump onto, no candy to crush etc. It's just a simple dashboard that you press buttons on. Because it's not a traditional type of game it's difficult to sell to folks when they first come across it. Those who I've introduced the game to personally think it's great and end up competing between their friends for the highest scores. Once they get the hang of it they just zone out and play, although because of the nature of the game it can lead to mild anxiety and rage as you approach your current highscore and then completely loose it. The highscore on the Apple leaderboard is 222. I've no idea what it is on the Android leaderboard as my dev phone has bricked. But, as it's not a traditional type of game, when folks initially see it they dismiss it offhand and move on. Seeing as the vast majority of Reddit subreddits don't allow for self-promotion of your own games, where and how would be the best place to get some traction for this game - are there places on Reddit (other than r/playmygame) that allow for game creators to post their games? I'm thinking of more obscure subreddits that cater to those who like a challenge or rage etc I'm guessing the mods don't allow for posting your own games here, so I'll drop a link to the game in the comments of requested. [REQUEST] An immersive mmorpg Posted: 02 May 2020 12:20 PM PDT Hello guys, I am a hardcore android gamer and it really pisses me off to see poorly made money grabbing mmos take over the market. If you would be so kind to recommend some of your favorite mmorpg games, I would be eternally grateful. Some personal preferences are: 1. 3D vast open world 2. Free camera and player movement 3. No autoplay or auto complete quest idiocricy 4. Wide selection of weapons/outfits/armors 5. Unfortunately he has a Huawei Y7 Prime 2017, and it's under the minimum system requirements, which is at least an S7. Because of this, the game can't even be downloaded.
