| I found my dead brother's phone Posted: 02 May 2020 04:45 AM PDT My brother (25M) was schizophrenic, and he killed himself last year, unexpectedly. He was very paranoid and hid most of his life from all of us, even me, despite living with me. This made closure really hard - we had no pictures of him as an adult, aside from his facebook profile picture, we didn't know who his friends were, and most importantly, we don't know if he left us any suicide letter. He certainly didn't leave a hard copy, and I checked his laptop - nothing. We couldn't find his phone, until today. He died in my parents garage, and the phone was under a cabinet there. We'd really like to be able to unlock his phone to see if there is anything that can give us closure. It's an android with a pattern lock. Can anybody provide any advice? [link] [comments] |

I was looking for an application that will email me a notification every 3 minutes, as the unit has wifi. A big reason is the price justification... I feel like so much effort and energy at Apple goes toward the cameras that they ignore what they could invest into screens/performance/refresh rates/etc. Now I'm NOT looking for an anti Apple rant, I'm looking for pro-android suggestions. Amazing screens/design/gaming potential/performance /strong battery lives- those get me going. I have a budget up to $900, but would prefer to be closer to $600. What phones would you suggest? | Posted: 02 May 2020 02:52 PM PDT Currently on my old Galaxy SJ7 typing this. So I have a Galaxy S9, I would be typing this on it! But the issue it is having is why I am here. So since I've updated it, it says "couldn't authenticate connection" and takes about half an hour to 9 hours to connect to any wifi network, whether it be home wifi or work, or even wal mart wifi. | Video play on phone and on tv with sound Posted: 02 May 2020 02:10 PM PDT Hi! I have a xiaomi mi a1 phone and a xiaomi mi box s (with chromecast support). I wanna to play video with sound on tv and on phone too at same time (so audio and video "cloning" on both devices) I tried the cast mode with vlc and xplayer on my phone, but then it transfers both the picture and the sound to tv, no picture or sound on phone. I tried screen mirroring too, but phone have no sound when played the video. Its not a correct solution. Exist some special app for this, or android system can basically know this things just the settings are wrong? What app do you recommend for it? Posted: 02 May 2020 02:09 PM PDT So, I'm trying to find a fully CDMA compatible phone and my automatic go-to is GSMArena Phone Comparison and Phone Finder. Well... how dafaq do I decipher which of those "4G Bands" are for CDMA and if the phone is fully compatible with Verizon? -i.e. I have a Xiaomi Mi A2 that is HALF compatible with Verizon for data only and had to activate the SIM using a fully CDMA phone first. But on the damn website, it DOESN'T tell me that! Unless y'all have a different website to use, I need help deciphering GSMArena's way of listing those "bands". Thanks! [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 02 May 2020 01:53 PM PDT The phone is a Galaxy Note 5, and despite its age, it has never given me grief. I was watching an Instagram Live a couple of hours ago, and it simply paralyzed with an awful noise and wouldn't respond to the touch of the power or home buttons, until it turned off completely on its own after about 10-15 seconds. Now it doesn't respond to any of the hard reset combinations, doesn't respond to attempts at charging it (doesn't even turn on the red light) or connection to the pc. I've tried pretty much every troubleshooting option I've seen on the internet. Does anybody have any idea of what happened and what else I could try? [link] [comments] |

But I have 3,8 gb of Ram and not 4 so Google Play says my device isnt compatible. Maybe it wont run, but I´d like to try it. Is there any way to bypass the version scan (At best without root, but I can try with it. I just dont know/ found a good guide to root)? I once saw a video in which someone did this and ended up with the message "This app might not be compatible with your device" but could install it - sadly I cant find that video anymore... | Posted: 02 May 2020 12:47 PM PDT Having an issue with Insufficient Storage warnings coming up, can't install apps, etc. The Device Storage page in settings shows 31.29gb used of 32gb plus 4.37gb of 63.22gb on SD card. I deleted photos, cleared app caches, and deleted everything that wasn't necessary. Used storage did not decrease. The breakdown of internal storage allocation is:
If I tap these categories to open up specifics, storage manager can't find the actual files that take up much space. Trying the default "migrate data to SD card" doesn't seem to do anything to help either. I installed DiskUsage and Cx File Explorer apps to try and find what's taking the space. These apps both show a lot of empty space, with the following storage used:
I can't find any files that Storage Manager are saying exists. Anyone got tips on how to find and delete this stuff (if storage manager is right), or if it's an error, how to get storage manager to accept reality? Hardware: moto g6 Android 9 [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 02 May 2020 11:51 AM PDT Yesterday my phone internal memory was getting full. When I noticed there were only a few megabytes left ,I tried to move some files to my external memory. While moving it got stuck at around 20% for around 15 minutes until I canceled the process, which took some time to do. Then I noticed that it copied a couple of files and one of them was incomplete, so I tried to delete it but it said "Task failed". Now the folded looked empty, I ejected the memory and mount and the files were there, I could open the files but every time I wanted to delete anything the SD Card folder went empty. I plugged it on my computer and did a backup. Now I tried to do a format. First the format could not be done because it said that the memory is only read, then I made the memory writable, tried to format(low level) and after almost 1 hour it said that the process could not be done. Anyone has any idea idea of how to fix the memory if it's possible? I appreciate any suggestion pd: My phone is a MotoX4 running Android 9. I use ES File Explorer to manage my files. However they did not have any accessories in stock for it, is it worth buying my gear off Amazon or is it worth the price tag going and buying direct? There's about a $40 ish difference between the two, but I am not sure that buying from Amazon would be worth it since it is so cheap, and normally cheap = trash. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.
