| Pixel 3 doesn't make noise when receiving incoming calls or text messages Posted: 19 Apr 2020 06:38 AM PDT My Google Pixel 3 has been inconsistent on whether it audibly rings or provides notifications for text messages, though I don't seem to have any problems with sound otherwise. I play music, watch movies, and am able to receive all sorts of other notifications. My "do not disturb" is off, the ringer volume is on, and text/ringtone volume is turned up. Flip to shhh is also clear. Battery saver is off, adaptive notifications is off. I also turned off mute and turned up the volume. I think I'm overlooking something else that's obvious. | Problem in the "Android System" app notifications Posted: 19 Apr 2020 08:27 AM PDT Hello everyone! When I open the notifications settings in the "Android System" system app something weird appears. In the "Display over other apps" section appears "A aplicação Clean Master sobrepões-se a outras aplicações" which is portuguese for "The app Clean Master displays over other apps" or something like that. Weird thing is that I have 2 smartphones (Oneplus 6t and Xiaomi Mi a2 lite) and this happens in both of them, They're both running Android 10. I never had tha app Clean Master in any of them. It's an old phone so I don't remember the password or email address i created it with but just the mobile number which I don't use that number anymore. I looked around online and after reading some instructions and tutorials, I tried to do a Mi account removal using 'Miracle Thunder 2.82' but I always encounter an error: 'Connecting to phone, wait.. Done CPUID : 0x000CC0E1 CPU : 0x000cc0e1 Loading the boot, wait... Done. Reading Partitions data... Read error. ID : 2222' Or sometimes just 'Timeout. | I found a locked Pixel 3 XL. What should I do? Posted: 18 Apr 2020 02:58 PM PDT It's a little bit suspicious. There's no SIM card inside, and I can't get the IMEI because the phone is locked. And I can't reset it either. But it's in perfect condition so I'd like to get it back to the owner or sell it. Also, there's no info in the emergency contacts. Edit: I did find the sim! The phone connects to the Verizon network okay, so it hasn't been reported as lost. But I'd still like to get it back. And the phone was completely dead, so I can't access the assistant or the camera. Solved by myself. For anyone that has an issue like this, I put the SIM in my phone, called the number that the SIM was registered to, and the guy picked up from his new phone. Problem solved. [link] [comments] |

| "System update failed" when trying to manually update my Zenfone 5z. Posted: 19 Apr 2020 04:16 AM PDT So i have a Zenfone 5Z for about 7 months now without problems. now it needs to be sent to repair. I happened to have two new Zenfone 5Z (planned as gifts, trip canceled due to corona). I opened both of them, added my google account. Wanted to update (to be able to restore my backup, and to have android 10) but it doesnt show any updates when i click system update. I tried manually, installed the "complete" Zip file from the Asus download center, tried both android 9 and android 10. In both cases it detects the new update but upon trying it says "System update failed" and i tried this on both new phones. I tried factory resetting them, i tried enabling developer mode, i tried renaming the file, tried updating everything else through google play and then updating, all with the same result i dont know if its related, but the boot menu only shows 4 options: reboot, shut down, factory reset and recovery log. it doesnt show things like "install from SD card" or the similar. | Posted: 19 Apr 2020 10:42 AM PDT Each time I connect the device to the PC via USB, to get to the device's files via the PC I have to open the notification of it and choose to transfer files. It can't remember forever for this PC, or even in general. On various other Android devices, it's much easier. Even on a low end Xiaomi device it remembers what I choose. Posted: 19 Apr 2020 10:30 AM PDT So the problem I am having is that my wifi on the tablet wouldn't connect so I factory reset the tablet to see if it would be fixed, However when I Hard reset the tablet, it was ok until It came to setup my wifi as it would say that "Turn the wifi on" However after a factory reset I would think that the wifi would be on. So the problem is that I am stuck on setup part of the tablet and can't connect to a wifi connection so it won't let me skip past it and go to the home screen. What do I do? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 19 Apr 2020 10:11 AM PDT So I have had my samsung s9 edge for a year now. And out of nowhere it just didn't wanna fast charge anymore. So I tried a different cable, wallsocket and brick. No other charger quickcharges it either. I have the settings enabled ofcourse(step 1 to look), I have ran my phone on safe mode, have it turned off, did a software update and even bought a wireless fastcharger. Nothing seems to get it to charge quicker. And it's not just your typical normal charging speed either. It literally charges 10 to 15% in an hour when my phone is off. Anyone got any idea what I can do? Maybe it's my battery but with corona I can't just send it back with no replacement seeing as those all broke or are so outdated and overused that it's quicker to buy a 100 buck phone(which I also rather wouldn't do). Any suggestions on things I can try? I kinda want to use my phone to entertain myself because I use it alot for my chromecast. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 19 Apr 2020 09:37 AM PDT Is there anyway on Android to send a photo or video (MMS) to multiple contacts without them being added to a group MMS conversation? I'm taking pictures/videos of my kids and then send them to the various grandparents. Most of the grandparents use iPhones but one uses an Android phone. I'm on an Android phone. None of them get along (hence my request to not be in a group chat). Right now I'm sending them to gp1, then gp2, then gp3, etc. via Google Messages. This gets tedious every day. I'd like to be able to select gp1, gp2, gp3 and choose the picture and have it send out to each or choose the photo and select each grandparent. Is there an app I can use? Thanks! [link] [comments] |

They wont back it up for me. I cant get into the phone with the screen broken to turn on debugging or anything, has anyone any advice on how to backup my phone if I cant even unlock it. Posted: 19 Apr 2020 09:18 AM PDT I have an LG G8 ThinQ and the last Android update a few weeks ago did something that REALLY makes my phone less usable for me. Among other things, it changed the UI when you swipe down to show notifications in such a way that the notifications are spaced further apart, with this rounded border between them. This effectively just wastes a lot of screen real estate and it means when I swipe down in Landscape orientation (which happens a lot when I have the phone in my car), I can't see ANYTHING except the 'control' panel buttons to turn WiFi/Bluetooth on and off et cetera. Is there a way to revert that, or otherwise compress that display so more notifications will fit on the screen at the same time? [link] [comments] |
