| Annoying nav bar on Android 10 Posted: 09 Apr 2020 09:27 AM PDT Something that really annoyes me is that out of the thousands of apps which have the small white gesture navigation bar (which I'm fine with), only a few don't have the blackish bar on the bottom, I don't know if this is app developers not updating they're apps or if it's Google fault. Or if I'm doing something wrong, if I am help would be much appreciated.🙂 P.s I'm on a pixel 3 [link] [comments] |
| New to twrp. Accidentally deleted os in twrp. Please help Posted: 08 Apr 2020 11:04 PM PDT I am new to twrp. I have a Samsung Tab a 8.0 (sm-p350) for casual usage which is completely stock. However, it stuck at samsung logo when I try to turn it on today. I then tried to odin flash the system downloaded from sammobile and it still stuck at samsung logo after odin flash for at least half an hour. I then googled and find that I should use twrp to wipe cache and data. However, I think I incorrectly deleted the os and twrp says "No OS installed" when I try to reboot to download mode for odin to re-flash again. Is there anything I can do? Please help [link] [comments] |
| Is there a way to transfer files between Android and Windows wirelessly? Posted: 09 Apr 2020 07:00 AM PDT Apple has this for years now and I can't find a solution that even my grandmother understands with Android and Windows. Most apps are difficult to set up or just have too many ads. Is there something out yet, or should we all go apple? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
| How do I fix this Samsung notes bug. Posted: 09 Apr 2020 10:40 AM PDT Hi, lately I have been trying to get into digital note taking. I have a samsung tab with s pen and this is what I intend to use for my notes. And I also prefer handwriting notes over typing them so after testing a bunch of apps I find Samsung's own notes app to be the best when it comes to handwritten notes. But there is one catch, the highlighter tool has this bug where if you make a line it creates a fishhook end. Meaning the end curls up. Which makes the highlighter strokes look messy. Typically this happens when drawing fast lines but in this case no matter how slow i draw the line this problem still persists. I have tried highlighter tool in other pdf readers which doesn't have this issue so im pretty sure it is a software thing and not a hardware issue or how I draw the lines. So now I want to know how do I fix it? It might be a very small issue but it is bugging me a lot, cause everything else about this app is perfect and this one feature which I need badly has this bug. Note : I know I could make the notes in Samsung notes and then highlight using the pdf reader but this way Id have to highlight my notes only after I have finished making them and once I do I wont be able to edit the notes. | Can't get instagram to work in PiP mode even though it's enabled in the settings Posted: 09 Apr 2020 09:54 AM PDT It used to work until my Realme 3 pro got the Realme UI update and now the icon just simply continues the video chat with camera off. I can't figure out why this is happening..yelp? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 09 Apr 2020 10:39 AM PDT Salam, I am looking for a clean way of creating a shortcut to specific "toggle" setting. In particular, I want to be able to toggle on and off quickly wifi access to a specific application (via Settings, Wireless and Networks, Data Usage, Network Access and a certain checkbox for a specific application in there). Is there a way to do this without the use of 3rd party apps? And if no, does anyone have a recommended app? Ideally, the shorcut should be in the drop down menu, but I have seen certain apps creating shortcuts on the home screen..I guess that is ok too. I hope this already has been adressed by someone. Grateful for whatever assistance anyone can provide on this matter. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 09 Apr 2020 10:27 AM PDT Hello, I have a Moto G6 Play and after a recent update, my phone can't read my SD card. I was wondering if there was a fix for that or if I could restore the version of my phone to a previous version. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you. [link] [comments] |
| Can't install or update apps without clearing Google Play data. Posted: 09 Apr 2020 01:28 PM PDT This has been going on for many months and it drives me crazy. I can't install or update anything without first clearing data on Google Play. It always stays stuck on "Download Pending" and always goes back to doing this after clearing data. Any permanent solution would be very helpful. [link] [comments] |
| Is there any Android virtual machines available? Posted: 09 Apr 2020 05:47 AM PDT I would love to be able to run android in a virtual machine on my phone to use for all the scummy apps so that I share less personal information. Do any exist? I have a note 10+ so I would think it would have plenty of processing power/ram to handle it. [link] [comments] |
| Which phones allow your to tether/hotspot right out of the box? Even if the carrier needs blocks it. Posted: 09 Apr 2020 07:17 AM PDT I have Straight Talk and they don't allow for hotspot use. My old Nexus 5 didn't ask for hotspot authorization and my v20 does and I can't use the hotspot with it. I'd like to buy a little newer phone that doesn't ask for hotpot authorization. And pdanet is janky. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks [link] [comments] |

Posted: 09 Apr 2020 06:47 AM PDT Android keeps highlighting stuff I'm writing, but I disabled everything related to autocorrection and spelling mistakes, and every time I tab onto that part, instead of just letting me edit it, I get a popup for idiots with suggestet words. | How do I cast media and play it on my device simultaneously? Posted: 09 Apr 2020 12:39 PM PDT For example, youtube music. How can I play it through my tv (casting) and through my tablet (the device that would be casting) at the same time? I want to be able to get the same audio from both at the same time. | Question: Is there a way to make modern Android AUTO ACCEPT CONNECTION to trusted computers yet? Posted: 09 Apr 2020 06:37 AM PDT It's not only annoying, I've been losing data because of it. Every now and the, a phone drops, a screen dies, or something falls in water. Such is life with a big family and a lot of devices. If the thing would remember the machine, I could at least connect it and get the data off, but I never can. It's obnoxious to say the least. So is there a fix, hack, or setting (preferably)? Better if I could mount it as an external drive or memory card like the early Androids did so Windows tools would actually work on it. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 09 Apr 2020 12:33 PM PDT i have a sony xperia 1 and i never got the android 10 update i was wondering if i had to opt into something? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 09 Apr 2020 08:45 AM PDT I don't like the recovery we're forced to use with LOS 16 and 17.1. I read somewhere about some rom that uses TWRP by default/bundled with it. I'd really like that. Google services aren't required, but it would be nice to have the option to flash a minimal opengapps or mindthegapps package. Also, LOS17.1 won't support magisk and maybe not root in general? I'd like to be able to root still. Other roms I've heard about, GrapheneOS, ArrowOS, CopperheadOS (limited devices). I have a Google Pixel (first gen). [link] [comments] |
| Suggestion for Enhanced Back Swipe Gesture Function - iOS like? Posted: 09 Apr 2020 12:23 PM PDT Why can't a SINGLE back swipe gesture close the keyboard and go to the previous screen? Example: 1st to close the keyboard Solution: Can we please implement this? probably by an ADB command? that changes back gesture to close keyboard if opened? [link] [comments] |
| How to keep tethering even after running out of my "unlimited" plan (50GB)? Posted: 09 Apr 2020 04:47 AM PDT unlimited is not really unlimited. I read the fine print. Any way to not have internet slow down after reaching the cap ? I'm using mobile internet as my main internet at home lately. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 09 Apr 2020 04:47 AM PDT I'm trying to recover some photos off an old phone, but it's failing to boot... I've managed to get into recovery and I'm getting the errors shown - is there any way around this to recover the data on the phone or could it be lost along with all the other filesystems it's failing to mount? The device is running standard TouchWiz Android 4 [link] [comments] |
| OEM Unlock button missing on galaxy a10e STILL Posted: 09 Apr 2020 12:17 PM PDT I've been trying to root my A10e for weeks now with no success. I've tried all the xda guides on solving this issue but I've made no progress, here's the issue. I've been trying to unlock the OEM but the button is completely gone from the developer options, I've waited the 7 days multiple times, I've changed the date, I've gone through the software toggles and processes, nothing, it's still gone. Is there some other way to approach this? I'm willing to do anything at this point, my phone is a fucking pain in the ass to use daily and I really need to clear it up. Any recommendations, any methods. I need something [link] [comments] |
| Remote access to android on a dual sim phone Posted: 09 Apr 2020 12:13 PM PDT Hey! I would like to have mobile phone with two sim cards and be able to access it on remote. The idea is to leave the phone at home and be able to access to the SMS, missed calls and voice mails from the computer from from somewhere else. Access from a iOS device (iPhone or iPad) and access to whatsapp would be really desirable but not a must. First thing that came to my mind was teamviewer, but I have seem other options like AirDroid searching on this subreddit. I would like to know if there is something more suitable for the task than those two apps, and cheaper. Airdrop has a paid version. Also, I'm trying to get the cheapest phone possible to do the task and I would like to know if there is any recommendation or limitation on that department. The same regarding to the android version. | Issue with a notification in the navbar Posted: 09 Apr 2020 12:02 PM PDT Motorola One Action, Android 10, getting a blue dot in the lower right on the navbar. Pressing it gives me a "New gesture navigation" notification, but the option "See how it works" just dismisses the notification, then it will reappear in another minute or so, possibly tied to the navbar resetting when I open a landscape oriented app or some such. My intent is to permanently clear or disable this notification. Have tried restarting the phone, attempting to directly "try out" gesture nav in system settings, and disabling a couple notification setting that looked like they might be tied to this, but came up dry. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
| Android 5.1.1. Phone Self Installed Microsoft Office, is it normal? Posted: 09 Apr 2020 02:03 AM PDT Ι woke up to find out my phone decided to automatically install Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc.) without ever asking for my permission or showing signs of planning to do so. Just out of the blue. Also installed Galaxy Apps, Hangouts and OneDrive. Meanwhile, it also logged me out of Facebook/Messenger and Viber, yet left me still connected to my email service and Youtube account. Is this a ballsy move of Google Play's doing or should i be worried about malware somehow finding its way to my phone? Btw, my phone seemed to have rebooted since it also required the 4-digit PIN code to be fully initialized. P.S.: Never visited anything weird on the web nor clicked any weird links (didn't click any links actually) nor downloaded any shady app (downloaded NONE). It just happened yesterday.
