    Workaround for Pixel 4 Face Unlock WITH Mask

    For Pixel 4 users.

    I found an acceptable workaround(80-85% success rate) that allows unlocking when I have a mask, and also when I have the mask removed.

    Note: this only works with only one type of mask - you can't interchange a clinical mask with say, an N95, and expecting the workaround to unlock. A disposable surgical face mask was used in this workaround.

    Time required: 3 minutes

    Steps:

    your mileage may vary

    1. Delete your current face data and wear your desired mask
    2. Fire up the face unlock registration process.
    3. Start by looking at your P4 head-on and then tilt your head around, paying more time and attention on tilting your head upwards. You will often be prompted with 'fit your face in the inner face' errors so try different range and angles of tilting. You will need a lot of attempts to register so please try till a good 75% of the sphere is registered, leaving the furthest edge of the sphere still being in blue(unregistered)
      (I've tried registering my masked face till near 90% completion, filling the remaining blue parts with my bare face and it still works).
    4. You can now remove your mask and finish up the tilting your unmasked face to the remaining blue parts in the sphere.

    The main take away is to let Face Unlock learn and recognise your face with a mask and to further supplement the unlock capability with other bits of information of you, without the mask.

    Hi everyone, I just pubblished my app on the Play Store and I would like to share it with all of you!

    The app is very simple: you create your events and the app tells how much time is left.

    For example I created the event for the end of the lockdown :)

    First OP8 Pro users report green screens and dark screen borders
