I'm just wondering if my phone will anyway be checking the location all the time and these apps just check the phone for it as necessary and therefore I don't really save battery. Or do I? | Posted: 06 Mar 2020 08:08 AM PST Good day! I've been stuck with this issue of an notification. I've been trying to disable it in the settings but I can't seem to find how to do it. It's very annoying that this notification would just pop up up everytime I adjust the volume and brightness. For instance, I'll watch a video and adjust the volume to it, and suddenly my phone would bring in this notifaction in the middle of my screen notifying me that my volume level has changed. | Can Someone Explain Why the Website Started Being Redirected? Posted: 06 Mar 2020 11:47 AM PST Until recently I had no problem visiting the ustvgo.tv website on my Android 8.1 phone (Bromite browser), Win10 laptop (Chrome browser) and my MX10 Android 9.0 TV box (Dolphin and Brave browsers). Everything is still working OK on the phone and laptop but not the TV box. Today on the TV box I got redirected from ustvgo.tv to a Sucuri Website Firewall page that states "The site you are visiting is using Sucuri Website Firewall" and states that the firewall might be misconfigured. But I don't understand why I'm having the issue on only the MX10. Any troubleshooting assistance will be appreciated. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
| How do I disable automatic dictionary updates? Posted: 06 Mar 2020 07:56 AM PST Back on my old phone, my Google dictionary would only update when I told it to do so. I always found it very useful, but it seems that this has been replaced by an automatically updating dictionary, where you have to dig in the settings to add a new word and your typos are added to the dictionary if you make them often enough. Since the old phone is dead, I can't use Samsung's Smart Swtich. I recently made a backup of the old phone using Huawei's HiSuite. From what I can see, it includes sms in two formats: sqlite database and csv file. Is it possible to import these messages without overriding the ones I currently have on my new phone? Posted: 06 Mar 2020 10:50 AM PST I have a shiny new Samsung Galaxy S20+.I tried to turn on "Hey Google", but it directs me to set up voice match (which it technically has set up already , because it works on 4 other devices). After agreeing to the terms, it says, "please wait"... forever. After waiting several minutes, I gave up, and tried again (repeatedly) with no luck. | Any way to prevent an app from making any sound at all? Posted: 06 Mar 2020 09:59 AM PST There's a game I play that makes a sound every time you launch it (think clash of clans but it's not that game) it has other sounds in the app. In the apps settings you can turn off all sounds but this doesn't seem to affect the launching sound. | More control of callers to ignore do not disturb Posted: 06 Mar 2020 09:32 AM PST When choosing which callers to allow through do not disturb the only options I have are all, contacts, favourites or none. This doesn't line up with who I need to be able to reach me on do not disturb. I want a couple of my family to be able to reach me and a fair few more work numbers. Trouble is setting this group as my favourites means I can no longer easily call friends from the phone app and I've got five work numbers I'll never have to call (they're all outgoing only) cluttering up the screen. Anyone dealt with this or got any suggestions on good workarounds? Running a Pixel 1 with stock Android 10 if it matters. [link] [comments] |

One is from the Government, and it should ask you what's your email... but it doesn't and instead it throws a generic error. For a simple thing as asking for an email. The Government tech didn't knew what was the problem. I've tested the same app on a Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite (the variant with 32GB) and it works. Now it's the 1.1.1.1 app that's giving me problems. When I open it up for the first time, it asks me to accept the privacy terms and conditions. But when I click on accept, it shows the message "An unknown error ocurred" (or something similar). In both cases, there's no way to know what's happening. It's a long shot, but maybe someone has found a solution. My phone seems to be updated. Thank you! [link] [comments] |

Can't find any OS setting to do that. Is there one, root or not? Installed navbar apps, set a static color, it works unless you run a Google app (Gmail, Chrome, Calendar, Calculator, etc). When those run, the navbar is still black but the buttons vanish. The areas where the buttons should be still respond to touch, they just don't display. Posted: 06 Mar 2020 06:48 AM PST I wanted to install Disney+ on my new phone but in the Playstore I see a message in red where the install button should be saying "Your device isn't compatible with this version". When installing Netflix, I got the same message and discovered it was because of my phone being unlocked, I simply downloaded an apk for Netflix and it works fine. However when I downloaded an apk for Disney+ (several from several sources) I would always get the message the app was not installed or installation failed with no options for anything else. I noticed that I am suddenly unable to access Google Photos directly though the default text app. While only days ago with the same model mobile I could. | Posted: 06 Mar 2020 06:28 AM PST I bought a new s20+ the other day and I'm pretty happy with it, camera is awesome and up to par without smoothing bs that they usually do. but on instagram and snapchat, the in app camera is extremely zoomed in. if i hold my phone a feet away from me it looks like my face is plastered on my screen. is there a way to fix this? ive tried searching for fixes but nothing. instagram stories are also zoomed in, where the edges are cut off. When connected to PC via USB, the files are not visible as well. But are visible in Google Photos. The default Mi File Manager is weird, some files are visible, some are not. I like to keep my apps in their own folders, dependant on type, so games, music, video and so on. The device has lost these folders settings on about 4/5 occasions now, each time when I've been sat in the car and just turned off the car, I've noticed when I've got back into work. I think its something to do with Android Auto, but not 100% sure. I used Android Auto regularly, almost daily on my commute to and from work, but it only happens when I'm sat in the car making video calls to the other half - could be something to do with not disconnecting from the car correctly. Anyway I've searched high and low, but am unable to find a solution as to how to backup the folders so if it does it again I can revert back to my previous settings. Posted: 06 Mar 2020 01:50 AM PST I have an app on my phone that will remain nameless because I cannot mention it on Reddit, but what it does is basically download movies (think like super Netflix). I want to transfer the movies I've downloaded from my phone to my tablet to watch on airplanes, but I have absolutely no access to the files themselves which only appear to be accessible through the nameless app. There appears to be no folder anywhere on my phone containing these movies, but I can totally watch the movies through my app offline no problem.
