Posted: 21 Mar 2020 09:41 AM PDT I am interested in rooting my S9 Plus (snapdragon) TMobile phone, but it has a locked bootloader. Is it possible to root my device? I've looked at guides and instructions about a year ago, but wasn't sure about the locked bootloader so I haven't done it. Anyone know if this is possible or have any advice or thoughts? Posted: 21 Mar 2020 08:36 AM PDT I have a rooted phone, but still on stock rom. My problem is that my earphones don't support "hardware" audio adjustment and when I listen to music on the lowest volume, it is still loud to sleep. I tried increasing the media volume steps by editing build.prop but as expected the minimum volume level remain the same. Any ideas on how to change this? I have plenty of time and low level programming experience if required, but a bit of searching online gave me no clues. However I want to keep this rom. Thanks in advance! EDIT:I have Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite [link] [comments] |

Phone repair options under quarantine Posted: 20 Mar 2020 11:43 PM PDT I have a samsung galaxy s8. The phone doesn't show up anymore when I connect it to my pc, so I can't transfer files to my pc. I've tried different usb ports. Any ideas for how to fix this issue? All of the phone repair places in my area are closed due to the quarantine, so I'm not sure what to do. One idea is to buy a microsd card and use that to transfer files for the next few weeks. What brands and models of microsd cards would you recommend? How do I tell which cards are the fastest? Is it possible to transfer files from phone storage to the sd card? Would I need a 3rd-party app? If I stuck the sd card into a pc sd card reader, would the files be accessible by pc? Or would the files be unreadable unless I formatted the card again for pc (which would cause me to lose the files I'm trying to transfer)? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 Mar 2020 10:45 AM PDT Is there a website that keeps up with current software updates and what they change for samsung? My samsung had a recent update, a lot of aesthetic things changed. My battery life seems better but my phone crashes a lot. Now I've had another update. Wonder what has changed with this one I tried to google this but I just get a bunch of weird techy articles that tell me nothing. Just advertisements [link] [comments] |
The secret code *#*#4636#*#* does not work in my Samsung GalaxyA30. Posted: 21 Mar 2020 03:27 AM PDT I tried to use ##4636## dialer-code to get advanced network settings to disable the 2G-connection, but the dialer-code does not work. Is there any fix for the issue? Any help appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Mar 2020 10:35 AM PDT Speakers on the headphones broke, if i connect via bluetooth then it still tries to transfer audio over. Can I make it output audio via the main phone speaker, whilst still having a bluetooth connection to the headphones to use the media controls as a remote? Handset is a Xiaomi Mi 9T, running Android 10. Full specs linked here [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Mar 2020 10:30 AM PDT So when I click on an image I want to be my wallpaper, it will show the entire image on the phone using black borders to fit the entire image on the screen. However, when I go to make it my wallpaper it forces me to crop it. Is there any way to have the wallpaper be the full image with borders option? Provided two screenshots to show what I mean.
And yes I am aware that the image is being cropped because it's not the appropriate size, but option 1 in the screenshot I provided looks just fine to me with borders and is something you could easily do with a PC desktop background for an image that isn't the exact resolution of the monitor. Anyone encountered this problem with Gboard before? Posted: 21 Mar 2020 10:02 AM PDT I am using custom rom btw The keyboard just shifted up, pressing the empty area would be clicking the upper keys located. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing changes. [link] [comments] |
What's taking up so much space on my android? Posted: 21 Mar 2020 09:52 AM PDT I have an android (Samsung galaxy, not sure the exact model), and for a long time I've been having issues with storage. I always figured it was the apps I've downloaded taking up a lot of the internal storage, so I recently got a microSD card and moved my apps there. But this has come with a minimal change in the internal storage. I don't keep a lot of pictures, or anything else on my phone. What is taking up all the space? [link] [comments] |

Google Messages vs Samsung Messages sms delivery Posted: 20 Mar 2020 10:43 PM PDT How come Google Messages tells your a message is "Delivered" below the message (not talking about RCS), but when you turn the feature on with Samsung Messages, it sends you a notification telling you it's delivered. I like Samsung Messages but that part is very annoying to me. Any way to get it to behave like Google Messages? [link] [comments] |

google apps that are safe to remove? Posted: 21 Mar 2020 12:34 AM PDT Is there any list that specifies which apps are safe to remove from an android phone? like removing android auto for example i dont think it would break my phone, but if i remove some core utilities it might. Thats why im asking, is there a list with such information? Something like this, that was made for huawei. Thank you [link] [comments] |
Weird Icon as Samsung internet app Posted: 20 Mar 2020 06:35 PM PDT Everytime I open I link in Twitter it shows this icon on top of the app, like a weird R, which makes no sense. Does anybody know what is this? Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/WE4e0Ou [link] [comments] |
Honor 7X sending messages to group chat up to multiple hours late Posted: 20 Mar 2020 07:45 PM PDT As per title, I have an Honor 7X and the messages I'm sending in group messages (Google Messages app, not the default) is showing as sent on my app, but my friends are receiving them up to multiple hours late (probably about half send on time versus late). Messages to individuals are working fine. Also, some of my group chat messages are sending before ones that I sent earlier, such as if I send two messages one after another the second one will sometimes send before the first, with a very large time gap between them (again, multiple hours later). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
File Manager app that allows periods in folder names? (hiding folders) Posted: 20 Mar 2020 11:09 PM PDT I've read that putting a period at the start of an album (folder) name will hide it from casual file browsing via typical apps. Example: ".HideThisFolder". I tried a well-rated file manager app, but it didn't allow periods. The "ES" file manager allegedly allowed it, but it's been discovered to be snoop-ware. (Sorry, I don't remember the brand I tried.) Does anyone know a brand that allows periods? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Announce caller's name over the Bluetooth headphones? Posted: 20 Mar 2020 09:10 PM PDT OK, so I thought that would be a standard feature, alas it seems not. I just bought Letscom U8L and all they do is just ring, no caller announcement. My old TaoTronics did announce the incoming number, but Not the caller's name. On top of it, I cannot find any Accessibility/Settings options that some posters recommend to turn on Android's built-in (as I understood it) caller announcement feature. And anyway I'm not sure if it would propagate over the Bluetooth... I thought, no prob - there gotta be an app for that. Downloaded the seemingly popular Caller Name Announcer : Hands-Free Pro app, but no dice: it does work with SMS and WhatsApp messages, but NOT with the phone calls over Bluetooth - which would be the main purpose of the app with such name, one would think... My smartphone is Moto G5S. So. How do I make my Bluetooth headphones (currently Letscom U8L) announce the caller's name? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 08:25 PM PDT This happened a few minutes ago and I don't know what to do, I'll put you in context. First thing to know I have Android os. I was going to send a photo through WhatsApp when I noticed something strange: The first image shown in my gallery, was one I took a long ago with my cellphone (a very private one) and sent it to another person a long ago. The photos were in an archived chat and I had deleted them (or I thought so). I opened the gallery app and saw this photo on the screenshot carpet. I didn't even have it on my gallery before today, so I don't know where could it come from. I'm 100 percent sure that I didn't take this screenshots. I have already checked my Google account and it says no account has been hacked or logged in on any device. [link] [comments] |
How to keep a widget from sleeping Posted: 20 Mar 2020 04:11 PM PDT Hello, Please, let me know if I'm on the good subreddit. I've been using "unified remote" from a long time on my good old Xiaomi note 4. More specifically the widget that allows to remote instantly from desktop. But since I switched to Huawei P20, the widget seems to go to sleep very fast. I have to open the app, and then I can use the widget. I've disabled the automatic handling of energy for this app, but it's not enough. I've contacted the app's provider but no answer, and my searches on the subject remains unsuccessful. Thanks [link] [comments] |
