I hope that just by bringing this up you will know what I mean.

I moved from Chromecast to an NVIDIA Shield about 3 months ago. I still really enjoy finding content on my phone and casting, but I also like the advantage of lean-back content choosing using the remote and all the other advantages of the Android TV platform. What I don't like is having to remember how I got the content playing. While watching Youtube for example I'd like to be able to cast from my phone, then later press back on the remote and find myself in the android tv shield menu, then later load another video using the remote and add to the up next list using my phone. That would be intuitive to me. As it stands I have to remember how I got the content on the screen and stay in my lane.

Sony 55x8000G Android TV Resolution questions...

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 07:50 AM PST

Hi guys just bought the TV and thank god for this subreddit because I am but stuck.
So even though I have a decent speed internet I have low data cap. Which makes it difficult to stream Netflix on decent quality. But on an article in the interwebs it says you can manually set your resolution to 1080p so you dont stream on 4k since Netflix does not give you the choice.

And I for honestly can not find the resolution settings anywhere, there is a resolution setting in Picture>Clarity>Resolution, but it is a slidebar going from 0 to 100. Am I missing something can you help me please? Many thanks in advance!

Running a webserver on Android TV?

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 04:14 PM PST

I have an Nvidia Shield TV and it's running as a Plex server. But I thought it might also be good for running a HTTP server. What's the best app I can use for this?

I run Mullvad VPN on my s10 plus phone using wireguard. I can't find this on my new 55 inch Hisense through the Google play app. Any suggestions?

2019 Shield TV Pro remote/playback issues

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 08:36 AM PST

No clue what happened. Was working fine yesterday but now the remote volume IR blaster no longer works (but works when setting up in settings), and the interface becomes unresponsive for 10-20 seconds when trying to change volume from Shield remote and will stop video playing and return to home screen. I've rebooted but really don't want to have to factory reset and lose all my settings.

Netflix seems to play ok but volume is very quiet relative to what I used to have to set av receiver to, but kodi playback crashes to home screen after a few seconds
