Can Smart YouTube completely replace stock YouTube app? Posted: 12 Jan 2020 05:24 AM PST Smart YouTube is great. I have noticed, however, that it can't completely replace the stock YouTube app within voice searches. When I do a voice search—say, Smart YouTube can work from voice search. Suggestions? mi box s keep switching resolution from 4k to 1080p Posted: 12 Jan 2020 07:19 AM PST Damn the pie update, it is the third bug I've found so far. I have a 4k TV and the recommendation resolution it said was 1080p, so I manually changed it to 4k only to found out that mi box would randomly switch it back for unknown reason. This happens too often and annoys me like hell. Fix your bug before you release . , Xiaomi. [link] [comments]
Disney & Netflix Dolby 5.1 not working mi box s Posted: 11 Jan 2020 04:06 PM PST Hey everyone! Been having problems with my mi box S since the android 9.0 update. First problem, all videos would play for about 1.5 minutes the stop. Tried everything, finally had to reset it, fixed that problem (still a minor 30 reset everytime a Bluetooth devices disconnects , but only on Disney +) But the new main problem is Dolby 5.1 from Netflix or Disney. Both, no matter what I do only does stereo. Plex does Dolby 5.1 fine, so it's not my setting. I think it's the Netflix and Disney apps not playing well with the mi box s and the new 9.0 update. Can anyone else with a mi box S , and android 9.0, confirm if Netflix or Disney is doing Dolby 5.1? My setup mi box S --> Vizio TV --> (optical input) Vizio sound bar Edit:. Netflix Solution, set it to spdif or auto and restart the box and hopefully it will fix it if you have the same problem. Thanks to R6ckstar for the tip. Disney+ still only does stereo with this trick. [link] [comments]
USB Mouse Problem With Mi Box S 4K Posted: 11 Jan 2020 11:57 PM PST Recently bought the Android Box, but it doesn't seem to be working properly with an usb mouse. While built-in settings section and YouTube work properly, other apps like Netflix -even Google Play- isn't working very well with the mouse. Can't search anything in Google Play because nothing happens when I click the search button. Netflix is the worst, can't do anything with the mouse. I think the reason is related to these apps are designed only for TV and the TV remote, but wondered if others have experienced the same issues. Is there any workaround for this, or should I just install the standard versions of these apps? [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jan 2020 06:08 PM PST Managed to get GForceNOW up and running on my AF8/A8F, and I am amazed First game I tried runs 1080p/60 without problems, consuming about 25-40mbit/s, and there isn't a glitch. Very very satisfied and surprised a low rated processor can handle it without a glitch [link] [comments]
Replacing my old TV - should I get a stream box for my use case? Posted: 11 Jan 2020 09:34 PM PST I currently have a Chromecast Ultra and use it to stream Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, YouTube, Twitch, Videostream (for local files) and mirror tabs for anything else from my computer (though there's a quality drop for that), which is also in my bedroom. Most of the content I watch is in 1080p and I've never been bothered by that (so yes, the Ultra is overkill, which is why I want to make sure if a stream box fits my needs). Since my new TV is a 2019 model, the built-in apps shouldn't be too sluggish just yet. Further, the only Chromecast problem I have is mirroring tabs, and I have a PS4 (not Pro) that I could hypothetically use for some streaming. I could also connect my tablet to my TV to avoid having to screen mirror as well. I've looked at spec sheets and features lists for a couple of stream boxes and nothing's really caught my attention, but maybe that's because I've never used one. Maybe a stream box would be better in a few years when my TV stops getting updates? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
MI Box S - safe to update if you have HDHomeRun? Posted: 11 Jan 2020 04:48 PM PST When the update to 9(beta?) came out I saw posts saying it breaks chromecast and hdhomerun. I saw some suggested fixes for chromecast but not hdhomerun. Anyone got it working or just hold off on the update? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Has anyone had any success running BT Sport on Android TV (Sony Bravia) Posted: 11 Jan 2020 12:41 PM PST I've installed the latest apk but when I try to run it, it tells me Google Play Services needs updating. I click the link but only get the option to uninstall, telling me that Google Play Services is already updated. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
