Beyond frustrated with Samsung Galaxy J7 Crown!! Posted: 11 Dec 2019 09:31 AM PST I had no idea I couldn't reset my phone with a lock screen in place without getting stuck needing to sign in with a (several years old and have forgotten!!! google account) I tried the fix here you enter in through emergency call, call 911, tell them it as an accident, go into settings, make google.com a contact, go to it, then google vnrom bypass...but nope, java error cant even get on the page Tried the talkback solution, where you enter talkback settings, go to a youtube video tutorial for "ok google" features, clicking watch later, getting into google.com, and THEN once again trying to access the vnrom bypass site, this time I got on, I install the launcher, then the frp bypass apk, and it CRASHES! and will not run Bought an OTG drive, loaded on the FRP bypass.apk onto it, it is SUPPOSED to open the file browser automatically when an otg is plugged in but NOPE! nothing opens! cant run anything off the drive IM BEYOND PISSED ABOUT THIS. It's been days of trying to fix, hours of research and no single solution can I replicate in it's entirety something always differs from the tutorials when I actually try it. HOw DO I BYPASS FRP ON MY SAMSUNG GALAXY J7 CROwN!!!!!! I'm potentially missing job callbacks over this crap [link] [comments] |
Anybody know how to prevent the Android auto update? Posted: 11 Dec 2019 10:02 AM PST My android auto in my Chevy Colorado started wanting to automatically update. A few months ago it had updated. But I absolutely despise the new version. I had performed a factory reset on my note 8 to try and fix a battery issue but it also had rolled back android auto to a previous version and it course it's been working perfectly since. Is there any way to stop this update. It says I have 5 days. [link] [comments] |
The YouTube app changed the playback control behavior Posted: 11 Dec 2019 11:48 AM PST Until yesterday a tap anywhere would close the controls, but since today it was moved to a very small button. Why? [link] [comments] |

'View remote TV <brand name>' activity? Posted: 11 Dec 2019 10:07 AM PST So I checked my activity in my Google account and what showed up was what the title says, with pretty much any tech brand you can think of. Samsung, Lg, Panasonic, Sony, Vizio (Never even heard of) All at the same time stamp, today. I never did anything related to any TV today. Should I be worried? [link] [comments] |
Can I turn down the Google Assistant "beep" volume on my S10? Posted: 11 Dec 2019 10:01 AM PST x-posted from r/galaxys10 after a few days... Is there a way to independently adjust the volume of the "beep in" of the google assistant on the S10? I'm using Airpod Pros with AssistantTrigger and they work fine, but the beep is ungodly loud and will give me hearing damage if I can't find a way to reduce the volume. I've tried turning down the volume while the assistant speaks, but that doesn't work, and it doesn't appear to be tied to media volume either. It's less of an issue on my Bose Wireless Sports, so I think it's an issue that's amplified (hehe) with the new Airpods. [link] [comments] |
After 2 years of owning my Note 8 today it randomly turned yellow after waking up Posted: 11 Dec 2019 08:26 AM PST I bought my Note 8 brand new, it has no physical damage, my screen does have some screen burn but other then that the screen still looks really good. Today I woke up, looked at my phone, the screen was fine, then I texted someone, made a call and put my phone down. A few minutes later I go to respond to a text and I notice the entire screen is yellow and some of the icon apps look a lot more bold. I ended up restarting my phone and that didn't help. So I went into my display settings my brightness is usually at 80%, then I went into Screen mode which I have set to Adaptive display, and tried AMOLED cinema, AMOLED photo and basic. I tried messing with the white balance and advanced settings and I cannot get it to look how it usually does. I've read online that this issue can be caused by blue light filter but I never use it. I don't know what else to do besides reformat which I really want to avoid because it takes hours to finish because I have to redownload so many apps and videos. Or the worst case scenario which is having to replace my screen which is around $230 at a Samsung authorized store. I am going to keep looking online but any suggestions would be appreciated. Posted: 11 Dec 2019 08:13 AM PST So my phone auto assigns "categories" to pictures in Samsung Gallery. For example, if I take a pic of food, it assigns it to "food" automatically. How do I disable this? I don't want my phone scanning my camera album and running it through algorithms for obvious reasons. How do I disable this and clear all category data?

why can't stock android 9 let me enable system-wide(ish) dark mode? Posted: 11 Dec 2019 05:57 AM PST have been using the mi a3 for over a month now, and a thing that bothers me is that, it has dark mode for the play store, google cards and google search, but only enables that when I use the phone in battery saver mode... the only workaround is when I use a 3rd party app off the play station, my question is, if it can do it, why not just have the options to do it natively? Can someone recommend me a good launcher? Posted: 11 Dec 2019 07:35 AM PST I'm after as stock as possible which as many features as possible. I've used nova for so long and I've gotten bored of it. One UI home doesn't do anything for me, I like customization. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 11 Dec 2019 09:50 AM PST Is there a utility that will sync my music from my MacBook to my Android phone that transcodes at the same time? I loved iTunes' ability to downsample music when you put it on an iPhone (but was frustrated that there was no option for MP3 320). I have tonnes of really high bitrate music, mostly for archival reasons, and have no desire to have my 2,300kbps Koenjihyakkei recordings on my phone, and I also don't have the space to keep a lower bitrate version of every song. Posted: 10 Dec 2019 04:43 PM PST Hi everyone. I've been using Zedge for sound effects, notification effects, wallpapers, ringtones...etc. However, it has ads and I'm pretty sure it spies on me. Are there any good alternatives that have no ads? [link] [comments] |

Gmail stuck on getting your messages Posted: 11 Dec 2019 01:13 AM PST I only noticed due to no email notifications in the past few days (I checked my email on my laptop and that's when I realized something was wrong)....so I manually boot up gmail and it just says getting your messages and then nothing. I have changed no settings. So if something has changed, I did not do it and wonder what I can do to get it to work again. [link] [comments] |
Toasts are showing for a long time in all apps Posted: 10 Dec 2019 02:54 PM PST Hi, I have a pixel 3a XL on Android 10. For the past week or so toasts have been showing for about a minute each and I don't know why. I am an android developer so it's in developer mode, and I do tinker with advanced settings from that menu and the command line from time to time, but nothing springs to mind that would affect toasts. Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |
Questionable phone from eBay need advice Posted: 10 Dec 2019 08:29 PM PST So I received a phone we bought off eBay a Galaxy s8 active and when I tried to update the software to Android 9 which has been released for AT&T already for several months now I believe and it says that I have the latest update and it is only Android 8.0. then I boot it up in recovery mode and it gave me a crash in Chinese kanji. Even though the error is in Chinese kanji, the menu appears in English. It should be in English as it is supposed to be from the US carrier. Would you advise against using this, or is it safe? If it is safe how would one go about finding the file to sideload Android 9 for the Galaxy s8 active from the SD card? [link] [comments] |

Transfering files and data from crahing S7 Edge to S10+ Posted: 10 Dec 2019 03:28 PM PST Hello r/AndroidQuestions, I need your help! Recently my Galaxy S7 Edge started randomly crashing before attempting to restart, failing, and ending up with a black screen and a solid blue light. It no longer responded to any buttons and the only way to get it working again was to wait till it ran out of power and could be powered on again, until it eventually crashed again. No fixes online solved the issue (Force restarts, Clearing cache, etc.), so I eventually decided to just upgrade to a new phone as I had been looking to upgrade for a while and eventually settled on an S10+. Problem is, I want to transfer my photos, music, contacts, etc, to my new phone, however, smart switch and manually transfering files is near impossible with its constant freezing and crashing. So my question is, is there a way to get my files moved without fully powering up the phone, or to do it quickly, such as a method in the boot menu? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Dash autoremoves space before it Posted: 10 Dec 2019 03:49 PM PST Got a sony xperia with android. Using "-" automatically removes the space before it so the previous word connects with the dash on some of the native apps like the thing for taking notes. (blabla - yes becomes blabla- yes) Also writing stuff like 258 - 365 - 974 automatically underlines it and put it in blue which is super annoying. Any way to remove that? [link] [comments] |
