| Android 9.0 font colour settings questions Posted: 15 Dec 2019 08:47 AM PST Sorry if this has been asked a million times and I've not found the proper answer... Using Android os 9.0 on my S8+, I have some themes from when I had my S6 and one in particular changes the text color for menu options and text messages, making them nearly unreadable (light font on light bubble / menu background). I'm trying to find any way to change and customize the font colors at the very least but am turning up nothing. Anyone have any suggestions, alternatives, or hints? I know some themes age out, but I suspect this is purely an OS-related setting that might've been locked down or something? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 15 Dec 2019 09:35 AM PST Hey there, recently my S7 has been giving me some issues. The screen is black yet still responsive which I have seen tons of ways to fix. But, in my case I can see the notification bar and I haven't seen any topics on this happening to someone before. I've tried booting into safe mode and recovery mode. The closest I got was getting the android logo to flash very quickly so I know the screen is not dead at least. Just hoping to get some help, thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 15 Dec 2019 03:26 AM PST Recently I upgraded from Xiaomi Mi 6 to Mi 9t pro. Now I have a small, but very powerful paperweight. What can I do with it? I've looked through Google and posts on here, but nothing caught my eye. I was thinking about making it control my 3d printer, but I'm not sure how to do that. Then I thought to make it into a TV box, but again I don't know if that's even possible. Last thing I have, and that's what I'm going to do FOR NOW - leave it plugged in and connected for research. My mom keeps getting tons of spam on her gmail account, so I told her to set up a filter but I found out you can't do that on Gmail for free, apparently... So next best thing: I tell her to block the addresses that send spam, I try to show her the "Block [email]" option, but it doesn't appear on her phone! I don't understand why, and I can't find information on that issue on the web. Is there a Google account setting somewhere that prevents you from blocking people or something? | Posted: 15 Dec 2019 01:54 AM PST Due to periodic internet issues lately (that may well be on my ISP's end as everything seems fine on my end), I've been looking into using a hotspot for things like work. However, despite connecting successfully and using my phone's built-in hotspot option rather than a third-party app, I can't actually connect to any sites. Network diagnostics say that I'm connected and that there aren't any errors, but I can't connect to anything. If it helps, I'm on a Galaxy J7 Crown. Also, I use a StraightTalk plan with 25GB a month @ 4G (I've considered that this might be where my issue lies, but I'm not positive). With all of this in mind, is there anything extra that I need to do to use a hotspot? I'm a little bit puzzled on why I'm connecting successfully but still getting no actual internet beyond the possibility of the network that I'm using. I've searched around online looking for assistance without any luck at all, so if anyone can offer any additional insight, I'd greatly appreciate it. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 15 Dec 2019 11:09 AM PST Pixel 3a, stock Android version 10 I have many complaints about the Android "gallery" behavior and performance, but should I really have to go to "More..." and not "Screenshots" to find screenshots I just took? And even then "More..." might not have them (yet? Until I reboot?). I remember having to change permissions on (I think) "Screenshots" to even get anything to ever show up without having to use Total Commander, but surely lightning wouldn't strike the same place twice, would it? | Looking for podcast app that allows me to choose where to download Posted: 15 Dec 2019 08:57 AM PST I currently use a mix of iSyncr to sync with iTunes on my macbook and the Google podcast app. I want a podcast app that will allow me to save downloads to my sd card, not use internal storage. I'm in my car a lot and prefer to download episodes because of inconsistent connection. Other features that would be nice: statistics. Easy to rewind/fast forward while driving. Lockscreen control. | Posted: 15 Dec 2019 08:40 AM PST Sorry if this is the wrong sub for this, but I've noticed lately when using the any Voice Assistant with Bluetooth, instead of the default assistant responding to my wake up command, I get the "Choose a voice service" prompt. I select it, and choose "Always", but then it happens again when I try again. I am on a Galaxy Note 9 with Android Pie. Has anyone else had this issue? [link] [comments] |

| Question about recieving bluetooth Posted: 15 Dec 2019 07:30 AM PST I'm trying to revive audio from a bluetooth transmitter on my android device. I cant even see the transmitter to pair with it while in TX mode. When it's in receiver mode, it is shown on the available list. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the codecs where the transmitter was design to pair with headphones rather than an Android phone or tablet. Posted: 14 Dec 2019 09:27 PM PST Hi, just got a USB-C Android phone (note 10) and now trying to connect it to the AUX in my car and charge it at the same using a magnetic charging cable (like the ones on amazon, with interchangeable tips). My approach doesn't work. Would appreciate your advice. Using the following: Magnetic charging cables come as USB-A and on the other end interchangeable tips (they all come as usba on one of the ends). The USBC to USBC power + 3.5 mm dongle Car charger - output as USBA So the chain is car charger USBA ---> USBA male to USBC male magnetic cable --> USBC female Dongle that outputs 3.5mm audio + USBC male --> USBC female to USBA male dongle --> USBA female to USBA female dongle --> USBA to USBC magnetic cable that connect to the phone. Every component of the chain seems to work separately but when put together they don't work. I can post links with amzn products but don't know if this is allowed. Has anybody done anything like this? I would really like to use a magnetic charging cable to avoid wear and tear on the usb port. [link] [comments] |
