How do you find good games on Play Market?

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 04:47 AM PST

Seems that every year Play Market becomes more and more swarmed with very low quality or extremely boring stuff. Multiplied by all the clones. For almost a year I have no single game installed because literally all I see is: MMO, idle, online strategies, games for kids, flappybird, pixel graphics, geometric something, platformers, etc. All that looks exactly the same and always awful.

I see no use in "recommendations" or categories because they are just so useless whenever I try to find something new.

One trick that worked for me two or three years ago was to watch YouTube compilations with recommendations but now they do just the same. Play Market at least does not force you to listen to overvolumed retarded music.

    How do you find anything?

Also, does someone know any good android games that are free, don't require internet and are not idle? I most look forward to strategies or RPG but others thing will do too.

[REQUEST] Looking for a "the incredible machine"-like type of game

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 08:49 AM PST

Recently I thought about the old Sierra game, The Incredible Machine but as far as I know there isn't a recent incarnation of the game. Is there a similar game with the same gameplay, maybe without microtransactions or bothering ads?

[Request] Looking for Some New-To-Me Suggestions

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 07:17 AM PST

I prefer premium games, or games where I can spend money up-front to unlock the entire game. I am open to any genre. I prefer games that are single-player, offline, and turn-based so that I can stop in the middle and pick them up later.

Seriously, throw a title at me and I'll play it to see what I think. Going through the playstore is impossible.

The following is a list of games I enjoyed/enjoy. I am going to bold games that I absolutely love.

Card Games: Card Quest, Guild of Dungeoneering, Meteor Fall, Pirates Outlaws, Card Thief

Strategy: Concrete Jungle, X-Com, Spectral Souls (Haven't gotten so far into it but I enjoy it), Final Fantasy: Tactics

Tower Defense: Anomaly Warzone Earth (Well, that is it, but I am open to more.)

Puzzle Games: Snowman, Human Resource Machine, Framed, The Girl Who Sold The World (Not really a puzzle game but whatever)

RPGS: Dungeons of Chaos, Sproggiwood, Buriedbornes, Vampires Fall, WitchSpring3, Chrono Trigger, Knights of Pen and Paper

Monster Collection: Siralim (I really like this genre. I loved Monster Rancher as a kid but Siralim isn't exactly what I am looking for. I am super picky in this genre but I am 100% open to any and all suggestions.)

    [DEV] Roast my game

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 07:30 AM PST

I present you HungryFIN, An action-adventure platformer. The game that was going to be a simple fish eat fish to grow bigger that would get me into gamedev has become something for a monster project that finally has reached the end of the tunnel. (It is soft-launched on Android and now preparing for full release on both Android and iPhone)

The gameplay loop is: You eat smaller fish to grow bigger as one of the seven playable fish has two unique abilities that you can level up and improve. If you play the adventure levels, the goal is to reach the end, and if you play the infinity level goal is to become as big as possible and survive as long as possible.

    Some technical features:

    - I spent a lot amount of time to create fish AI where every fish can show emotions and have different behaviors based on context. But now in hindsight, perhaps really not needed since people eat them in 2 sec.

    - Physical interactions with the environment, you drop stones on fish and solve puzzles

    - A lot of optimization was required. Since i want it to run smoothly on phones and each level could have a lot of fish with their context AI i had to implement some smart solutions like only activating fish when needed and in proximity.

    - Procedural Animation on bigger fish and the playable characters. Their body bends based on your velocity and direction.

I have been working on this so long that i have become blind. In my head, it seems to be a pretty solid game that should do well (I have redone the core game five times so it better), but i feel i need to face the truth from some more serious AndroidGamers (I have some reviews on the Play store but they are not really useful)

So please post your honest opinion, and you get extra points if you make it brutal.

    Thank you for your time.

[REQUEST] Looking for a city builder with potentially some pvp

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 06:51 AM PST

I am looking for a city builder with some specific things. I would like to play something that allows me to build a nice village/city, even better if there is some kind of deep/heavy management to be done. If possible, I would also like to recruit soldiers and fight in any kind of PvP mode, but I don't like the city to be permanently destroyed, if I am explaining myself.

So, just to give you some points

    1. City builder, even better if with a medieval theme, or even just not a modern one (both Eastern and Western are welcome).
    2. Some PvP, I like to have some extra challenges inside it
    3. Free or paid, I don't care as long as it is not P2W. Or at least, not heavily unbalanced in favor of who pays.

Can you help me out? :D

    Thanks

[DEV] EMM - Easy Macro Maker (a macro maker tool I made)

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 10:27 AM PST

I don't know if this is related but I just made a program to easily create macroes for games and It support both Nox and MEmu. It's not technically an app for android but it can be used when playing android games so.... I don't know. Mod can remove this if seem inappropriate.

    Here's the main site: https://www.kok-emm.com/

You can get everything from there, including download links, tut page, video tut. Macro list. It's empty for now so I hope that people gonna use the program and upload something.

You can watch a quick showcase video I made here: https://youtu.be/PrALZiksmxw (Sorry for my crappy voice)

You can check this post in r/AnotherEdenGlobal where I talk about the development of the program.

A quick run down of the features:

    • Support Nox and MEmu.
    • Automatically apply script.
    • Output to any Resolution.
    • Randomize location.
    • Automatically get the location.
    • Test selected Actions without rerun the whole macro.
    • Manage every actions easily with familiar operation like Copy, Cut, Paste, Delete or Move them around.
    • Tools: Timer, Resolution Converter.
    • Dedicated software: AEMG-EX for Another Eden game.
    • Dedicated website where you can easily upload, find macroes made by other users.

Planned for next updates: Add support to both LDPlayer and BlueStack.

If you have any questions. Post in the comment, pm me or use the site contact page

This project took me over 3 months to complete (2 desktop programs and 1 website). If you like my work. You can support me by just register on site so I can brag about user count on job interview :D. I made this so I can get a job as a developer (still learning how to code, not yet a dev). You can also donate so I can atleast pay for the cost of hosting the website (who would have guess hosing a site cost money :o). Thanks for reading.

P/s: Since It's New Year. I've prepared a gift on my site. It's kinda hidden though. Post in the comment what you get :D

    Looking for new/upcoming strategy games

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 10:18 AM PST

I'm looking for an upcoming strategy game that I can sink all of my time into. I also play Clash of Clans of that gives an insight into the kind of games I'm into.

My reasoning for this is that if I get into a game early on in it's release, then I can look at creating the meta rather than following it. Any help will be appreciated.

What are some great PC to Android ports?

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 09:14 AM PST

Games like Game Dev Tycoon, Don't Starve, etc. I'm not looking for any particular genre, just high quality games that aren't designed with the typical crappy mobile free to play model. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Is there a good telescopic mobile gamepad that will fit the Note10+? Has to have support for non controller games

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 08:59 AM PST

It pisses me off when game developers don't include controller support for their games and I just found out about the PXN P30 that let's you map keys so you can use the controller with games that don't natively support controllers. Thing is the description of the device says it only supports phones upto 6"

Can anyone recommend a telescopic mobile gamepad that will fit the Note10+ and also allows for key mapping

Trying to remember a Seasonal Hero: Rudolph Parody

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 08:30 AM PST

Trying to remember a Seasonal Hero: Rudolph Parody

I remember seeing a mobile game that featured a seasonal parody of Rudolph. The only thing I can draw from my foggy memory is his last name, One-Night. But he was buff, anthro and wielded (I believe) a sword.

The following pic is as close as I can get to what he looked like:

Shield controller pair to phone for COD mobile?

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 08:18 AM PST

Hi all, I've a 2017 shield controller that pairs with my phone. In cod it has the pause fuctionality and the home button functionality but that is it. This proves that it is connected and some input is passing through but not all. Is there another step i need to take? I've turned on controller support in the game itself.

The LEGO games in particular were just... fun. I didn't have to spend hours browsing this subreddit.

[NOT DEV] FINALLY a 2D MMORPG No auto No P2W

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 06:27 AM PST

After looking for months I've finally found an MMORPG that wasn't a mindless idle, essentially TV show, "MMORPG" and didn't encourage spending $100 to be relevant in the game.

    Naica Online!

It's in closed Alpha but you can donate for instant access or just play for free in guest mode(limits you obviously.)

Really excited about the future of the game!

PS: currently most staff is on vacation til the 6th but you can get plenty of help on their Naica Discord!

    Thanks for reading!

"My Turn" is the best TCG I played since Hearthstone

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 03:22 PM PST

I've recently found out about this game because of a user that spammed this sub with gameplay vids.

I tried it out and it's AMAZING, bad translations but nothing that bad, mediocre voice acting but the gameplay is so good.

In terms of monetization, seems fair enought. It does have a 5usd season pass that makes you progress faster (x2 exactly), no energy sistem but a nice x2 bonus for the first 20 kills)

I don't know what else to say, I really hope you enjoy the game as much as I do.
