Best way sync directories between Android and Windows 10? Posted: 28 Nov 2019 04:59 AM PST I'm using Android P and Windows 10. What is the best way to 2-way sync a directory between Android and Windows? I want to do only local sync with my wifi or USB cable. I don't want to do any syncing that involves a cloud service. Thanks! PS: The directory will have multiple sub-directories. I want it so if I change a file on either device, that change will automatically be made to the same file on the other device. I'm looking at syncthing.net and other apps. I only want to use apps that are being actively maintained. I don't want to use any abandoned apps that are no longer being updated. Thanks! I'm happy to pay for an app that does this well. Any recommendations much appreciated. Is Syncthing widely considered the best solution for this? [link] [comments] |
Does anyone know this notification sound? Posted: 28 Nov 2019 11:46 AM PST The link has an excerpt from an anime with a notification sound that interested me. I've heard it elsewhere, but I don't know it. Karakai Jouzo no Takagi-San 2 [link] [comments] |
Any app that list the number of AP installed + system apps? Posted: 28 Nov 2019 11:06 AM PST The issue that I have is when my note 8 get a security update, it optimizes about 420 apps while a few updates before it was only about 150. I count the number of installed apps and it's 165 and I don't think there are 260+ system apps, but want to make sure. Phone isn't slow nor does the battery drains any faster but I'm just wondering why there is is such a jump. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Finding out exact times phone was unlocked Posted: 28 Nov 2019 09:41 AM PST I hava a Samsung A40 with Android V9 and last night I spent time with my ex who I have recently broken up with but am still friends with. She got jealous that I was talking to a girl on Bumble and when I opened my phone today (after sleeping at my ex's) I noticed that the girl I had talked to was gone. I found her on facebook and asked if she had unmatched me but she said no and we have talked the whole day since. My ex claims Im crazy for blaming her but when I went into the "Digital Wellbeing" menu, I noticed a blip at 8am (when I was asleep) on the bumble app. It still said 0min of usage but there was a blip. In the digital wellbeing menu I can see how maby times my phone has been opened today, but I can not see at what time. My question is: Is there a way to check times when the screen was opened on Android v9? Is it possible to dig up the logs by connecting to the computer? [link] [comments] |
Phone says data is corrupted and that I have to do a factory reset Posted: 28 Nov 2019 09:31 AM PST This morning I was on my phone and it stopped responding completely but the screen was still turned on. My first reflex was to take the battery out after waiting a few minutes to see if anything would happend. I took it out, checked if it was hot, nope, so I put it back in the phone immediately. It took way longer than usual to turn on but I wasn't that worried until I got an error message saying "Can't load Android system. Your data may be corrupt. you may need to perform a factory data resetand erase all user data stored on this device." I CAN'T lose all data on this phone, I have picures of documents that I don't have physically, lots of pictures that have sentimental value like everyone else, notes for my job and my hobbies and important numbers that aren't saved on my SIM card. The only two options I have are either "try again" or "factory data reset", the try again option immediately gives me an error screen, then the phone seems to turn on but then I get the same message about the corrupted data and factory reset. Is there any way that I can get back some of my data with my computer or just avoid this factory reset ? I really need help I can't lose everything. I don't know shit about phones so anything helps. Help Transferring / BackingUp Phone Gallery Posted: 28 Nov 2019 09:15 AM PST I don't know much about phones, and I have an S7Edge. Basically, I want to transfer my phone's files (mostly the gallery), onto my PC. I want to delete them, but have copies on my PC. I have previously tried to upload a bunch of images onto services like Photos, Google Drive, etc, but I have too many to upload and have run into a wide range of problems doing that. I've tried connecting my phone to my PC via usb, but there are always files that I can't see on my pc, and I don't know which files are saved to my phone and which are saved to my sim card. In the past, even after I've gone through and deletes the files through my PC there have still been a lot left on my phone that I struggle to locate on the PC. I have also backed up my phone onto the samsung cloud, as one would before factory resetting it, but I don't know how to / if I can view the backup's content on my PC. One issue is that my gallery content is sorted into different folders, some folders being in Private, some not, some backed up - it's a mess. Again, not sure where half of these are actually saved to on my phone. The other issue is that even if I want to manually go through my images and move them, a random assortment of them have been replaced by the samsung cloud logo. I don't want to move or delete these files because I don't have any clue what they are. I'll try to attach an image as reference but I'm new to reddit so that might go tits up too. As you can tell, I'm an absolute amateur when it comes to this stuff. I don't understand phones, don't understand clouds. I'm very much out of my comfort zone. So any help would be hugely appreciated. A TL;dr: - How do I see images in my gallery that are currently just the cloud logo? - How do I ensure everything in my gallery is backed up and viewable on another device? - Please help me, I'm so very confused [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Nov 2019 08:45 AM PST I have no issues watching youtube or netflix as well as listening to music with these headphones. Yet there seems to be an almost 1sec delay when I'm playing on my emulators (drastic and ppsspp). Is there a way for me to fix this and/or does anyone know why this is happening in the first place? x265 playback causes battery drain on Android Posted: 28 Nov 2019 08:43 AM PST Hi guys, I have a little question about x265 videos on an Android device. Do new devices still have a battery drain problem when playing x265 encoded videos? I have a SD665 SoC device with a 4000mah battery and playing a 25 minute TV episode on MX Player with HW+ decoder activated drains almost 10% battery. This seems somewhat excessive to me. Is anybody else faced with this problem? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Nov 2019 08:30 AM PST Should I let my note 9 go through one charge cycle every so often? Right now I try to keep my phone's battery percentage at 60-80 [link] [comments] |
Is there any way to turn off a specific system ui notification? Posted: 28 Nov 2019 08:23 AM PST I recently discovered that you can use Do Not Disturb mode as a robocall filter. I want to leave it on all the time, but I don't want the constant notification that it's on. Is there any way to turn off that specific system ui notification, without turning them all off? I tried looking in advanced notifications, to no avail. I'm on a Samsung Galaxy s7, Android version 8.0.0. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |

How to unbrick galaxy j7 - please help Posted: 28 Nov 2019 07:38 AM PST So I'm trying to install TWRP using Odin, and it wasn't working the first few times for some reason. On the 5th try or so, it bricked the phone. It's now stuck on the galaxy j7 screen. The only things it can do are go into Odin mode and turn on and off and thats about it. It won't go into recovery mode. Please help, what do I do to unbrick it? Thanks in advance Edit: Ok so I downloaded firmware from firmware.mobi and installed it using odin. I have now unbricked the phone. [link] [comments] |

Pushing files to my Android device Posted: 28 Nov 2019 04:31 AM PST I work in IT and I couldn't help but notice the benefits of Ansible and Chef. Both are automation tools used to configure or send files to various endpoints. I was wondering, is there was something similar I can use for my Android device? One situation I can think of is that I keep a master list of my household's music library on my main computer. It would be convenient if I could 'push' the catalog of music to my wife's and mine phone wirelessly over night. Normally I just connect it and transfer the files, but it would be nice to automate the process over the wifi. [link] [comments] |

Editing build.prop to download unsupported apps Posted: 28 Nov 2019 03:15 AM PST I have recently learned that my revolut app stopped working due to my phone being too old? Since this is complete bullshit I started researching ways to bypass this. I came across editing your build.prop file but play store still sees my device as my device. I have tried editing manufacturer and model, then manufacturer, model, brand, device, board, fingerprint (this lead my phone to stop working properly), tried it on two different phones, updated my phone to pie (lineageos) . Can someone help me? I have tried this on following devices: Motorola G5 running android 8.1 (lineage) and 9.0 (lineage) Huawei p8 running stock android 6.0 [link] [comments] |
