The weird thing is my phone turns itself on whenever i turn it off and plug in the charger! It keeps switching back on, but it doesnt say if its charging and instead tells me to charge even if it is already plugged in but aint chargin. Any advice? [link] [comments] |

Factory reset s9+, pressing some app icons opens the play store entry instead of the app Posted: 17 Nov 2019 07:42 AM PST I just did a factory reset bc the phone was suddenly so buggy and laggy. I reinstalled all the apps with Samsung's backup restore app. But now when i click an app (say Reddit), i tap the Reddit icon and it brings me to the play store entry for the Reddit app, where i have to tap "open" or "uninstall". Why is it doing this?? [link] [comments] |
Keyboard autocorrecting and suggesting different language Posted: 17 Nov 2019 11:52 AM PST I have my keyboard set to English and Mandarin. It keeps suggesting words in Croatian, autocorrecting some words to Croatian, and when I use swype, some words become Croatian. I checked my keyboard languages and there's only English and Mandarin (Taiwan). I have a Huawei y7 Prime. I haven't typed In Croatian before. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Nov 2019 11:52 AM PST My S7 of 4 years is super slow and can't handle some apps. Google maps especially makes it nearly unresponsive most times. Any suggestions? Delete apps? Reinstall android? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Nov 2019 11:10 AM PST Has anyone who has used Android X86 noticed that there are ads that pop up in the Google Play Store? For example, if you were to search for Google maps there are a couple sponsored results that show up before the actual app result. This is without installing any other apps prior so I don't think there's a separate app causing this. I've only noticed this in the play store that's bundled with Android X86 (downloaded from their website) and not on my Pixel 2 or other Android phones. Wondering if other Android X86 users have experienced the same or could test. If this is the case, kind of makes me weary of using it despite how great this project is. [link] [comments] |
Pixel 2 Fi Stock Android 10 Google Camera won't save images since upgrade to Android 10 Posted: 17 Nov 2019 11:06 AM PST Pixel 2 (non-XL) Stock Android 10, Google Fi. Since upgrading to Android 10 a couple months ago, Google Camera will take photos but they won't ever get stored to the filesystem or appear in Photos app. Other camera apps like Camera FV work fine. Alternate Google Camera APKs like Camera PX also fail. Seems to be a common problem with a lot of proposed witchcraft solutions. Have tried clearing cache and data for Google Camera and Photos apps. Also have connected ADB and done a logcat while taking a photo to capture debug dump info. Nothing there really jumps out at me, because I don't know what is normal output. Would really like to NOT have to factory wipe the phone just to solve what's clearly a software/config issue.I can post logcat info if anyone cares to look at it. Also tried uninstalling updates to Photos and Camera. None of which has helped. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 17 Nov 2019 09:13 AM PST I have an app that places an ad on it's lockscreen and then provides credits to me. I was wondering if there was an app that could display a black overlay over the ad. Like this: App shows lockscreen -> overlay app detects that -> overlay app shows black overlay, hiding ad. EDIT: Android Pie, willing to use developer settings [link] [comments] |
It's taking hours to receive text messages Posted: 17 Nov 2019 08:57 AM PST This just started happening the past few days. I don't need a software update. Other message apps work fine but when someone texts me, I don't receive the texts until hours later. [link] [comments] |
Gmail no longer giving me notifications? Posted: 17 Nov 2019 08:46 AM PST Title, sync is on and notifications are enabled but like 4 days ago I stopped getting notified for new emails. I have to go into the app manually to see if I got anything. Pixel 2 on Android Q, completely up to date. Anybody else run into something similar? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 17 Nov 2019 07:38 AM PST I found my old S7 and thought about using it as a secondary device, or selling it. After launching it up, I realised that I had no clue what my passcode was, and after being locked out for 45 seconds I gave up trying to guess. Is there any kind of third-party way of resetting the device? [link] [comments] |
Moto G6 Play battery drain from unknown source Posted: 17 Nov 2019 06:41 AM PST Hi, My step father got a Moto G6 Play (unlocked) from Costco Canada about a year ago. It is currently running Android 9. The phone has been working fine until about 2 weeks ago. The battery started draining about 5% per hour, even if all background apps have been killed and the phone as been resting on a table with the screen turned off. What's really weird is that if I go in the battery usage information in the parameters menu, it says "Android System" and "Cell radio sleep" (or something like that, phone is not in English, I don't know the exact name in English) both use only 1%... and nothing else. I tried Accu Battery and Greenify but couldn't get any usefull information out of them either. THe phone doesn't have many apps installed on it so I went through most of them to disable them during sleep, with no success. My next step would be to restore the phone to factory defaults, but I'd like to avoid that if possible. I was wondering if anyone had another idea before trying this? Thank you [link] [comments] |

Does playing a 1080x1440 (16:9 aspect ratio) video in a 720x1600 phone decreases the quality a bit? Posted: 17 Nov 2019 03:33 AM PST If I play a youtube video in 1080p quality, that's actually 1080x1440 (16:9 aspect ratio) resolution, right? Realme 5 vs Redmi note 7 comparison: 720x1600 | 1080x2340 I'm wondering if realme 5 only supports up to 720px (in height), but it supports up to 1600px (in width). Will that decreases the quality of the video a bit compared to playing it on a Redmi Note 7 that supports up to 1080x2340? Or I will get the same 'Full HD' quality of a 1080x1440 video on both resolution in my naked eye? [link] [comments] |

Compressor for Android system audio Posted: 16 Nov 2019 10:30 PM PST I have a Galaxy S8. I listen to podcasts. Many podcasts are poorly produced, with a dynamic range (i.e. the difference between the loudest and quietest sounds) that is WAY too high. Sometimes people talk so quietly I can't hear them, and then moments later they're screaming into the mic blowing out my eardrums. The answer is simple: a compressor. It's a tool used by any sound engineer who passed "Audio Production 101". But like I said, many podcasts are poorly produced. When I say "compressor" here I am NOT referring to a file size reducer that, for example, converts WAV's to MP3's. I'm talking about dynamic range compression. And I'm looking for an app that does it to system audio. Something with basic compression controls like "ratio", "threshold", "attack", "release", and "gain". Does anyone know of such an app? I've googled, but cannot find anything. I'm shocked something like this doesn't already exist in droves, because the problem I described is extremely common and extremely annoying. I'd pay money for an app that does this. Any recommendations are much appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Nov 2019 05:29 PM PST I'm having an issue were i keep getting redirected to random sites at intervals when no browser is open. It even interrupts any app that's currently running. I've browsed solutions but none are working. Some of the random sites are system-sms.com and jurgap.space. Does anyone have a solution? [link] [comments] |
Battery drain while traveling? Posted: 16 Nov 2019 10:16 PM PST Did anyone notice or got the feeling that when traveling (at least away from the current city) either by car or train that the battery starts to drain a little bit faster? I noticed this problem since I had my Galaxy S2 7yrs ago. [link] [comments] |
