Online multiplayer riichi mahjong with anime graphics. It has a tutorial that teaches you how to play. The gameplay tells you when you can make a hand and such, so it's easier to pickup for beginners.

The gacha is only for cosmetics (player skins, emotes etc) that don't affect gameplay. Make sure to claim the preregister rewards when you login.

PSA : Razer Phone 2 on sale for $299 for Black Friday / Cyber weekend - I just picked mine up, here are my initial thoughts

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 08:19 AM PST

tldr; this phone is insane (in the best possible way), and its only $299 this weekend, https://www.razer.com/promos/cyber-weekend-black-friday

I just replaced my S7 Edge with the razer 2. IMO, there isn't a better phone out there for gaming at this price point (it can compete with the top flagships of other major brands). It really was designed with gamers use cases in mind.

Here are my first impressions for anyone on the fence

    Pros:
    - Very affordable (comparatively) to other mid tier pricing for flagship quality internals (Snapdragon 845, Adreno 630 GPU, 8GB of RAM). Other phones can beat it, but they cost 3x the sale price for a little better hardware. IMO you can't beat the bang for your buck with this phone.

    - Unlocked OOB if you don't buy from a carrier (serviceable with most Carriers, see cons for Verizon as there is an exception, I'm a verizon customer)

    - Really high quality display, 120 Hz refresh rate, ultra crisp picture

    - Plays call of duty mobile with the 120 hz refresh rate at 60 FPS easily in my experience

    - Barebones android software, no bloatware, except for a few gaming related (and actually helpful) Razer apps

    - Huge battery (4000 mAH), it lasted me around 4 hours without plugging in playing COD with a Bluetooth controller connected

    - Expandable memory

    - USB-C

    - Quality speakers

    - Cool LED backing feature (you can change the color of the LED razer logo, which is pretty cool, if a little gimicky)

    - Really easy to apply a screen protector without bubbles, because the thing is a straight rectangle

    Cons:

    - No headphone jack, there is a USB-C Dongle to accomodate it (this was my biggest con with it)
    - On Verizon, texting didn't work OOB. Data and calling was fine. I did some research and I guess I need to call Verizon to get them to add a CDMA-Less profile to it.

    - Camera isn't as great as other flagships. The camera is definitely serviceable and gets the job done, but don't expect Samsung or Google flagship quality
    - Body design isn't for everyone, it isn't as pretty as other alternatives and it is pretty bulky/heavy

    - The microphone (on my model) has a slight tingy noise to it, people I've called told me it was slightly annoying when I would say certain words

    - The speaker mesh is hard to clean, it can collect dust and other particulate

Overall I couldn't be happier for the price, this phone is awesome. The cons are really minimal and things that aren't that important to me in a phone (being a gamer). It has everything I could possibly want and it runs anything that I tried to run on Android flawlessly.

I'm also a game developer, so I plan on building something that will be very graphic intensive (with no plans to actually release it, since the majority of phones out there won't be able to handle what the Razer 2 can) just to test the phone out, we'll see what it can do.

Recommend me a good paid single-player android game

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 11:15 AM PST

I haven't really played any mobile games since I was a teen. Feels like most mobile games these days are just ad-ridden or pay2win trash.

So I'd like to give them a try again.

    The game should be:

Under 10€ (or just free with no ads and microtransactions whatsoever)

    Single-Player

    Not an FPS or JRPG

Being story based is a plus but not a requirement

ARPG Hack 'n' Slash Recommendations Mega-Thread

ARPG Hack 'n' Slash Recommendations Mega-Thread

So, this seems to be one of the most oft-requested things that I see around these parts. To be honest, I came to this sub by-way of searching around for Diablo-likes on Android so I'm part of the problem, heh. Because of this, I thought I'd put together some thoughts/recommendations/etc. around the theme of ARPGs, and welcome others to do the same so we could have something of a evergreen post for users who are in similar situations.

To do some table-setting, so to speak, I'll define the kind of games I'm featuring/looking for in this thread:

    • Loot-based to some degree (part of the fun should be grinding/looting to get better and better gear)
    • Does not rely too much on auto-play (I prefer no auto-play at all, but some people it seems don't care/like it?)
    • Real-time combat, not turn based (yes that means no Vampire's Fall for me.)
    • No ridiculous IAPs (this isn't a set-in-stone rule, but you should be able to get longevity out of the game without having to pump money into it)
    • Ads kept to a minimum - not against them but if every 2 minutes you're getting blasted with an ad, that's annoying.
    • Other notes: Yes I know you can emulate the original using a PS1 emulator (or other systems with similar games)

Here's some to start things up:

    AnimA

    Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ExiliumGames.Anima&hl=en

    https://preview.redd.it/ohhh5jvpw3141.jpg?width=1182&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=01ff242dddaf56fdeb2cb940e9de81ac92716784

Okay, this is one of the most talked-about games in here so I'm getting it out of the way first. There's little IAP (aside from like, one dollar for more storage space) in this game, and though it doesn't have a ton of variety, the mechanics are solid and it scratches that Diablo-like itch. It has gem-combining and socketing, gear identification without scrolls, gear upgrading, and the levels aren't so big that you get lost in them but are substantial enough that you don't feel like you're blasting through them.

As /u/LordMaarg mentions in the comments below, there are issues with AnimA's saving (utilizing the Google Play cloud save) where you may lose saves. Hopefully this changes, but FYI/something to keep in mind.

    Arcane Quest Legends

    Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nex.xquestarpg1&hl=en_CA

    https://preview.redd.it/9l0ulnurw3141.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=105aa6ba46a267f52a18dffdc77f324ff1f16992

I've only payed a few hours of this one, but I'm enjoying it so far; there are ads in this game but they seem to be very few and far between. This one is more of a behind-the-shoulder type game but the loot and mechanics feel good, and you can either plow through mainline quests or do side-quests available from a mailbox in your hub world. You need gem-things to identify, which can be a pinch annoying. It also seems like the difficulty does arc up a little bit more than your average leveling so it's a bit grindy to some degree. I think my least favourite elements to this game is that you can control the camera, and swinging it around while in battle gets mighty annoying.

    Battleheart Legacy

    Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.MikaMobile.BattleheartLegacy&hl=en_CA

    https://preview.redd.it/zz9yl06vw3141.jpg?width=1136&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c991d577980fd75b42acb5a05e067c25025bf178

This is an older game (2014) but it's a one-time paid game that seems worth it to me (so far.) You can tap-to-walk or hold-to-walk, the areas lend themselves to doing the "leave the area, wait for cooldowns, enter again" scam, but otherwise this has been my daily driver for the last couple days. Save up some Google Survey rewards bucks and put it towards this, or wait for a sale, but it's a solid choice.

    Flare: Empyrean Campaign

    Link: http://flarerpg.org/index.php/mods/flare-empyrean/

    Android Port Link: https://github.com/flareteam/flare-engine/wiki/Android-Port

    https://preview.redd.it/8d1ea0ubw3141.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=fca5bcb8f4ccf69523cd993cb3c3141897951054

This is not available in the Google Play store, but I'll give a quick explanation as to why. Flare is actually an open-source Diablo-like that has been designed specifically so that people can mod/create their own campaigns and content with it (to some degree.) It's community-focused in that way, but the Flare team themselves created the "Empyrean Campaign" which in itself is a substantial ARPG/Diablo-like experience. You might even notice that Exiled Kingdoms - another popular choice for this kind of game - uses a bunch of the same FlareRPG assets.

The game is PC-based, but you can actually play it using an Android port, but getting it running takes a few steps. The jist of the steps are: a) follow the second link above to download an APK and install b) using that same link, you download the game data zip and extract it to the proper folder as described on the github and then c) you have to load the data in the app which is fairly self explanatory once you launch.

What you end up with is a pretty great ARPG campaign and the ability to load other community campaigns as well. I had some fun with this one, though it's pretty basic/bare bones, but it's definitely one of the better experiences if you're looking for a decidedly old-school type game of this ilk.

If all of that sounds like too much for you, I did notice that there's an app in the store called "FlareX Immortal: Old Style" which seems to be the Empyrean Campaign but with added ads and other elements - once I noticed that, I deleted it and just installed the real port myself.

    Heroism

    Link: https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidGaming/comments/cenz26/heroism_rpgincremental/

    https://preview.redd.it/3zwx62yvy3141.jpg?width=460&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a7544b844dc64b03560b1f6f9276c2d4c2c0a970

This is another one that you can't technically just jump to a download page, but through the reddit link above you can become a beta tester and start playing. This game almost reminds me more of Hero Quest on PC (and there's an android port as well I believe) with its bit-graphics. Heroism also has a bit of a rogue-like feel to its dungeons, though it's not turn-based so it still deserves to be on this list imo. You get tons of loot, slay tons of monsters, can sell all the junk and continue on your way through the quests - basically the loop feels pretty good. When you die, you get death points that can ultimately be collected and used for buff-type things, which is why it almost feels roguelike-y, but not so much that distracts. There's also incremental-elements as well, if that's your thing. Definitely worth a look!

    Dungeon Chronicle

    Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.BUNKERim.DC&hl=en

    https://preview.redd.it/0ieal6pyx3141.jpg?width=2208&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=459dcd44384e8678c3f3704ac278f79d0b45e857

This game is very Diablo-like in the sense that it feels like never-ending rifts, basically. The levels are very point-A to point-B, once you get far enough a level-boss spawns, tons of loot drops (as you can see above) and you can equip different types of weapons from guns to swords and things in between. If you are looking for straight-up big-ass numbers filling your screen that just get higher and higher, and tons of Diablo-style loot, this is a good one. I haven't played it in a long time so I can't completely remember how many ads there are, or how it relies on in-app purchases so I'll let others chime in with that below.

    Titan Quest

    Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dotemu.titanquest

    https://preview.redd.it/tltsqi22f8141.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=b142eacba5b41a033673b29b10563b6e0880cd80

A classic PC game ported to the mobile platform. I played this a lot on PC, and eventually bought it on Switch, but for some reason none of the ports have felt just right to me - that was originally why I didn't include it in this list, but with all the comments I figure I really should since it's a classic game, is a one-time purchase, and will be super satisfying for a big audience of people looking for that Diablo-feel.

    Exiled Kingdoms

    Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.fdgames.ek.android

    https://preview.redd.it/iybyl9i9g8141.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=8e07ffebf42f140f77c853edf1b1cb73f7ccdc66

Exiled Kingdoms took me some time to get into; I installed and uninstalled this a number of times before finally settling in and playing a bunch of hours of it. It's a great balance of Diablo-y mechanics and story-based questing. From what I remember, there's a one-time IAP if you'd like to unlock certain content? You can recruit party members, which is great, and a lot of your interactions have branching-style dialogues so it's not the kind of game you'll spend mindlessly tapping through dialogue either.

    And here's some more...

...that I either a) don't have a ton to say about or b) didn't play a whole lot of for whatever reasons. If other people have thoughts on these - or other games - throw 'em in the comments! I can always update this main post as well to keep things update like a mega-thread style situation.

    Eternium https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.makingfun.mageandminions

A classic, though there's a lot of in-app purchases/micro-transactions and the like now. I still boot this up from time to time because I still enjoy the gameplay, but where the game stands these days regarding the VIP/paid stuff might put off some new players.

    Dungeon Quest https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shinybox.smash

This is an older one too, I know I had a couple hours of fun with it but it didn't stick in my mind to be honest.

    Heretic Gods https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.curacha.hereticgods

I know I've played this game, because Play store tells me I've installed it in the past, but I don't recall if I dug it or not.

    Restless Dungeon https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.MoustacheBanana.RestlessDungeon

    Powerlust https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bartmamzer.powerlust.actionrpg.roguelike

    Triglav https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.SmokymonkeyS.Triglav

This one was interesting, and I actually did like some of the puzzles involved here; it seemed like there was more going on than just brainless murdering and looting. It didn't last on my phone though, for whatever reasons.

Implosion - Never Lose Hope https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rayark.implosion

    Mirage Realms https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foxcake.mirage.android

MMORPG style game with pixel graphics; I've only played like 30 minutes of this and it isn't really for me but I could see people who are looking for a grindy game with other real-players in the world this could fit that bill!

    Monolisk https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tricksterarts.monolisk

Interesting take on the hack 'n' slash where users can build their own level/dungeons. Played this one for an hour or two and it never stuck on my phone but I've been thinking of grabbing it again and looking into how the game is progressing. Keep an eye on this one for sure.

    Arcane Legends https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sts.al&hl=en

    Black Desert Mobile https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pearlabyss.blackdesertm.gl

Looks more like a console-style third-person ARPG than a Diablo-like. Have no experience with this so I'll let others speak to it.

    Dragalia Lost https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nintendo.zaga

Nintendo ARPG described as "social RPG with primarily ARPG style gameplay." Personally this didn't grab me, all the micromanaging/gacha-style turned me off but some people might be into that!

    Pocket Rogues https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.EtherGaming.PocketRogues

A "dynamic old school Action-RPG designed in the Roguelike genre." According to one user-review: "All the features for the pay-version are obtainable through gameplay via Crystals. The grind for Crystals is fair but takes enough time for it to be a long term goal."

    Heart Breaker https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.ash.HeartBreaker&hl=en_US

"A hack and slash RPG in which you will venture into infinite dungeons." This one was recommended in the comments. You must pay US$ 1.99 to open all stages (1 through 6 are free.)

How do they feel? is there any kind of delay?
Is it better than physical "pubg" trigger that block your view?

I'm interested in both Nubia Red Magic 3 and Asus ROG Phone 2.

I'm looking for unofficial released games. Games that (most likely) aren't in the google app store. For example, the unofficial beta of Cuphead from Skailo. using an app to play morrowind and play diablo 2. Nuclear throne had a small not very well known release on android. I'm just looking for more unofficial game releases like those. Emulators aside.
