Lost access to my developer account. Posted: 12 Jun 2022 03:14 AM PDT I recently lost about 1tb of data. Among that data was my 2fa codes for my Google account. Today I got a new phone and while trying to login I found I no longer has access to my Google account. I don't have my old phone anymore and I don't have my old codes. The last codes I have backed up were generated were 2 years ago and I may have generated new ones in between. Anyway I can get it back? Google themselves aren't helpful as usual. [link] [comments] |

how about you slow down a little bit on releasing new android versions! Posted: 11 Jun 2022 08:38 PM PDT since I started developing my app, android has released like 4 new versions, and each time i had to come up with a new workaround or hack to deal with the deprecations and new apis and permissions, and the most rediculous of all, the storage related changes by android. looks like they can't even make up their minds on one new change, they immediately deprecate and introduce another api/feature! just slow down, and give it more time, like 3 years? and instead of android 12,13,14,15... try to fix and add features, make it 13.1, 13,2, 13.3, ... for storage access they should allow the app with READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission to read the file indexes/location/names but when the app wants to actually access the files, either alert the user or prompt the user that this app wants to access this file or all files under this folder. it doesn't even need the app dev to do anything on their side, it's a system job. let the user choose the root folder path for each app, let the default be downloads folder, or whatever. since android 10 they fixed absolutely nothing, even worse they removed READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE in android sdk33. and added 3 irrelevant permissions that are useful only for media player apps. my app needs to read a big data file with any extension I give it, and i have no idea where to ask the user to put it so i can use the data file(the user has to manually download the data file and move it to a readable location for the app, it's not an obb to bundle with the apk in the market). even the android default file explorer can't read/write to Android/obb, android/data, Android/media folders. basically i have no idea if my app will work in android 13 much less the next releases, and these people release a new version once every few months. all I can do is make sure it works fine on android 4.4 all the way to 12. Would it be a good idea for me to join TCS? As an application developer? Posted: 11 Jun 2022 10:45 PM PDT Before we start debating why you want to join TCS, after all there are better companies out there to learn a lot, let me tell you why I am thinking of joining TCS as an app developer OK, so the first thing is that i love making apps that I want to work on, not apps that companies want me to do, so as I see some people say on the Internet that employs in tcs are mostly free because there are not a lot of work pressure, and to be honest, that is exactly what I want, i don't want too much work pressure not because I don't want to get surveyed but because I want to work on my own apps As I am not making much money with my indie apps, I am considering joining TCs so I can get a fixed paycheck every month so I can pay my bills and all other expenses, while focusing on my indie app journey side by side and doing what I love. My main question now is, should I join TCS, since there is a lot of free time and not much work pressure, or should I look for another company where I can get a higher salary as a fresher and still have plenty of free time to work on my apps? When I asked the question, "Why tcs is best for a lazy person," some people said that there is no inhouse app development in tcs, but a close friend who works as the CTO in tcs said yes, there is inhouse app development. Help in Important question for me Posted: 11 Jun 2022 03:45 PM PDT I have an important question for me flutter as in my country they need an experience from 1 to 3 years and as I am junior I have no chance so what is the level of coding should I have to apply for Jobs with needed experiece or to apply directly to a freelancing online {if you can determine the experience needed in coresponding to a specific app that if I develop that will be enough as I try to increase experience by myself at home} 2.(deployment..depdency control..version control..testing unit or integration.) ....is these skills included in my job.....also what level should I have in problem solving ..algo &datastructure.....design pattern & oop ?
