[REQUEST] Game with a lot of upgrading/leveling up that doesn't feel mindless

    Posted: 22 May 2022 06:38 PM PDT

Hi, I'm looking for a game with a heavy emphasis on upgrading that doesn't feel dumb or mindless. I've noticed I really like the rush of dopamine that upgrading/leveling up gives me lol, but I don't want to play a game that makes me feel like I'm losing brain cells. That probably excludes most generic idle games, though I'm definitely not against a unique, good quality idle game. Besides that, I don't really care what genre or price it is, as long as isn't obnoxiously P2W. Thanks!

Edit: I guess I'll should give an example. I like Cookie Run Kingdom since it has a ton of stuff to collect and upgrade. I don't know if that game is seen as mindless, but I don't consider it to be so you can use that as a gauge I suppose.

    Single/Multiplayer: single player

    Genre: any

    Online/Offline: any

    Monetization/Cost: any

    Portrait/Landscape: any

Key Features: has a lot of upgrades or leveling up

[Request] Vertical screen RPG/Auto Battler, high unit customization, units not unique/randomly generated

    Posted: 23 May 2022 12:20 AM PDT

So there's this random auto battler game I played a while back which you'd have creatures, they'd autorun different zones fighting waves of monster which can drop more creature units. Units could be fused into one another to inherit traits. Was incredibly basic art. 8/16/32bit, simple sprites like old final fantasy monster sprites. Simple, fun, enough engagement to play during downtime.

This kind setup is kinda what I'm looking for since I can't find the other.

Vertical screen orientation is a requirement for me.

Really not into the hyper cartoonist/stylize/Waifu collector games.

I'd love the units to be randomized like a tactics game.

Prefer customization as the engagement to auto battle/path/explore/ect.

Love customization that's not just stat changing.

[REQUEST] Searching rpg games with cooperative

    Posted: 22 May 2022 11:40 AM PDT

Hi, sorry if maybe I write something wrong, English is not my first language.

I wanted to play a RPG with some of my friends, like:

-A game that you can progress solo and join with friends ocasionally or a full cooperative game. -Multiple build or classes and support character options. -Dynamic gameplay. -We dont search gatchas or gps games right know (just in case). -We like exploring and skills discovery. -We search something bigger that 16 bits graphics and less than 3d graphics like genshin impact.

Thank you everyone with the help and sorry if maybe it's a hard request.

    Have a nice day!

[Request] auto-battle/async arena like disney heroes battle mode

    Posted: 22 May 2022 04:41 PM PDT

The game I like most on my phone is Disney Heroes Battle Mode, but I still find myself with free time and am looking for similar games. These things are important to me:

    - No hypersexualized graphics. (I play mobile games on the couch with three nosy young children who frequently peak at my screen. I also just don't really see how a game is enhanced by all those enormous bouncing breasts and pin-up poses). I realize this rules out the bulk of similar games, but it is very important, and the reason why my search is difficult.

    - No real-time events, or, if there are, very short. I love Teamfight Tactics but I need something to kill a few minutes here and there multiple times throughout the day--I can't commit to an hour (or even a half).

    - Very little micro and repetitive taps. I want to focus on macro decisions and the meta, it's fine to solve a puzzle here and there, but I don't want to solve 100 puzzles via the same strategy or calculable algorithm. As soon as I start writing AI in my head or start googling farming bots, I want a game that either automates that for me or let's me raid/skip/farm it with one click.

Other than that, I'm willing to give pretty much anything a try.

How to use JoyCons on Android

    Posted: 22 May 2022 02:18 PM PDT

Thanks for kind words and karma yesterday. https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidGaming/comments/uuxeon/just_wanted_to_show_my_new_3d_printed_case_grip/

As most of you know, you can connect joycons via Bluetooth, but when you do, they act as separate controllers.

    • How do you combine joycons into one controller ?

One way is to root your phone, which I don't recommend.. unless you know what you are doing.

What I did was buying a controller adapter from https://mayflash.com/ that can combine joycons into one. It wasn't meant to be used with Android, but since Android is an open system where you can plug in USB, mouse, keyboard... You name it, it works

Downsides * Requires USB adapter or dongle. * The device can be in the way. * Will require the USB port.

Positives * Can be used on more devices like consoles, tablets.. * You can almost use any controller or fightstick. * No lag

If you have a gaming phone with an extra USB c port, it fits very well in the back.

I got my own DYI case because my phone was too big, and the options are very limited. Plus, I like to use what I already have, and it's easier to repair or replace.

I'm considering selling the case because there is a demand for it. You could choose the color and get a special logo on it. What do you think?

[REQUEST] Looking for niche card like strategy games

    Posted: 22 May 2022 01:54 PM PDT

    • Singleplayer game

    • Preferably offline or low data usage

    • Card like element with some roguelite element

    • Would love the strategy element and love to think my steps ahead.

Something like: Slay the Spire or Cultist Simulator maybe with a bit more action.

I have played a few other well known deck builders like Night Of The Full Moon but didn't like it. And Cultist Simulator is a bit too slow paced at times. So I'd love a hybrid between the two. I know this is a lot but if something comes remotely close, please share! Thanks!

A decent gacha RPG (Brave Frontier, FF Brave Exvius - like) without bullshit handholding at the beginning and somewhat difficult

    Posted: 22 May 2022 02:33 PM PDT

Tried a lot of these games, but in every each one of them the newly registered player is instantly bombarded with multiple 5-star units and enormous amount of resources and mechanics, so like the first 5-10 hours of the game is just one-hitting enemies. Of course, I tried ignoring all these bonuses, but I feel like an idiot that doesn't play right.I really don't understand how anyone can get addicted to the game, when there is literally nothing challenging you for a few hours.Ideally, I would want the fighting system to be similar to BF and FF, but post anything you consider interesting

How to make an Android card game

    Posted: 22 May 2022 11:25 AM PDT

I have non-mobile coding background in Python, PHP and SQL.

I would like to create a simple single player card game for Android. What languages, frameworks, engines, ... would be best suited for this?
