Oneplus devices are restricting high refresh rate to pre-approved apps Posted: 05 Apr 2022 05:28 AM PDT After much debugging trying to get videos to play at 120hz on a OnePlus device it seems that they are locking in video playback to 60hz... When a video is below a certain size it will happily play at 120hz: https://i.imgur.com/vB6POcr.jpg However if the video is too large it lock in at 60hz: https://i.imgur.com/ZXojIr4.jpg Oneplus devices will ignore all calls in-app to play using high refresh rates via the API unless you manually change the package name to one on their pre-approved list (e.g. org.mozilla.firefox). So if you're like me wondering why videos are making your device feel sluggish, it seems like it's a deliberate choice from OnePlus. neversettle[link] [comments] | ||
