Google TV suggesting content from services I don't have Posted: 09 Jan 2022 03:51 PM PST Long time Chromecaster, first time with Google TV as of today. So the suggested content is MOSTLY for services I actually use, plus the Tubi/PlutoTV stuff that Google has partnered with. But I keep seeing suggestions for Hulu/Peacock shows periodically, even though I don't have either of those apps on the device, nor any other Google device I am aware of. Both of those apps, along with a handful of others, are listed in the "Apps > Apps from my other devices" section, and I have no idea why and I think that is a clue. I'm trying to clean up this interface without switching to App-Only mode, since I DO want Google to work it's suggestion magic, but only for shit I already pay for. [link] [comments]
What to do with chromecast with GTV? Posted: 10 Jan 2022 03:44 AM PST I've bought a new Sony TV which has google tv built in.. does using the chromecast with gtv have any benefits? Or should I just sell it? I like that the remote was simpler than the Sony tv remote. [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jan 2022 06:14 PM PST So kind of a noob question but how do I get youtube music to run in the background while i have a screensaver running on my Onn 4K UHD box? i know it was possible to do on the Shield. [link] [comments]
What are some of the best budget boxes that support HD/DRM content? Posted: 10 Jan 2022 01:30 AM PST I've seen a lot of people here that Netflix doesn't work properly in mi boxes. I want to okay content from prime video, Netflix and HBO Max in HD. I also like playing emulators occasionally, stuff like PS1, PSP and SNES. Any other feature is not important to me. Even the emulators, if I can get those streaming services working fine. Nvidia shield is out of reach to me. What do you recommend? [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jan 2022 10:23 AM PST Hey Guys, I just bought a brand new Xiaomi Mi Box S to make my very old tv a bit smarter, and to make covid quarantine a bit more enjoyable. But somehow the magic didn't happened, and I would be incredibly grateful for some advice. So my tv is this old boy When I connect the Mi Box to the TV, the TV says 'Video mode not supported'. So basically I cannot do anything with it in my home. (I don't have an other screen to experiment.) What i did so far: After some google search, I tried to change the resolution on the box (I asked my neighbor to test the box with their tv first, connect to my wifi, and change the resolution form 1080p 60 Hz to 480p 60Hz, then they plugged out the box and gave me the device back), but so far it didnt work. I'm a bit clueless right now, beacause the TV worked fine with my buddy's laptop (mine doesn't have an hdmi port) My tv supports the following resolutions: 640 x 480, 60 Hz 800 x 600, 56 Hz 1024 x 768, 60 Hz 640 x 480, 67 Hz 800 x 600, 60 Hz 1024 x 768, 70 Hz 640 x 480, 72 Hz 800 x 600, 72 Hz 1024 x 768, 75 Hz 640 x 480, 75 Hz 800 x 600, 75 Hz 720 x 400, 70 Hz 832 x 624, 75 Hz So that's my story short. Am I even on the right track? Or is this an impossible mission? (I know, I probably should buy a new tv, but this one worked just fine so far) [link] [comments]
Google TV remote input button not working Posted: 09 Jan 2022 02:20 PM PST So I got a Chromecast with Google TV, and set it up on my RCA TV. I managed to setup the power button and the volume buttons just fine, but no luck with the input. I noticed that when its connecting, it tries various different "codes" until you find one that works. I imagine it does that to emulate the control remote that came with the TV. My question is, is there a way for it to try more codes? Because if the problem is that the device just doesn't have the code that my specific TV uses, I don't mind looking for it myself, as long as I can input it in. The control remote my TV came with is kind of shitty, and having a working input button is literally the only thing I would need in order to never use it again. Also, I do have CEC enabled, but I'm trying to get my PC to connect to my PC, and my graphics card doesn't support CEC, which means I can't change it with my PC. [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jan 2022 10:24 AM PST Hello, I was wondering is it possible to connect multiple Bluetooth headphones to the android TV and get audio output in all of them together? [link] [comments]
Philips TV stuck in a boot loop after security update. Posted: 09 Jan 2022 01:23 PM PST Model no is 43PFL5604/F7 A. I updated it recently, wasn't a forced update so I feel stupider for having done it. Can't find any way to reset it online that doesn't involve going through the menus. There's no reset button, I have power, source, and volume up and down on the back. Tried finding firmware to maybe set it back an update or two, nothing online, nothing on the philips website. If anyone has any ideas, or can help at all, I'd be immensely grateful. Not sure if we got a warranty in the first place, but if we did, it still would be too long since the purchase lol. I've tried several different ways of resetting it, holding power and volume down while plugging it in, source and volume down, just the power button, nothing seems to do anything. Kodi on Tcl c728 Built in android tv 11 is it a 1080P or 4k ? Posted: 09 Jan 2022 05:02 PM PST Hey guys On kodi app display resolution sticking on 1920x1080 without any option for 4k, on other forums they say it's only the kodi UI is 1080p but ones you play 4k videos it's kicks into 4k. And others say it's downscale the video to 1080p even if it's HDR I'm confused and want a clear answer, any help ? Any test to do ? [link] [comments]

My xiaomi mi stick is stuck in a bootloop Posted: 09 Jan 2022 01:52 AM PST I've had my xiaomi mi stick for almost a year now and it's the first time I have a problem with it. It's stuck in a bootloop. I know for certain that this is not a power issue nor it is TV's fault. Been testing it on different outlets and TV's just to make sure, nothing helps. The bootloop is not long enough to get into boot settings and reset to factory settings. Any tips or is it dead for good? [link] [comments]
Manually disable 5.1 surround sound Posted: 08 Jan 2022 06:27 PM PST I have a Hisense 60A6G and everything works fine, except the audio specifically for the HBO max app. I have the tv hooked up to a stereo receiver through the optical out port on the tv. For some reason, the HBO max outputs 5.1 surround sound and my audio sounds weird because of it. For reference, Netflix and Amazon prime do not do this. I have checked all the audio settings and nothing seems to help. Is there a way to manually disable all 5.1 audio output from the TV to force the HBO app to output stereo sound? Google TV Live Tab-Customization? Posted: 08 Jan 2022 01:39 PM PST Just got a Sony A80J and have linked Pluto and Sling apps. The Live TV tab shows both apps' channels in the guide. Is there a way to hide channels or further customize the guide? [link] [comments]
