Another reason mobile gaming is dead... This is our Black Friday.

    Posted: 25 Nov 2021 12:31 PM PST

My MiniReview app now has 1k game reviews, so I’m giving away two Android-compatible Bluetooth Controllers (simply share your favorite games in the comments)

    Posted: 25 Nov 2021 05:07 AM PST

As of this week, there are now over 1000 game reviews live on MiniReview, the games discovery platform I've built based on my Friday posts here on the sub. And that means it is time to celebrate! :)

Even with 1000 games reviewed and 2700+ total games in the database, however, I'm still missing a lot of great titles. So this giveaway is meant to give something back to you guys while gathering a long list of the best mobile games so I can add them to the platform.

The prize? Two lucky winners will get a Bluetooth controller like the ipega-PG-9083S (which is built for mobile), or the wireless Xbox controller - your choice.

    HOW DO I WIN?

All you have to do is share your favorite mobile games in a comment below. You can share as many as you'd like in the same comment. Simple as that :)

The event runs until November 30th at 11am GMT+1, and the two winners will be picked at random from the comments in this thread + the one over on r/MiniReview, and then contacted via a Reddit private message.

    AND THEN?

After the event is over, I'll get to work on adding all of these games to MiniReview. It'll be impossible to review all of the games in a short time-frame, but they will all be manually added to the database (including custom screenshots, tags etc. to make them discoverable), and launch alongside the website.

And speaking of which, once the website is out, you can also request a review of any of these games by clicking the "Request a review" button that shows up on the pages of games that don't yet have an editorial review. You can of course also leave user-ratings, as always :)

Once again, thanks for all the amazing support and feedback over the years. New Friday post with recommendations coming tomorrow, of course - as always <3

So it's the mission on the Resistance Base where you have to "prepare the Millenium Falcon" and will be playing as Finn, Leia, C-3PO and BB-8. The mission here requires you to get the door guy (i forgot his name) an ice cream. I've been searching and trying for hours and i couldn't solve this... Anybody mind to help? Thank you very much for the time you spare to help me, have a nice day y'all :)

[DEV] Grim Quest: Origins - prequel to a classic RPG / Dungeon Crawler

[DEV] Grim Quest: Origins - prequel to a classic RPG / Dungeon Crawler

Hi, I'd like to present Grim Quest: Origins, the newly released prequel to Grim Quest - Old School RPG.

Because of its focus on storytelling and worldbuilding, Grim Quest is often compared to a single player DnD campaign

Grim Quest: Origins is a text RPG / dungeon crawler set in a high fantasy setting, with elements of swashbuckling adventure thrown in for good measure. It utilizes minimalist and retro aestethics, vibrant musical score, and LOTS of written text to immerse you in its weird and lore-rich world.

Those already familiar with Grim Quest know that it takes the old-school approach, in a way that it doesn't hold your hand much, and expects you to put some thought and effort into it, instead of showering you with easy success and cheap dopamine boosts. That being said, the game's difficulty is fully customizable, if you find the default settings too harsh.

Grim Quest: Origins won't spam you with popup ads (unless you want them), and only utilizes a small banner ad at the bottom of the screen. Ads can be removed altogether with a fairly priced in-app purchase. Other in-app purchases, while present, won't get in your face, and are mostly of the voluntary nature. You can support the game by purchasing them, but you won't miss out on any content if you decide against it.

The game is available for FREE at the Play Store:

Suggestions for games like Pascal's Wager but completely offline?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2021 10:11 PM PST

I just found out that you need internet connection fairly often on Pascal's Wager even though it is a premium game so I'm wondering if there are other souls-like premium games that are totally offline, preferably with controller support. I'm also fine with emulating games if there's no other game on the Playstore like it, so feel free to suggest retro games.

Please suggest a game that is/has:

    Controller support

    Souls-like

    Paid

    Singleplayer

    COMPLETELY Offline

    Thanks for any suggestions!

Controllers for tablets. Ipega PG-9023 vs PG-9083s or PG-9167?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2021 12:00 PM PST

Hi. I'm looking for a new controller for my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7. I have an Ipega PG-9023 controller and am wondering whether the PG-9083s or PG-9167 controllers are actually an upgrade?

I'm really curious if the bumpers are any better. I hate them on PG-9023. They feel absolutely atrocious compared to the ones on the XBOX controller.

    Thank you for your help!

Is there any way to edit the preferences file of GRID Autosport to make the game look close to or better than switch?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2021 08:33 PM PST

Ever since I got a decently powerful phone (poco x3 pro) and ever since I have been playing GRID Autosport, I have wondered that considering that the switch version is the same game, and I have been editing the preferences file for a while now to make the game look as good as possible without lag, I just want to know if I could make the game look at least close to the switch version. Mainly my biggest issue is the shadows. It always seems like the switch version has sharper shadows at a distance. And maybe also the lighting. I'm wondering if I can change some settings like global illumination and stuff. Maybe there are some things I haven't changed...
