How do I look for and filter out games that are time or energy gated?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2021 08:45 AM PDT

I'm looking for games to play, but time and energy games are extremely off putting for me. I want games that I can play a little bit of whenever I have the time. I don't want to log in everyday for dailies and be limited as to how much I can play at a time.

What games have a great UI/UX?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2021 10:23 AM PDT

I've been playing some random idle games here and there and I am finding that my enjoyment is obviously affected by the UI.

Recently played Dear My Cat and while not the most engaging idle game, I was blown away by the aesthetic and UI. Every menu interaction is well designed and developed and I found myself just flipping through the menus.

It made me interested in researching other examples of good UI since the majority of the market is just notification/button spam to maximize the amount of on screen IAPs. Any games (any genre) that stand out to you like this?

Looking for Diablo-style gameplay with Archero-style controls

    Posted: 20 Oct 2021 09:30 AM PDT

Does something like this exist? Basically, combine the loot, classes, dungeon crawling, progression etc. of Diablo with the vertical orientation and single touch control of Archero.

If nothing exists like it, someone should build it!

    Priority Mode?

    Posted: 19 Oct 2021 08:04 PM PDT

I accidentally turned on priority mode in game launcher which automatically puts my phone in do not disturb when I have a game running. How do I turn this setting off? It's driving me crazy! I have the Note 10+ if that matters.

    Air Patriots

    Posted: 19 Oct 2021 06:13 PM PDT

Hello! I found a really old journal entry of mine from 2016 that mentioned playing Air Patriots. When I tried to follow links to the game's Google Play page, they didn't work. Does anyone know why the game was removed from Google Play? Are any ways to get it without using a suspicious website?

Thoughts on Indies' Lies? (Another card roguelite)

    Posted: 19 Oct 2021 09:38 PM PDT

Saw this a few days ago, only booted it up just now.

First stage 1 impression is that, graphics are nice, mechanics seem decent (Similar to StS with minor differences like being able to replace cards at 0 cost, talent board instead of relics, etv).

Monetization seems fine: 2 items that unlock extra characters/story/cards. From what I gathered the f2p option has 3 characters (2 locked) while the 2 IAPs adds another 6. Buying the IAP seems to remove all ads (I haven't tried it) and the ads I got was from taking the free items in the merchant shop and at the end of the boss stage iirc.

I think it has an account system for purchase check but doesn't have cloud save from what I can tell (played 1 fight on tablet, moved to phone, game knows I have an account but doesnt have my tablet playthru, not sure about unlocks). There are a little bit of resolution clipping issues but I read on one of the review replies that the devs are working on it.

    Curious about other people's thoughts.

A game like Illusion connect that has fair pvp?

    Posted: 19 Oct 2021 10:57 PM PDT

The game is really cool, one of the best tactical rpgs I've ever played even on console, in pve strategy actually matters, the huge problem is pvp. On asynchronous arena the game cheats, it gives the opponent character infinite lives PLUS a timer, so it's not about being better, it's about doubling the power of the other guy AKA paying or grinding a week. The synchronous pvp is even worse, it has a ranked system where you loose points and they put you with people double and even triple your level, plus the leveling system is made to make anyone 10 lvs above you unbeatable, so imagine having 40k hit points and facing someone who has (literally, not an hyperbole) 3 million hit points, and you only deal 10 damage because the game thinks he needs to reduce your damage on top of pairing you with someone who has 3 million hit points, oc characters work the same way.

I guess this was kind of a rant, but it also serves the purpose of saying what makes the game unfair in my perspective, I've played games like Nier but they are all the same, there is no strategy, only the illusion of it, abilities have a cooldown and there is no reason to not use them the moment they can be used, this is what I definitely don't want, an auto battler, the same goes for fire emblem, there is an illusion of strategy in movement, but the terrain is a blank slate unlike in the console version, so any thinking is useless really, you just rush the opponent, as simp,e as illusion connect might seem, you put the pieces one by one alway trying to counter you opponents last move and trying to make your next unpredictable.

Hope this wall of text served to explain myself and not just to make people not want to read my post, if you read it through the end thanks for your time.

[Request] looking for a old game with a skull

    Posted: 19 Oct 2021 02:16 PM PDT

Looking for a game i used to play, i starter to Play BAIKOH, The logo/skull reminded me of a game i used to play while commuting to work 5+ years ago. I think it was inspired by the puzzle and dragons gamestyle. Or maybe match 3. It was simple a designed game. With squares.
