| How to determine if a file is supposed to be on phone.....need help Posted: 10 Aug 2021 06:47 AM PDT For some time now my husband has believed that someone other then me puts unwanted files on my phone….files he believes are used to manipulate the basic functions of my phone as well as monitor the activity on my phone. He regularly looks at the files on my phone (both system files and files saved by me) and states that this file or that file should not be on my phone if the phone were on it's normal working state. I honestly know very little about the system files on my phone. I know the files I have saved on my phone (photos, pdf, etc) and since I don't keep any secrets from him then I do not mind at all that he looks at these files. I just don't know how to prove to him that a specific file is supposed to be there because of an app or something like that. Is there anyone who knows about this type of thing that can offer some assistance? I know there are people out there that understand this type of stuff. | Vo-Wifi stopped working on OnePlus 7 after Oxygen OS 11 update Posted: 10 Aug 2021 03:36 AM PDT After the Oxygen update I am not able to receive or make any calls when I am connected to the Wi-fi. However when I am using my data the VoLte is working. Whenever I restart my phone the VoWifi feature seems to he working for quite a few minutes but after that there is icon in the notification bar and neither can I make any calls I tried resetting the network settings and also did a Factory reset on my phone yet the problem still persist. If I use data from any other phone using their hotspot the feature seems to be working completely fine. But the problem isn't with my other Androids as they seem to have completely fine Vo-Wifi on the same Wi-fi. The problem started after I updated it to Oxygen OS 11. It's not consistent, and I can't predict which numbers will ring, but it is never someone from my contacts list when I call and is usually a random number or spam call. This is something new that started happening a few days ago. I did not make any settings changes that could have affected this. Is there a way to return my phone to normal functionality? | Hard/Factory Reset not working - help Posted: 10 Aug 2021 04:44 AM PDT I have an alldocube android tablet that simply won't reset. I've tried software reset, hard reset, I've flashed the ROM, but when the tablet boots, it's still with the same settings and accounts on it. Even if I uninstall or remove users, after restart everything is exactly the same. This tablet is now forever in this state, every app I install just disappears after reboot, every wifi network is forgotten, I really don't know what to do.. It gives the message that the wipe was successful but nothing changes. Can someone point me to a possible workaround for this? Thanks. [link] [comments] |

I know it was possible to do before using the SIM manager app but I can't even access that app anymore even though Play store says it's installed. And can't find anything in settings for esim profiles. It shows theres an eID number for sim slot 2, which would be for the eSIM profile from the carrier, but can't see any way to delete it. My phone cam with a preinstalled eSIM profile (not an eSIM card) for a carrier in a different country. Can't add an eSIM from my own country cause of it as it only allows the specific eSIM card associated to that profile and carrier. I bought the phone from an online reseller in my country. They don't officially sell Pixels here. They must have fucked up the cleaning of the phone. They're of course telling me to contact the carrier (Telekom Germany), while Telekom doesn't understand what an eSIM profile is. [link] [comments] |

| High sensitivity when marking text Posted: 10 Aug 2021 03:34 AM PDT Usually when i move one of the blue pins at the end of the marked text to the top or bottom of the screen even slightly it adds a few paragraphs to the marked text instead of just the line above or below it. It's been getting slower since it stopped receiving patches over a year ago. So far, I've done the following:

| White Screen- Samsung Galaxy A20 Posted: 10 Aug 2021 06:32 AM PDT TL;DR at the bottom. My phone is stuck on white and green screen with four thin black lines. i don't know how this happened. All i know is that i went to sleep last night, in which i'm positive my phone died because it was on 15%. i woke up this morning to it supposedly dead since it was on a black screen and wouldn't come on. dead or alive, in order for my phone to charge, i have to do a quick restart by holding power and volume down. the weird thing is that my phone said 34% which was weird because i had just started charging it. anyway after starting it and trying to install something, it automatically just restarts. no black screen or anything. it went straight to the Samsung screen then the home screen, telling me once again to unlock the device to start it. from there, like 3 or 4 large black bars appeared, with slivers of the real screen shown in between. then it started to glow bright. like hurt your eyes bright. it kept going until it stayed there. i tried shutting it off and give it some time but that made it worse. before i could even get to the samsung screen, it got bright again with the four black lines i mentioned before. now i can't even turn it off. its just stuck there. what do i do? can i just take it to a repair shop? also please don't tell me i'd have to factory reset it. i have things on there that will be VERY hard to even start getting back. also sorry for sucha long post. TL;DR- my phone grew bright like it was gonna explode and now it's stuck on a mainly white and green screen with thin black lines. please help. [link] [comments] |
| Adoptable storage on Galaxy S7 with Android 8.0.0? Posted: 10 Aug 2021 02:45 AM PDT Originally, it was possible to enable adoptable storage on the Galaxy S7 through ADB, but Samsung has patched that out; Now the command succeeds but doesn't actually do anything. Meanwhile I am struggling. AppMgr Pro III doesn't help, because most large apps do not allow "move to SD" and some are supposed to lose features even if moving is possible. A developer setting to force moving apps to SD is mentioned in some sources but not present on the S7. Is there any option left to enable the feature? At this point constantly having less than 3GB left, while my SD card sits at least than 16 of 128 GB is annoying. I am thinking of buying a new phone just to have the 128 GB internal storage, but I'd rather first try salvaging the S7. At this point rooting (requires resetting the device) and custom ROMs (same) are all acceptable. [link] [comments] |

However, is there phones that could run pure AOSP? If so, wouldn't I be able to have updates for years? It freaked me the hell out. I have no idea where it came from. Then I said some stuff and it said something along the lines of "I didnt catch that". So I ran AVG AntiVirus 3 times (everything was fine), and I disabled mic for google assistant (since I dont use it anyway) but It happened again. Can someone help me?? | Posted: 09 Aug 2021 10:35 PM PDT Hi all. I finally committed to an 8T last week after much deliberation and was initially satisfied. I purchased a brand new, unlocked model and transferred my number in store at my local T-Mobile where I also received very professional help porting my data and getting the initial setup taken care of. However, within a couple days I noticed I couldn't take or send photos on Instagram due to some kind of bug or conflict with the software. I can swipe to the camera function but as soon as I click to capture a shot the camera freezes the image but gives no option to send or edit. If I clear the image to try again the camera goes completely dark, still showing the Instagram options, but with a blank image as if I were covering the lens. For some reason, the same problem does not occur when using the front facing camera or when holding down the capture button to take a video. I've tried all the troubleshooting I can find including reinstalling the app, restarting the phone, checking for updates constantly, wiping and then reinstating the permissions, clearing the cache, etc etc. I've spoken with OnePlus support and worked through each of their suggestions with the exception of a factory reset. One suggestion in a google search suggested the bug might be within the time zone settings, which I have also tried to no avail. OP customer support who encouraged me to open a report in the community forum, and filed a bug report with Instagram as well. No responses so far. The bug is specifically affecting Instagram as all the camera functions in Snapchat and Whatsapp have worked perfectly fine for me. I purchased this phone specifically for some of it's features like dual sim and storage capacity because I'm leaving next week to go abroad for 3 months. I'm going on tour with my band and I will absolutely need to use these Instagram functions for promotional posts as well as expected social media usage. Has anyone had a similar issue or have any suggestions for what I can try? I researched OP phones extensively prior to purchasing but I have absolutely no idea what I would get to replace this phone that would have similar features for under $700.
