Posted: 20 Aug 2021 06:32 PM PDT It's all fun and games until Naomi Wu shows up at your office to get GPLv2 compliance😎 Basically a user on Twitter (Patrycja) tried to request the kernel sources for the UMIDIGI F2 from UMIDIGI. Someone from UMIDIGI replied with this:
Another user on Twitter (Mika Feiler) tagged Naomi Wu who took the initiative to visit the UMIDIGI office in Shenzhen to request the kernel sources. For the unaware, all Android OEMs are obligated by the General Public License (GPLv2) to provide any modifications to the Linux kernel. This is necessary for community development (custom recoveries, kernels, ROMs, etc.) This XDA article (Archived link courtesy of /u/ladfrombrad) explains it better than I ever could [link] [comments]

PSA: Screenshot in Samsung Web saves the URL of the page Posted: 20 Aug 2021 12:31 PM PDT So, I just made a screenshot of a web page and went to send it to a friend and I got a prompt to choose whether to share as a link or an image. Also in gallery you have a button to take you to the website you took the screenshot from. Nice! How long do you think it will take to get this to vanilla Android? 😁 [link] [comments]
