| A way to backup everything, including Steam Guard, Authenticators and etc.? Posted: 07 Jul 2021 10:05 AM PDT Hi, so I'm looking into tidying my phone a bit and I need a way to backup everything. One of the main reasons is my bank app. I don't have a backup phone and if I delete the bank app, I would have to go to the bank to restore it, but it's in another city. I heard that Titanium Backup does something like this, but it requires root. On my old LG G6, I had root and I couldn't make my bank app work with it, so I unrooted it. Read that Helium is kinda similar, but it's not as good and might not backup everything and say nothing about it? Are there any other options today? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 07 Jul 2021 08:37 AM PDT I have a OnePlus 7 Pro (not rooted) and like many others was tired of the broken Android 11 release, so I decided yesterday to revert to Android 10 (official release from OP). I made sure that "Backup to Google Drive" was enabled under Settings > Google > Backup. This said it covers App data, messages, call history, etc. I performed the downgrade and reset, relinking my google accounts, and it imported my contacts and redownloaded my apps. What i'm missing is all my call/text history, app data (literally years worth in some fitness apps), and system settings/preferences/homescreen layout. In that Settings > Google > Backup menu there isnt any restore option. I can see the backup in my google drive that says it saved all these things, but navigating to it on the drive app also doesn't prompt to initiate a restore. How do i do this? Thanks for reading. EDIT: It looks like according to this google page you can't restore to an older version of android. If I upgraded to Android 11 again is there another method besides google drive backups that will let me restore to a previous version? [link] [comments] |

Right now application is working fine and whole team is using different modules for different purposes. Now we have some new requirements for the application that will require building more modules. We are using different modules because modular programming is a good practice and its better to manage and reuse the code(typical). But I wanna know what is the impact of using multiple modules on app performance. Does using too many modules will slow the app performance? e.g. App uses networking modules to for networking and this module is initialised at the app startup. How does this impact the app launch time if we have multiple modules? Is there any limit for using different modules? I hope I cleared my point. | Cannot access a new Pixel 5 device Posted: 07 Jul 2021 01:26 AM PDT I have received a Pixel 5 device from my company for testing purposes. But I cannot access it, on startup, it says "Your phone was reset to factory settings. To use this phone, enter your previous pattern". I have not set any pattern and according to the IT team, they have also not set any pattern or logged into the device with any account. Is there any way to bypass this or should send the device back? These are steps that came up: Set up Sim(Skipped) -> Getting your phone ready(Cannot skip) -> Copy apps and data(Skipped) -> Verify Pattern with Use my google account instead(Cannot skip). | Android 11 VIP help (Xcover Pro) Posted: 07 Jul 2021 11:48 AM PDT Hello, I am having issues getting my ph to trigger the custom VIP contact notification sound. I have already made the contact a starred VIP, i set a sound, i just need to add the contact to the priority sender list. On my old phone i would open an email from the contact, press the from/email address and a drop down would appear to 'ADD TO VIP". On my new XCover Pro this option is not here. | Make calls from computer to phone bluetooth Posted: 07 Jul 2021 06:47 AM PDT Using my laptop Windows PC, is it possible to connect to my phone via BlueTooth and make calls and using my laptop's audio and built in microphone, without using the built in feature in Windows 10, and instead use free and open source alternative? If my car radio is able to do it without downloading extra apps for my phone, isn't it possible to download some software for my laptop and get my phone to connect to my laptop without addtional apps for my phone and allow them to connect with each other? I created a second profile in the multiple users section and have set this up with all my work stuff. The only thing I cannot do is assign my work SIM as a default on my work profile, it doesn't even let me into the settings I guess because the profile is not marked as an Admin and I don't see any obvious way to make the second profile an admin. Is there any way I can set my SIM's accordingly to the profile I am logged in with or is this not possible? [link] [comments] |

I still receive text messages immediately. I can make outgoing phone calls and receive calls. But when I attempt to send a text message, I get the "sending..." message until it gives up a half hour later or so. Tried restarting the phone and clearing the app's cache, but no luck. Any ideas? | Google play services keeps stopping Posted: 06 Jul 2021 09:37 PM PDT So I've been dealing with "Google Play services keeps stopping" for about a week now. I've looked online for a couple answers and some of them say to clear the data of it. I was wondering if clearing the data would delete any of the app data or if anything bad would happen if I were to clear it? I'm not sure if it means anything, but the device this happened to is a Galaxy Tab E. I have already updated the tablet itself and it's my files so I'm pretty sure everything is up to date, though, I don't know if I need to update anything else. I also tried clearing the cache of all the Google apps (Well, ones that specifically have Google's name in it since I don't know the names of the apps). Edit: I just searched more and would uninstalling updates get rid of any data? Edit 2: I just looked in device management and it says that google play games crashed a total of 7 times though nothing else apart from accuweather crashed and accuweather only crashed 3 times. The last google play games app crash documented is from 2021-06-30. I'm not sure if that's important. Edit 3: Also, the day it happened I had restarted my tablet due to an app not working properly (Ibis Paint X - it was loading too slow so I decided to restart my tablet), before I restarted the tablet it was somewhere near the 20s in battery and when I restarted it it was somewhere near 6 in battery, idk if thats important. Though, it didn't happen immediately after that, I had to fix my Ibis Paint drawing and let it redraw do to it crashing during saving (which is why I restarted the tablet). After that I turned off my tablet and let it charge then a couple hours later I turned it on and found out google play services keeps stopping. [link] [comments] |

| Network fully dead after MMS update for Samsung Galaxy S20 (Tesco Mobile, UK) Posted: 07 Jul 2021 05:14 AM PDT After the update that integrated the Rich Communications between other android users for the samsung s20 I haven't been able to connect to my network provider at all. Every time I try to call someone I get the instant "This number is not recognised" and none of my texts go through. Under "SIM Card Status" Mobile network state says Disconnected but I don't really understand why, things I have tried to do to fix the problem - Reset my APN - Manually setup APN - Made sure the Network Operator was correct - Full Reset my Phone - Contacted Tesco (Network is fine, bills are fully paid) - Disabled MMS/Enabled MMS - Verified my IMEI was fine - Made sure the Message Centre number was correct - Disabled WIFI - Disabled/Re-enabled Rich Communications - Aeroplane mode isn't on - Took out my SIM and made sure it was clean/in properly. - Switched Network Mode from 5G/LTE/3G/2G to literally all other options. (None worked) When I disable my Wi-Fi it changes to "Connected" under Mobile Network State but then I get a notification telling me to "Sign in to network / O2 - UK" which when I click does nothing. I'd also like to mention I can still receive calls/receive texts absolutely fine which is why I'm completely baffled. I have absolutely no clue where to go from here I have exhausted quite literally every single thing possible as far as Googling goes. [link] [comments] |
