Posted: 06 Jul 2021 07:21 AM PDT My parents have been having recurring issues with their phones (Nokia 6.2 and Samsung S10e), and I've been able to repeat the problem on my own and my wife's phones (Samsung Note 20 Ultra and Samsung Note 9) so I'm thinking the problem is more Android specific than device, hence posting here. The family farm is in a signal poor area with quite a bit of tree cover and undulating land between it and the nearest phone tower. At the house they have an antenna and a Telstra supplied booster (Cel-fi Go), although the issue existed before getting the booster so it's unrelated. What happens is that after spending some time at the farm (from as little as a few hours to days at a time) the phones do not pick up service automatically when returning to town (or in any of the areas with signal) and need to be restarted before they are able to be used again. Sometimes we've gone for hours or longer not noticing that our phones are down when getting back in service, resulting in problems when waiting for important calls or messages. So when moving around the farm the phones are quite often useless despite having strong signal on any of the many hills. We actually have to stop and restart the phone in an area with signal if we are waiting for a message. Network selection is set to automatic, but I have tried manual. I'm assuming it is some kind of battery saver, because a few years ago it didn't happen but we'd end up with a flat phone quite quickly in standby. So we installed chargers and grips on all the vehicles so the phones wouldn't be flat. Now we have much lower drain, but the phone doesn't work. Is there a hidden setting to disable this behaviour? I'm open to rooting the Nokia 6.2 since dad is the one who seems to have the most difficulty and winge the most. The rest of us just hit restart when we get to town. It seems to be the end of his world when technology won't do exactly what he expects. The phones usually 'see' the signal and network when returning, but aren't connected and most often display 'Emergency calls only' until they are restarted. Reconnecting manually from the network selection doesn't appear to work (reliably) despite it correctly listing the available networks. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Jul 2021 09:56 AM PDT My mom switched us to TMobile because she was going to be getting a better deal through them, and she got me a OnePlus Nord N200. The phone's been great, but I have noticed the phone charges a good bit slower than my Moto G7 Power even though they're both 5000mAh. AccuBattery shows my G7 charging at almost 500mAh faster than the Nord. I like using an old Samsung 1A charger because I don't like heating up the batteries too much. [link] [comments] |

Every time i try to log in, it says "we're not ready for you yet,we're working on improving your app experience" Its been useless for almost a month, how do i get it working??? | How to increase system partition? Posted: 06 Jul 2021 09:43 AM PDT I've been (stupidly) messing about with installing ROMs. I run into an issue with some Roms just not installing and errors. One common problem is I was unable to install/update anything. So I tried to go back to stock and now I managed to install one app before the entire system complained it was out of space. Settings show me having over 22GB free yet it cries. I've clearly messed with a partition somewhere. How can I get the correct partition to the correct size so I can actually use this device? As soon as I attend the call and place the mobile over my ear the call disconnects. I thought maybe it was a proximity sensor problem but I checked it and no luck. Posted: 06 Jul 2021 07:28 AM PDT Not sure if this is the right subreddit to ask, but i have an LG G7 thinq and just tried to move a bunch of apps to my SD card to free up some space. I no longer see any of those apps in the app drawer and widgets/shortcuts I had on my home screen are gone. I thought maybe it might be an issue with Nova Launcher displaying them, so I tried to redownload the missing apps from the play store and it was like a new install but my accounts are still logged in after redownloading them. | My head hurts looking at a pixelated version of the album art on my lockscreen Posted: 06 Jul 2021 03:21 AM PDT I have a OnePlus 9, and I've encountered this really annoying issue where if I play songs or listen to podcasts on say Spotify or Google podcasts, I get this ugly pixelated lock screen wallpaper of the album art which is being played. I've looked for solutions but all of it involves denying notification access to the apps so I'm not being able to control the apps from the lockscreen. I previously had a Samsung Galaxy S9+ and It never had the album art feature. Is there anyway to turn off the full screen album art feature without having to disable notification permissions? | Posted: 06 Jul 2021 08:09 AM PDT I've been having a weird headphones issue since the last few days on my phone (Nubia Redmagic 3 on android 9). When I plug in the jack, the phone gets into headphones mode for a few seconds and then back to normal mode. As soon as I unplug it, it gets back into headphones mode and never gets out of it... of course if I plug it in again the headphones mode disappears after a few seconds, rinse and repeat. It's super annoying because 1/ I can't use headphones anymore and 2/ if I plug in then unplug headphones then I have to reboot my phone for it to leave headphones mode. I already tried cleaning my jack socket, did nothing. The issue definitely comes from the phone since it's the same no matter what headphones I plug. I've had this phone for more than 2 years without any problem. Do you have any idea how to solve this issue ? [link] [comments] |
| Google Authenticator and Cracked Screen Posted: 06 Jul 2021 05:39 AM PDT Hi all, I dropped my S10+ this weekend and it impacted the screen approx. 3/4 of the way up, putting a pretty nasty crack throughout the screen. I grabbed a new phone (S21 Ultra) and am wondering if its possible to transfer my google auth to it? My S10+ is still useable, but only the top quarter of the screen is functional. I can screen mirror the phone to my laptop, TV, etc. and navigate all the apps, but when I try to export authenticators, the security protocol won't let the Google Auth app mirror on any other screen so I'm unable to scan the QR code it generates to transfer. Is there any app/method to get around this or am I stuck removing all my authenticators and re-initializing them one by one? Apps/Methods I've tried so far are Samsung Dex, AirDroid, and Google Home - all with the same issue of not showing only the screen I need. Hope this made sense, and I appreciate any/all help/adivce! I don't know any Francescas and only know one girl from Italy whose name is definitely not Francesca. | Galaxy S6 multi-touch limits to 2 sometimes Posted: 06 Jul 2021 12:50 AM PDT so i don't know why but sometimes when i'm using my Galaxy S6 to play games using 4 fingers, it will stop registering more than 2 fingers. this applies to everything, not just games. restarting the phone sometimes fixes this but i'm honestly not sure whats causing it so i thought id ask here. anyone know why this happens and if i can stop it from happening? any help would be much appreciated. When I boot up the phone normally it starts turning on TWRP and the logo freezes. I can't do anything then.
