| How can I hide the VPN icon on android 11 without rooting? Posted: 19 Jul 2021 09:58 AM PDT When you turn on VPN, there is a key icon at the top. My phone is Samsung A70 with android 11. I used to use ADB command and overscan, but since android 10 it's no longer an option! Is there any other way? [link] [comments] |
| How do I recover data from a drowned phone that can't even turn on? Posted: 19 Jul 2021 03:45 AM PDT First of all, I'm sorry if this question has been answered already, or if this is not the appropiate subreddit. Some days ago both my phones (Xiaomi 6A and Xiaomi 9T) fell into a river (long story i guess), and after 48h on rice there aren't any signs that they are waking up again. I need to recover some pictures, videos, and also some notes of the notes app, that I use for work. They are dead, so my pc doesn't recognice any of them. Is there any way that I can recover anything from them, or am I f'ed? Sorry for the broken english, and thanks for any help provided. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 19 Jul 2021 10:20 AM PDT I ran across something recently about ClearOS Mobile. It seems this is a customized filtered Android ROM, but I couldn't find much more on it. I think it may be forked from LineageOS. Does anybody have any more details on it? It sounds interesting. [link] [comments] |
| Resolving a failed rooting of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 and (possibly) revert it back to normal Posted: 19 Jul 2021 09:47 AM PDT I was trying to root my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 gt-p5200 but the root script which I've used was not good enough for the tablet to handle. After a successful flashing of the root file through the already included ODIN software, I was disappointed to find out that my Tablet was having trouble to load the root script and so it got stuck in an infinite loop without ending. However, the buttons combination used to access the downloading section still worked fine, but I wasn't able to access the recovery screen. What sort of solution do I need in order to make this old Tablet device came back to normal? Do you have any answer? Write it down below this comment section please. You can also suggest an alternative rooting method or script which doesn't consume that many resources for an old Tablet like this. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 19 Jul 2021 03:27 AM PDT Before my phone just had the normal "open with" tab, now it always shows this even though I've deleted my work profile. Can this be set to default? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 19 Jul 2021 12:02 PM PDT I've recently moved from apple to android picking up the s21 ultra and am loving the phone except for one major flaw. I have yet to find a way to cast web browser videos to my TV without having to mirror the screen. I have smart tvs and an apple tv at home and on the iPhone it was as simple as play video and click the option to send it to apple tv. Is there a way to do this on android through the Web browser? I watch a lot of content online and without having to buy a chrome cast or something similar have yet to find a way to do it. Any help would be appreciated! [link] [comments] |
| Twrp isn't available for my device, what should I do Posted: 19 Jul 2021 12:01 PM PDT I have an itel vision 1 Pro, I know, pretty obscure. I want to change the current Android 9 with the most stock Android 9 possible, also add some other things here and there. I tried using magisk as that seems to be the preferred method of most of the people here but as the title says, they don't have the twrp for my phone. What should I do? Any video on this would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 19 Jul 2021 11:59 AM PDT My old android phone was stolen. Was stupid and had the passcode turned off on it. When I realized what had happened I went into google and signed out of device. If gmail app was still on there and device signed out, are the emails stored locally on device and available to view even after signed out?? Or if the thief opens gmail will it now prompt for login before showing any emails? Unsure of how that works… If thief had put device in airplane mode and it never got "signed out", could they theoretically still open gmail and have access to all emails? Tested on my current phone, switched airplane mode on, opened gmail app and all old emails were there… [link] [comments] |

| How do i Resolve this music stuttering issue. Posted: 19 Jul 2021 11:11 AM PDT This is a problem I've been with for a few months now. I buy most of my music from iTunes and inevitably when I do, some of the songs stutter while they play. In the past, because it was only certain files, I would run them through audio editing software and this fixed the issue but today I found out this is a Bluetooth issue. Every time I buy music now, I listen to a few seconds of it to make sure it doesn't skip. None of my new songs did when I checked them this past Saturday. This morning, I played one of the new songs with my phone (Samsung Galaxy s10e) paired to a Bluetooth speaker (Google Nest Mini) and there was stuttering. I narrowed this down to the phone's Bluetooth by:
The first three tests were all fine but the last two gave me the same issue. I already knew from past experience that only songs from iTunes are affected. Here are my troubleshooting measures:
None of the above have worked. I bought a lot of music so I have no idea how many songs have this skipping issue. I'd much rather fix the Bluetooth issue than mess with the song files. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 19 Jul 2021 09:17 AM PDT I really enjoy the 4a's AMOLED screen and would love to use the entire screen for certain apps and games. I noticed YouTube does the Fit To Screen automatically, but some apps like Pokemon GO or Discord have a black notch at the top. Is there a way to enable an "immersive mode" where all of my apps cover the whole screen? [link] [comments] |
| (Samsung A40) can I use the USB C to HDMI adapter to connect in a monitor? Posted: 19 Jul 2021 08:43 AM PDT Long story short, I have a USB C to HDMI adapter. On my note 10, I am able to connect to any screen/TV/projector using through HDMI. But on the A40, it just doesn't do anything. Many websites sell USB C to HDMI cables to connect to monitors, so I'm thinking there must be a way to do this? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 19 Jul 2021 07:29 AM PDT Mi Mix 3 for £100 I've been offered a secondhand phone, is this worth it, how good is the phone. | Music playback: Android not recognising AlbumArtist properly Posted: 19 Jul 2021 06:51 AM PDT I've become aware over the last few months that Android / Google doesn't always read and display the "AlbumArtist" of music tracks (FLAC) properly. I use Hi-Fi Cast which plays music from my Synology NAS (running Asset UPNP) and from my Galaxy phone (tried S10+ and S21 Ultra). Taking the "Back to the Future" MCA soundtrack as an example. The album artist is "Various Artists" and then each track is coded with the relevant track artist. When browsing the track list from my NAS everything is listed perfectly. But when browsing the same album on my phone Android will seemingly ignore the AlbumArtist and will pick one of the TrackArtists at random to reflect the whole album. Details are correct when tracks are played but whole album views are thrown off. When I discussed with the Hi-Fi Cast developers they put the blame firmly with Android/Google. The YouTube media player does the same thing. Yet Samsung's own player and VLC are fine. The media server is outputting it correctly. The player is apparently reading what is sees. But something at the phone end is messing things up. Does anybody know what's causing this? [link] [comments] |
| How do I delete this file and any residual data? Posted: 18 Jul 2021 08:59 PM PDT Just installed NewPipe and downloaded over 300 megs on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVT2t34IMxU When I get to my file manager, it refuses to play. I check it, and there's 0 bytes. But I watched NewPipe download the entire thing. So I tried redownloading, and removing the emoji from the name. It worked afterwards. I'm left with the old file on my system, containing an Asian character in the name where the emoji was. Can't delete it. Wondering where that 300 megs went. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 19 Jul 2021 05:37 AM PDT Hello. My phone has been locked down, and will not let me charge it because it ensures me that Moisture has been detected in my phone's charging port or the phone's charging cord. I can assure you that my phone has not gotten wet, because I have not even done anything with water around my phone in ages. It has simply been in my pocket while I was out doing my daily tasks. How do I bypass this error, when my phone is at 0% and will not charge because of it? Rice did not work, I left it in there for 24 hours. [link] [comments] |
| How to keep old versions of apps and avoid updates from appearing in PlayStore Posted: 19 Jul 2021 05:27 AM PDT Long story short the software on my phone is broken if I update apps and I need to keep old versions to make it work right. I tried following some guide to "sign" an update but it did not work.... At this point I am running out of options. It's either trow away a perfectly good working phone (hardware wise) or just get a new one [link] [comments] |
| Is it possible to turn off haptic feedback on websites while keeping vibration on? Posted: 19 Jul 2021 05:22 AM PDT This is a Pixel 4g running Android 11. Apparently I can either have "Vibration & Haptic" on or off. If I turn it on, even if "Touch Feedback" and "Notification Feedback" are unchecked and only "Ring Vibration" is selected, then websites with haptic responses will be enabled. I hate haptic feedback and I hate that websites can now make my phone respond with haptic feedback and want to shut it off. [link] [comments] |

| Galaxy A50 display doesn't work when booted in to android Posted: 19 Jul 2021 04:46 AM PDT Hello, I got a Samsung Galaxy A50. I thought the display was damaged and it needs replacement. But when connecting a charging cable, it shows a charging icon, that means the screen works. Can someone help me fix the issue of the display not working? When I hold down the power button to start the device, it doesn't vibrate, or when I want to perform a reboot by holding volume down and power button, I don't know if it turned off, because it doesn't vibrate.
