Square Enix is reportedly working on a Fullmetal Alchemist mobile game

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 01:01 AM PDT

Square Enix has revealed that they are working on a Fullmetal Alchemist mobile game. The anime is based on ancient alchemy, as the show presents middle age chemistry collaboration with spiritual beliefs. Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric, the two brothers, are the main characters in this series. Square Enix has announced on their 20th anniversary live stream that soon they will launch a Fullmetal Alchemist mobile game for both Android and iOS.

Not much is currently known about the game except the brief announcement. More details will be revealed later this year.

Game like Hoplite, but with a little more variety / depth?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 10:39 PM PDT

    What I like about Hoplite:

    1. Casual, turn based action where I have to think about what I'm doing
    2. Short game sessions

    What I'm searching more of:

    1. A little more variety of "builds" between runs (skills, loot) that leaves me updating my strategy
    2. Progression between runs, so when I do die I feel like it wasn't wasted

Games I see suggested but I'm not interested in:

    1. BuriedBornes - This is way too hard to get into, I hate to blame the graphics but man there's a lot going on and I can't just commit hours to understand the basics
    2. Shattered Pixel Dungeon (or similar clones) - I've tried a few times and I just don't get it
    3. Emulators - lots of people here love emulators, but I'm looking for something with mobile first support

Games to play while listening to a podcast?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 11:53 PM PDT

I love listening to podcasts while playing games on my tablet. Currently I play Slay the Spire and Stardew Valley, and these are quite nice.

    Any other suggestions?

Need recommendation for similar games to Heroes of M&M and M&M itself without microtransaction

Basically I want to find these two genres of strategy and dungeon crawling on android that doesn't have gacha mechanic or any kind of further nagging apart from the one time and final pricetag.

Suggestions for a mom that exclusively plays Candy Crush

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 12:38 PM PDT

My mom (~50) recently expressed interest in playing a game to keep her mind active in a productive way. The only game she plays is Candy Crush, and I'd like to help her branch out a bit and find one that isn't so predatory and respects the player a bit more.

So I'm trying to find a free puzzle game with anything from no ads to a couple of non-intrusive ads.

My first thought was to find some Picross game, since I enjoy it as well, but it was hard to find a free one that didn't play ads after every level. I'm not entirely sure she'd like it though, because it inherently deals with numbers, and that might be hard for her to get past. She's not really a math person. But if you have any good Picross app suggestions, feel free to throw them out.

And keep in mind, she's not a gamer by any stretch of the imagination, and she can barely use her phone without messing up her home screen icons and not realizing what she's doing, so simpler games are appreciated.

Looking for a game if you have some extra

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 10:18 PM PDT

Hi! Im looking for an online game that i can spend $10 to 30 a month. Ive accepted that theres no quality online game thats free (not p2w) or premium.

    1. Has multiplayer
    2. Not into retro or pixelated graphics
    3. Age of the game doesnt matter as long as it has an active community
    4. Gacha is ok as long as the chance is fair
    5. Not into waifu type of graphics
    6. Im open to any game type.

Edit: 7. Good pvp mechanics is a huge plus
