| Has Google built in a TikTok service working into the OS? Posted: 19 Jul 2021 07:15 AM PDT I started a new project that has a web view in it. Super simple app. It's just a web browser wrapped in an app. I started noticing all these This is all in the Emulator running API 29 (Q). I'm not using any external libraries. This is just a brand new out-of-the-box app. Am I mistaken with what's going on?

| Google Play bots signup after releasing bundle to Store Posted: 19 Jul 2021 01:10 AM PDT Hello Google Dev masters, Every time I send a release to Google Play Store I get a couple of new installs from users that look like Google Play bots. This seems to be happening in Production or Internal releases. I've disabled the Pre-launch report already. I assume they are bots because they all follow the pattern {name}.{number}@gmail.com I was wondering if there could be any way to prevent this, or at least detect them in a programmatic way - other than the pattern I mentioned, which is also the pattern for a couple of real user emails. The problem with this is that my activation and retention metrics are affected and the cohort analysis becomes doubtful due to this. Thanks in advance! 🙌 [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 19 Jul 2021 12:16 AM PDT Hi everyone, is there any tool you guys use to test your app on multiple phone models/screen sizes/android versions? We have an app that is mostly design based and we'd like to test it on as many different phones as possible and Android studio emulators are not enough for that (in our opinion), as there are only Pixels and Nexuses available... What would you suggest? BR [link] [comments] | ||

| [HELP] Jetpack Compose vs XML For The Absolute Beginners Posted: 18 Jul 2021 01:55 PM PDT Hey everybody! I have a quick question, I am on the way to learning Kotlin and Android, I will soon switch to android and started researching about XML and Compose, I really couldn't like XML( I actually hated it :( ) and loved the Compose which is similar to the Dart/Flutter, but from what I researched that Compose is not stable yet, which is really interesting to me. How the heck this amazing system cannot be stable so far? So my question is, What if I will directly start picking up the "Jetpack Compose" from the very beginning and without touching the XML, would this be a proper way? I mean, Will I encounter some problems with Compose because it is not stable? Please also consider that I will be still a beginner in the next 1 year, maybe Compose will be stable till then? (I hope it will :) any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance [link] [comments] | ||
