| Anyone have their app(s) on Google Play Pass? What's the revenue like? Posted: 16 Jul 2021 10:54 PM PDT How do you put your game/app on Play Pass (the play store's monthly subscription service)? Does google reach out to you or is there some kind of application process sign up for it? Do you make more or less money than normal ads/purchases? [link] [comments] | ||
| Dear Freelancers, can you share your journey? Posted: 17 Jul 2021 07:41 AM PDT I am a CS Student (almost master) and am interested in the Freelancer-Path, although I don't really know any people that follow this path. [link] [comments] | ||
| Do apps know when you disable notifications? Posted: 16 Jul 2021 07:14 PM PDT If I disable notifications for an app in "App info" android setting (not internal app settings) could the app know that I've done this, or will it think nothing's changed and "try" to send push notifications as usual? I'm running Android 8.1.0. [link] [comments] | ||

| Resources/Tutorials for in app billing subscriptions? Posted: 17 Jul 2021 08:55 AM PDT Hey, I've been trying to implement google play's in app billing, for a premium app version subscription and I can't find any proper help for this. All I can find are uselss 1 hour of messy code tutorials and very abstract documentation that don't really explain the api well. Does anyone know any tutorial/website that would explain how to implement it properly without any bs? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 17 Jul 2021 08:41 AM PDT My friend has created an application with AppSheet which doesn't require any coding knowledge. We used it for our project and now I want to recreate it using Android Studio. Question is which language would be better to learn. I don't plan on creating any more android apps (for now at least) and I know python (intermediate level) / C (finished cs50 harvard course) so I think I won't find any other language much difficult. As I read on other posts, kotlin is better for long-term android development, but since it is becoming a much popular language I though learning it would be a good idea despite being more difficult than Java. On the other hand, I don't have any actual experience with OOP and Java would be better (as I also read on reddit). What are your suggestions to create just this one app? App itself is quite simple - there are just cities listed with their bus route information. Also we had google maps implemented and could it be a reason to use Kotlin (as it is recommended by Google)? [link] [comments] | ||
| Adding a repo in my android project as a submodule Posted: 17 Jul 2021 04:16 AM PDT I've been having issues adding a submodule to my android project. I've tried all tutorials and some solutions available online but none exactly says what to do add a submodule and also keep your commits on it in sync with the main repo. What actually I want to do: Main Project: A submodule: demo I want to keep the demo repo as a base app to keep all my designs, libraries, and templates so that I can just add this submodule to all my projects and just pick reusable stuff from here instead of rewriting everything every time. See this issue for more details: Link to stackoverflow post Please help, I've been stuck in this for weeks. Thanks so much in advance. [link] [comments] | ||

| admob ads not displayed on amazon app store Posted: 17 Jul 2021 03:42 AM PDT I uploaded same app to Google Play Store and Amazon App Store. Both of their package names are identical, so I use same admob banner ids at both. But only apk downloaded from Google Play Store is showing ads. apk downloaded from Amazon App Store shows blank instead of banner ad. I guess AdMob shows the ads only when the apk signed with Google Play Store certificate. Is there any solution for this problem? [link] [comments] | ||

| Help me find a course as a beginner in android dev with previous programming exp! Posted: 16 Jul 2021 11:35 AM PDT Hello, I have been looking for an android development course using java all day and I cant seem to find a good one. I have previous web dev exp, cpp, c. From what I read I need one that is up to date, teaching in java(my requirement) android 11, and that makes things clear you know. Theres this yt video fromfreecodecamp but I dont know if it's up to date and enough, 20 hours seems a bit short https://youtu.be/fis26HvvDII The popular courses on udemy are about android 7 and I saw people saying that's not a good choice. Same thing about Googles nanondegree. Theres this udemy course that ticked the boxes but I cant find some honest reviews https://www.udemy.com/course/full-android-course-with-14-real-apps-42-hours/ Any help? [link] [comments] |
