| Mi Box S not mounting external drives Posted: 03 Jun 2021 06:15 PM PDT Hi, I've just bought a Mi box S which I primarily want to use as a media box to play video files stored on an external HDD whilst I'm traveling both domestically and internationally. The box will be loaded with Kodi and VLC to play the video files from the HDD. The trouble is, I've tried mounting various usb drives, ranging from 8gb through to 2tb and differing formats from NTFS, exfat and Fat32. None of them are being read by the box, a notification is displayed top corner that reads "corrupted San disk usb drive tap to fix" I've read that this was a problem with previous android releases, so I have updated and am running version 9 I'm now performing a system reset to factory settings and starting again. I now watched a YouTube video of a MI smart tv which has android tv 9.0. Android is google..and on my android phone i can download the sky x app. Is it also possible on android tv? Android 4.4.2 Build number: M8S.BCM4335.201510291048 Kernel version: 3.10.33 ubuntu@google-server #1 thu oct 29 10:51:20 cst 2015 when i click system update it says network connection failed but wifi is working lol i found a site called entertainmentbox that instructs how to update to firmware from 2017 using an SD card and other things i'm confused about. but can i update from a usb? how important is it to update? and should i be trying to update its android version? all i really use it for is MX Player, which i'm running an old version of as well and not sure if i should wanna update that too? Currently, I use Sendfilestotv app to send movies from my laptop to tv. But this a lot of work. I am looking for an app like Syncthing which syncs files on my laptop and tv over wifi. With something like this, everything happens in the background, I need not do anything. My tv has 32GB internal storage, so storage in tv is not a problem. One can use hdmi cable to play movies on laptop on tv. But I don't have hdmi cable. Also, I don't want to keep my laptop turned on during this process. [link] [comments] | ||
| power brick suggestion for Chromecast with Google TV for use with hub Posted: 03 Jun 2021 10:50 PM PDT I tried using my pixel slate's charger (which I think is ~45W) with my hub but CC just boot loops. How do I check the signal strength of an OTA tv channel, is there even a way to do it on an Android tv. I have YaMon installed on my router and it is never able to record the bandwidth being used when playing youtube through SmartTubeNext. If I stream anything through any other app on my Google Chromecast with Google TV it records the bandwidth usage just fine., just not through sTube. [link] [comments] | ||
| Missing System Optimize Button | TCL C715 Posted: 03 Jun 2021 04:48 PM PDT As the title says, I used to have a system optimize button in the Home Screen at the top right, but for some reason I don't have it now. It's pretty helpful for me since I can clear the cache with one click, but now I can't since it's gone. What replaced it was this useless user center by TCL that does absolutely nothing. I updated my apps prior, but I'm not sure which app affected it. Any ideas how I can get it back without having to factory reset? [link] [comments] | ||
