To all you developers... Rethink your tutorial.

I know, I know. You don't want to lose people that never played a video game in their life. Potential whales and all that.

But 99% of your potential player base KNOWS that you actually can improve your heroes' stats by leveling them up. Yes, we KNOW that equipping items makes us stronger.

And yes, as shocking as it may be, we fucking KNOW that dungeon 4 is more dangerous than dungeon 3.

So.... what's the conclusion? Well, up to you, I'm not a developer.

Looking for a good game where the goal is to make money

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 07:48 PM PDT

I want a game that involves gaining money and then investing it. Rather that be through a simulated stock market, or renting out properties or opening businesses etc. If anyone knows of a game like this it would be appreciated

Edit: just wanna say thanks for all the suggestions guys. I've played a couple of the games mentioned but it seems like you were able to point out some hidden gems that I'm excited to try. Thanks Reddit

    Top down view game recommendations

I want multiplayer games similar to Bullet Echo and Brawl Stars. The similarity is the camera angle. I got used to it in Brawl Stars and I liked it. Then started playing Bullet Echo and it was also good but heavily pay to win and had no way of winning with its ridiculous matching algorithm.

So looking for mildly pay to win games of this nature that I can play with my friends online. Thanks

$55 Razer Kishi at Best Buy ebay page

A lot of people like the Gamesir X2 USB-C controller, but this is still a great controller and you can't argue with this price. Big upgrade from a BT controller.

Also, if you're a more serious gamer, especially with racing games, the analog triggers here cannot be beat.

I recently added these two adapters with a USB-C extension cord and can connect to my tablet, which is more powerful than my phone. Same method could hook this up to a laptop and you can use this while closed. So this is a small investment to double the usefulness. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08V8MCFNC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Low Latency Bluetooth Earbuds

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 11:39 AM PDT

I've started just using my music earbuds when I play games on my phone, but I've noticed a nearly 1 second lag between the game and what I hear, which sometimes isn't a big deal, but when playing anything multiplayer starts to hurt.

My current set are cheapo knockoff airpods. I can't stand any of the mushroom/foam/IEM type units that create a full seal around your ear canal, these are the first pair that haven't caused awful migraines in years. Besides, I prefer to be able to talk to people or hear stuff going on around me.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

The MiniReview app is great! If you're sick of the play stores review system, check it out.

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 09:37 AM PDT

I just want to recommend this game review app "MiniReview". If you're like me, and don't trust the play stores star rating system, or find the user reviews generally unhelpful, have a look. I've had it downloaded for a few months now and it's super helpful.

The reviews seem fair, well structured and are very detailed (several paragraphs worth). It's got a lot of info about monetisation and ads, which I like. The 5 star review system is broken up into controls, art style, game play and monetisation.

While not every game on the play store is on there (a big ask obviously), multiple new games are added seemingly every week and I get the impression that popular new releases are prioritised.

The end of each review has a link directly to the play store page, which is awesome. The keyword tag system is extensive as well.

I've found a handful of games that I think are awesome, that I never would have found by scrolling though the play store recommended page.

The dev is doing a great job. I highly recommend MiniReview!

(I'm not affiliated in any way btw)

    Looking for an old game

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 08:41 AM PDT

Ive seen someone asks for an old game that they forgot so I thought I'll give it a try.

Ive been looking for this android game that is metroidvania-esque. My recollections of the game are hazy but here are some things that I remember.

The title screen is a guy with two half faces of girls at each other. They look similar. MC fights Cerberus early game. You travel through mirrors.

Im sorry if the details are few but Im hoping someone might recognize the game

Does anyone remember 111% games like BBTAN CCTAN and others?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 07:43 AM PDT

There was a game I used to play that was a clone of a game on steam by the name of Ctrl CV where you have to keep track of yourself in a large group of clones. However this game along with another favorite of mine, Charles by the same company, seem to have disappeared from existence. Does anyone have any info on this?

Of Archero and it's countless clones, which are the best?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 03:11 PM PDT

If I were to settle on just one, don't care about ads, but won't be paying for any IAPs, looking for replayability and the ability to pick it up and put it down. Which one should I focus on?

What are your thoughts on clones, android gamers?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2021 01:19 AM PDT

I've been a pc gamer my entire life and have gotten into mobile games pretty recently (3 mo maybe) And i'm realizing that cloning is rampant in this industry. I really enjoyed playing Archero and a few days ago I found its clone that was popular. The clone was fun but it bothered me that it just copied everything from archero; they just swapped the archer with a tank. I can understand that a game mechanic can be copied a few years after the game's release, but that tank clone copied things like map layout, UI layout, reward system, etc. I mean, i was hoping they at least change the ui layout lol

I was wondering if clones have ever turned you away from playing them simply by virtue of being a blatant clone or am I the weird one for feeling this way?

Games where you can make things for other people?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 09:12 PM PDT

The title probably doesn't really capture what I mean well. I know there are a ton of creative games and apps out there that let you make things. Invent, put together things, decorate, and just create in general. I kinda want to know of a few games that fall under that category because I wanna be able to make some things for friends and share with them. "I made this for you" kinda vibe. Just something that crossed my mind haha.

If there are any recommendations, I'd look into them.
