    Does my new Android TV app show up as compatible with your device?

    My new world news app (2200+ channels, 90+ languages) is supposed to be compatible with my Android TV device (DynaLink) according to the Google Play Publisher, but when I try to install it from my web browser on Google Play, Google Play says that and my Nebula Projector are incompatible!

    So, does anyone here have Google Play saying this app is compatible with their Android TV device?

    In no, what device?

    (Because Google Play seems to think it is incompatible, I can't test search from Google Play on Android TV to start the process of optimizing my store listing to hopefully make it discoverable.)

    P.S. I don't know what the rules are here on sharing side loadable apks, but we do have a beta available that I can share if that's OK. It's a basic start with many pending features to be released quickly once we can actually get it out to people.

    Alternative for Infuse. Cloud Player.

    I am looking for a player that can play movies and music from the Google Drive. I have been using the great Infuse on the Apple TV.

    I checked KODI with Google Drive KODI Addon but I don't like this solution.

    Plex on the other hand requires NAS.

    Any ideas? What do you recommend?

    I can't fix audio boost on my Nokia Android TV

    I have Nokia 43inch UHD Android TV. Recently I used an app pre-installed "Audio Connect" on my TV and since then audio output of TV is increased to many folds. Even using TV audio output at 5% (volume bar), it sounds unbearable to hear. I used that app to connect my phone to TV via Bluetooth for listening songs and now it caused audio boost.

    I tried resetting all the settings (including audio and whole TV reset) but still it didn't fixed up the problem. I don't know what caused the problem and also I recently upgraded to new Android update. Is new update is the cause because earlier using same app gave no problem? Or is it a hardware problem now cause I reset any settings I can find and problem still exist? Any ideas?

    Change name of Chromecast built-in in Sony TV

    Hi,

    I cannot find in the internet how/if I'm able to change network name of Chromecast built-in from my Sony TV (Android 8)

    It says now some default name "Bravia4KBlaBlaBla". This name is displayed as available casting device in my cell phone. I never set something like this in TV.

    When I turn on TV from sleep, and wait for few minutes, this Chromecast built-in is discovered in the network with different name of "Cinema Room TV" -> this is correct and reflects the name I have set up in TV in the settings. This time, the name "Bravia4KBlaBlaBla" is no longer available.

    Google Duo, Google Meet and Jami on the Nokia box

    Setup: Nokia Streaming Box 8000 + Logitech C920 webcam + a Bluetooth mouse.

    I wrote about it previously on this subreddit, but now I played with this a bit and have more data points, maybe it will be of interest to some of you.

    • Google Duo - (from Play Store) works, but people see me like in a mirror (flipped left-to-right)
    • Jami - (from Play Store) works, people see me normally (but nobody uses this except Linux geeks, right?)
    • Google Meet
      • native (sideloaded) - no camera and no sound, pretty much useless
      • website opened in sideloaded Firefox (the real one for Android, not the deprecated Fire TV one) - like Duo, works, but people see me mirrored (flipped left-to-right)
      • website opened in sideloaded Microsoft Edge - works, people see me normally

    Note that in Firefox and Edge you need to use the "Request desktop site" option after opening meet.google.com, initially you'll get the mobile page which only promotes the native phone app. Also, the browsers are unusable without a mouse.

    Caveat: seems the video quality suffers a bit in Meet opened in browsers, but it may be bearable for some.

    If anyone has any idea why Edge and Jami don't flip the image, but Duo and Firefox do and what can be done about this, let me know. :)

    Android Box Question

    So, this might not be allowed here, but I can't find an active subreddit that I think might be better (except maybe just r/Android?). But anyway, I need to pick up an Android box to be able to stream to for work, replacing an old one that broke. Problem is, Android TV doesn't seem to support the installation of browsers anymore, and the *only* thing I need it to be able to do is run Firefox. Is there anything specific I should be looking for?

    Google TV is a mess (can't remove Google play TV)

    Just got a sony a90j model upgrade from ag9 and I hate it no longer can I remove Google play TV i can't remove viki either these are just a waste of space I may use viki but I will never use Google play TV how do I get rid of it it doesn't even feel like a sony tv it feels like a Google TV the Google logo permanently in the corner it's just too much
