| Media player can't find new mp3s, can't clear media storage data (pixel 4a, android 11) Posted: 28 May 2021 09:44 AM PDT I use the Pulsar media player and have never had any trouble before with just copying mp3s to the phone's sdcard/Music/ folder. Today, I added a few albums (in folders right along side existing album folders that work fine) and Pulsar just doesn't see them. I had it "rescan library" several times, I cleared Pulsar's data and reconfigured all my preferences, and it still won't see them. Astro File Manager does see them, and if I open the tracks in Pulsar from Astro they play just fine, but Pulsar still won't show them in the music library. I saw some mention of clearing the Media Storage system app's data to force the system to rebuild its index of media files, but on my device when I open the Media Storage app settings, the "Clear storage" button is grayed out so I cannot use it, though it does report 31 MB "User data" usage (but 0 "Cache"). Started notice it wouldn't charge even with chargers that worked on other peoples phones. Now the only way my phone will charge is if I plug it into a pc, it doesn't work with any power bricks (except one which keeps it at the same battery level( What's going on, it seems like my phones battery just might be fucked Ive tried restarting my phone, turning USB debugging on and off, starting in safe mode, blowing dust out of my charging port. | SD card became corrupted, is there a way to download all my Google photos back onto my phone? Posted: 28 May 2021 01:03 PM PDT So my SD card became corrupted last week and the only important things I lost wer all of my old photos. Luckily they're all backed up to my Google account, but I can't seem to figure out a way to easily "sync" my photos back onto my phone. I tried doing a google data export and downloaded all my photos onto my phone with a zip file, however the photo dates and location metadata are wrong so they all appear out of order, showing up as new and location data is often incorrect. Is there a way to get all my Google photos back onto my phone while preserving the date they were taken and the correct location metadata? Thanks! [link] [comments] |

| USB to mini usb Charging only cable Posted: 28 May 2021 10:37 AM PDT does anyone know where i could find one of these? i just want the charging cable for a gps device so i can use my phones charger with the gps device. all of the cables i can find so far on amazon Canada that are charging are from like 2015 or earlier and not sold anymore.. does anyone have a store that makes them or has these charge only cables in stock? i know you can hack them to make charge only cables but i don't want to leave it plugged in someone and burn my car down or something [link] [comments] |
| Galaxy S10+ Startup - Connection to google. Posted: 28 May 2021 10:36 AM PDT I bought a renewed Galaxy S10+ (Dual Sim) from Amazon Uk, but during start up I experienced a problem. It all starts fine, put in the language added WiFi, it checked for updates (There were none). It then asked me if I wanted to migrate things from my old phone. My old phone is dead dead, won't turn on dead, so that wasn't an option. I skipped that hopeing to continue moving forwards. It then loaded for a second or two until I got an error message "Couldn't sign in. There was a problem communicating with Googles servers. Try again later.". Online people have solutions but they all require full access to the phone, something I do not have when on start up. I have since tried to connect several times even trying to tranfer the account over a physical connection from my siblings phone to no avail. I also tried a hard reset but it didn't seem to let me do this, gave me a pop up message. Hopefully one of you have a solution as if I have to send it back I will not have time to get a phone before I go on Holiday (A Covid safe one of course)! | Phone call goes to watch when I select headset Posted: 28 May 2021 12:27 PM PDT Sometimes (not always), my phone will connect a call to my Galaxy Active 2 Watch instead of my Jabra headset. I specifically pick Jabra Headset in the list of options (phone, speaker, etc) and it still goes to the watch. I can't put the watch in Airplane mode because it says I am on a call (even when using the speaker on the phone). It is very frustrating. I am guessing this is an Android problem and not a watch or headset problem. I have a Pixel 3XL with the latest update. Any ideas on fixing this? Obviously I can disconnect the watch from my phone's BT, but that is a temporary fix. [link] [comments] |
| Does TWRP compromise phone encryption? Posted: 28 May 2021 12:13 PM PDT I have LineageOS installed on my phone and i have also TWRP recovery installed. I encrypted my phone, but when i reboot to TWRP and go to advanced>file manager i can browse my internal storage and see all of my files, and also can browser /data/app and /data/data and view installed apps and apps data. Bad choice, since it stopped working in my Android device with USB after that. It still works via Bluetooth, but that's inconvenient (as it requires a pair of AA batteries and BT is such a crappy standard). Has anyone experienced something like that? I rebooted, ran it again with Uber unchecked, and now it's stalled on Twitch. It restored VLC, Vanced, WhatsApp, WiFi Prioritizer and a couple of others in a few seconds, but doesn't seem to want to go any further. | Need help integrating my brother-in-law into society Posted: 28 May 2021 07:02 AM PDT Buckle up, this is a weird one. My wife has an adopted brother who is about half our age and just turned 18, is graduating HS, and moving out of his parents house within weeks. My in-laws are religious fundamentalists for lack of a better term, the only phone my BiL has ever had is the t9 version of the jitterbug. They've restricted the phone so he can only call his parents and my wife. They block most internet access at home so unsurprisingly he doesn't have friends and comes off as socially awkward; he really is a good person though. We're giving him a new laptop and desktop when he moves out so his parents can't tamper with them, but getting him a phone is a bit more of an issue. We're 99% sure his parents won't pay for a phone with a data plan so we're going to take care of it. My wife and I have oneplus 6T's on t-mobile and can upgrade whenever. We're thinking of giving him one of our phones since they're in good shape and have good battery life. We'd like to sell the second phone and put that money towards a prepaid plan or something for him. Are our phones tied to t-mobile and there is nothing we can do? Would we be better off selling both phones and doing a plan with cricket or something? Any suggestions for a prepaid plan or the like would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. [link] [comments] |

She says she hasn't been on this website for 7 months (before we were together) but to me it seems strange that it would suddenly appear, where mine would predict something like 'the' or 'I'. I have tried out every kind of bypass stunt there is online, and none of them seem to work. This brute security system is good but what is the point of it, if the police are not interested in the first place to search for stolen property? I have tried out the android hidden settings which gives access to the screen lock, but it just doesn't get reset. Everytime i restart, i get the same hard reset- please type pincode or email. No skip nothing, whatsoever. I dont have an extra samsung phone to do that share link something. The bypass had to be done via pc. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 28 May 2021 01:31 AM PDT I've dropped my phone in water yesterday and I put it in rice and some of those humidity absorbing bags and prayed. When I dropped it I couldn't turn the screen on it was just black and I thought the screen had shorted or something . Today when I tried to boot it up it showed the boot screen just fine (Where it shows the mobile you're on and that it's running android screen) and when that screen went away , the screen was black but not because it wasn't working but I could see it's turned on but just not working.
