| Locked out of phone while changing pattern Posted: 15 May 2021 03:46 AM PDT I have a Redmi Y1 and while I was changing the pattern lock I turned my phone off and now it won't unlock using the old pattern and the new one isn't working because I didn't complete changing it. And I can't factory reset because I have a WhatsApp with a deactivated number and was going to change it but haven't yet. Please help! It would be really appreciated. [link] [comments] |

| Google storage is full even though i have 115gbs instead of 15. Posted: 15 May 2021 08:25 AM PDT It tells me that I've used 57 out of 15gbs and my storage is now full. Google photos stopped backing up photos because i ran out of space apparently. Google drive still tells me that i have used 57 out of 115gbs which is fair. Is this some sort of bug? | Softbricked device get permissions. Posted: 15 May 2021 10:08 AM PDT Hello,I have softbricked/bootlooped tf101g transformer pad. After root I got stuck on cyanogen mod load screen. The situation I'm in: When cold boot stuck at cyanogen mod load screen . When normal boot stuck at eee pad screen. When go to recovery mode I get only android icon to cold boot and a wipe icon that freezes the device. I have adb access but when I try to use the One-click Recovery042(the same way I rooted it) it says I have no permissions. /Dev/block/mmcblk0p3:cannot open for write: permission denied. Help please. | Android 11 no longer lets you OPEN screenshots or see their notifications from the menu Posted: 15 May 2021 08:38 AM PDT Everybody posting about the screenshot function in Android 11 always talk about where the screenshot function itself is located. But another issue with this 'upgrade', is that it both removes the option to OPEN/VIEW the screenshots when taking them AND also its notification from the stack for later handling. Now, I have no problems taking screenshots on my device, but is there some kind of option or workaround to enable one to open the screenshot instead of just edit/delete, and get back them back in the notification tray? Before this blasted update, I liked to open and rename them instantly (in another photo viewer such as QuickPic). [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 15 May 2021 08:20 AM PDT Hi, any help I can get will be very much appreciated. I have a Samsung S8+ from 2018 that never received updates since I bought it(2nd hand phone). I'm trying to update to Android 9 using firmware downloaded from Sammobile website. My phones model number is SM-G955FD and csc code is XTC/XTC/BRI. I downloaded the XTC which I believe is correct. I thought this was going to be smooth sailing until I tried to access download mode. Now, another thing is my phone got wet inside(long story) although it's still working the volume up button stopped working. That being said I can't access download mode directly, therefore I can't use Odin to flash. When selecting bootloader in recovery mode it just restarts the phone(Unlocked OEM). I thought of using adb sideload but I don't know where to find the correct OTA file. I've never done this before(clearly) but I did try and I did do some research. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 15 May 2021 11:43 AM PDT I have WhatsApp messages and media from as far back as 2014. Recently I noticed that my phone storage was waaaay less that it's supposed to be. Knowing that my WhatsApp is responsible for most of the storage being used in my phone I quickly search for my WhatsApp folder. And I see 14 items in my videos folder FOURTEEN. I'm literally crying rn because I don't know how that happened and I haven't backed up on Google Drive in 2 years (the last time I switched my phone (to a Samsung Galaxy A50)) because I used to have trash wifi and now that I have good wifi my WhatsApp doesn't back up and I think it's because of the Android 11 update. Anyway, I'd be willing to lose 2 years o messages for the videos I'd recover IF I hadn't been with my boyfriend for just over 2 years. I don't want to lose those messages. But I neeeeeed my videos. I've looked at themes but they're all for app icons. Context: I run in Do Not Disturb most of the time to suppress notifications in general, but have a few people designated as VIPs (spouse, kids, parents). In general I want to always see VIP notifications. Question: Is there a way to temporarily suppress all notifications, even from VIPs, for an intentional set period of time? Use case: A quick 20-minute meditation or other intentional "focus time" where *all* notifications are suppressed. I want the notifications to be suppressed in every way: nothing in the tray, no banners, no sounds or vibrations. When the timer elapses, the phone reverts to its original (i.e., probably DnD) state and VIP notifications can come through. Restrictions: I'm aware of airplane mode and I'm aware I can just power the phone off. I'd like to still be able to passively receive streaming data (e.g., dreamy meditation music from the internet piped to Bluetooth headphones, whether WiFi or mobile). I'd also like to be able to do this quickly, i.e., not digging through 5 layers of settings menus nor changing VIP status for all my VIPs every time I want to focus. What say you, Android experts? | Tips about wearables and sleep tracking / smart alarms Posted: 15 May 2021 09:31 AM PDT I have been using sleep as android to wake me up in the morning, and the smart alarm thing is a godsend, I've been having much better mornings. But I know that I can use smart alarm apps together with smartbands to have a even better experience. Looking up some smartbands a few months ago I've gathered that while most smartbands are pretty similar, but I've seen that the Honor Band 4 has a better sleep tracking. But like I said, that was a long time ago, so what about nowadays? Is there any specific smartband that is best suited for sleep tracking? | How to extract online images from an Android app? Posted: 15 May 2021 07:40 AM PDT Hello, for a while I've been wanting to save some pretty background images I've seen on a weather app I use. And I've read through other posts on Reddit and from Android Stack Exchange that this can be done from APK images that are there with installation. But when it comes to this app I've got, it looks like these images are loaded dynamically through the internet. And I've got no clue on how to find those. Now I've heard about debugging/inspecting apps with Google Chrome, but I've really got no clue of what I should do. Also, no, this app doesn't have a website where I could inspect element and find it. But yeah, I might've not explained this in the best way because I'm not too tech-savvy when it comes to this part of Android but if anyone could help it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. It takes a very long time to open the camera and to where we can take the first picture, and the video when it records is SUPER choppy. | How to "transmit audio through the microfone" on Android?(Stereo mix) Posted: 15 May 2021 05:36 AM PDT My objetive is the following: Manage to connect my Android on my Xbox parties with the app and be able to play music on then just like a music bot. This IS possible on PC by just setting the audio input to Stereo mix, that means, making the sounds that the computer itself makes be capted by the microfone. It's really easy to set that there, with no external softwares whatsoever. But I've been though some difficulties trying to do that on Android, I have a Xiaomi Redmi note 10 with android 11 in it, but i've searched for days for methods, and couldn't find a straight one, can I get any help? | Transferring collection of photos from Android to Mac Posted: 15 May 2021 12:50 AM PDT I'm going to reset my phone (Pixel 3) so need to remove all the photos and media off the phone and onto my Mac (and then put it all back again after it's reset). I've tried Android file transfer but it's incredibly slow and keeps crashing. Tried OpenMTP too, same issues. Any other ideas? I could upload everything to Google Photos, but a) I don't really want to for privacy reasons and b) Once uploaded, can I download them onto my device and then delete them from the cloud? Thanks.
