| Ads Downloaded as JSON files in secret Posted: 30 May 2021 06:17 AM PDT Today, I was transferring photos from my Samsung A50, and I left it on file transfer instead of just photo transfer, and I noticed random pictures in the mix of my photos. What caught my attention is that most of these are thumbnails or related to ads I have seen on apps recently. I have made sure multiple times to set all my games to not have media access. I also noticed, just random pictures downloaded, for example, there is a picture of Saddam Hussein, and below that is a picture of two small diamonds. I have never seen these photos before. When I hover over them, they have "JSON" in the file name. I don't know how they are apparently downloaded to my device, or where they came from. Is this some type of ad-ware? Are these necessary files? How do I delete them, because they don't show up anywhere on my phone. [link] [comments] |

I have tried several sites like Paypal, Amazon and Walmart already, but they only accept banking accounts that support USD as the currency, which is something I don't have access to. | I turned on a feature and don't know where I can turn it off Posted: 30 May 2021 01:31 AM PDT A few weeks ago my phone asked me to if I wanted to turn on a feature that loaded a part of apps if needed without the need to install them or something like that. I thought "sure I'll try it." But I don't know how to turn it off. I already ran into a few problem by enabling this feature. When I tap something that would normally open google or google chrome on my phone, it would open an overlay that didn't work correctly. Does anyone remember such a feature and how to turn it off or was I dreaming or something. [link] [comments] |
| Connecting Bluetooth to wheelchair Posted: 30 May 2021 12:24 PM PDT I recently got a new wheelchair that has the ability to use the joystick as a Bluetooth mouse on my Android phone, it's awesome. I can also charge the phone off the battery which is great. However there is one issue where the Bluetooth mouse on the chair doesn't automatically reconnect to the phone, I have to go into Bluetooth settings on the phone and manually reconnect to the chair. Is there any way to make this automatic or a command in Google Assistant? The phone is a pixel 5. [link] [comments] |

| YouTube app memory leak on stock Galaxy S10, best way to fix it? Posted: 30 May 2021 11:20 AM PDT Hi, I've been hunting for a solution to this problem for a while now, but it seems to not be a particularly widespread issue. I use YouTube a ton on my phone, and I've noticed for a few months now that after a while, everything becomes much slower to load, until the video itself starts to become choppy, freeze, and then the whole app crashes, sometimes forcing Android to refresh as well. This appears to be linked to how many comments I load in, and how many videos I click, particularly through the 'recommended' list underneath videos rather than going through my subscriptions page each time, however that latter bit may just be because I watch way more videos through the recommended list. It feels like it's a memory leak, something to do with comments all being loaded to a cache which isn't properly cleared once a new video is loaded, however I have used the performance overlays in dev options and it's not ballooning my ram usage at all, and CPU / GPU usage wasn't spiking like you might expect to see with lag like this. Anyways, speculation about what might be causing this aside, it is quite annoying and I'd like to fix it however I can. Unfortunately, YouTube being a stock app on Android, I'm unable to completely reinstall it. I've tried clearing the app cache, deleting all updates, and reinstalling those, but it hasn't helped. I have also tried 'repair apps' from the recovery menu, but that hasn't had any effect either. Any advice on what to try next? Posted: 30 May 2021 10:35 AM PDT I have searched around on Google for how to do this and I don't see such an option/ ability anywhere, other than perhaps some third party apps that cost ~$30 for full features and require their usage over Messages. Is it possible to do this? In the last couple weeks I have been receiving dozens of spam texts, mostly from random Gmail accounts, with links attached. It comes to our business cell which has the number published multiple places online, so imagine that's where they have collected it from. Any help is appreciated. [link] [comments] |

When I compare the music quality of both, using any Bluetooth or auxiliary connected devices, I notice that my phone's music quality is SIGNIFICANTLY lower. Almost garbage. Why is that? I don't use the equalizer on the phone because it makes the volume super low. And I like some good bass, so, I don't really use my phone for music. They have an excruciating verification process for new devices, and I geniuenly am being held back because I don't want to go through the process again. In OpenCamera I have set "Make shutter sound," but all I get is the same noise for screen Tap instead of the specific click-sound. | Desktop Mode for Moto Edge+ Not working Posted: 30 May 2021 08:50 AM PDT Hi, I have a Motorola Edge Plus with Android 11 and I cannot get the desktop mode to come back on. I first plugged in an Anker USB-C to HDMI cable about 2 weeks ago and it popped up but then i got busy and i closed out of it. Since that time, I have had to turn a lot of permissions on/off and change some settings around due to my phone doing some weird shit. I messed with a lot of Accessibility and Display Over Apps options. Now, when I plug in the cable....nothing pops up. I have already gone through the Moto apps to see if anything looks off and the settings appear to look normal now. What can i look into to get this Desktop Mode up and running again? The feature isn't that useful to me but I can see how it can be useful to others and I want to explore the shit out of it. It seems like it could be really promising. Posted: 30 May 2021 08:32 AM PDT tl;dr-- Google "G+ Suite" accounts (like, a google "business" account) supposedly cannot take Contacts backups from an Android handset...I've found this to be true in my case, am seeing my Photos and Doc's backup properly but no Contacts, which is the most critical for me.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` So I've got SO.....I used the I found a line from a google-tutorial that says you cannot use "work or school accounts" for the "receiving account" here, and fear that's tripping this up...any work-arounds would be greatly appreciated, I mean I only got an Android (I prefer flipphones) for business and that is it's only use, have no desire to go online on my phone if it's not replying to leads or uploading content to my "public image" business/work picture pages, and the fact that Google IS syncing my Doc's shows it can receive....I feel like maybe if I could figure out the CSV/Contacts formatting-files so I can properly upload them all from my phone that way....am stuck right now copying my #'s to a notebook, because losing my contacts&texts would be devastating for me business-wise right now! | Question about quick settings (Android 11) Posted: 30 May 2021 08:26 AM PDT I do not have to many apps installed in my phone but I can choose over more than 30 actions to put in my quick settings menu. Today I just realized that quick settings is useless (and anything but quick). If I am listening to music, I only see two rows (6 icons) in the quick settings...but if I am also with a VPN connection, a message appears and then I only am able to see one row (3 icons)! | How can I save my phone's wallpaper to a new image? Posted: 29 May 2021 06:08 PM PDT A few years ago, my daughter drew a little doodle that I love to pieces. I took a picture of the doodle and set it as my phone's wallpaper. As the years passed, the original doodle is gone. And although I do save all of the photos I take with my phone using Dropbox's camera upload feature, finding the picture will take forever - and there's always the possibility that it might not have gotten backed up correctly. I want to make sure I don't lose this picture. The easiest thing for me is if I could just find where the wallpaper image is saved in the Android file system...but I can't find it, and googling hasn't been helpful. Posted: 30 May 2021 06:56 AM PDT I have no idea what could possibly cause this, but I can not stop lichess.com from making a sound come out of my phone (Galaxy S10). The phone sounds are 100% muted, no other app or website can make sounds. Yet somehow when I move a chess piece a noise still comes out of my speakers. This is pretty concerning because I always assumed the phone OS had total control, but now I'm concerned some rogue video ad is going to override my system volume like Lichess does. I've tried resets and I've double checked that the system is muted. I have no clue on this one. [link] [comments] |
| How to clone Micro SD Card to a larger one? Posted: 30 May 2021 05:41 AM PDT Hello, I have 64 GB micro sd card on my Galaxy S9+ with installed apps, music, photos etc. I've bought 128 GB one and just coppied all the files from my current card to my PC using Micro SD card adapter and then I've transfered the data to the larger one. After that, each of the applications that was installed on the SD card did not work. Also applications like PowerAmp couldn't play any songs and lose all the metadata. I believe that there is a way to do that properly but I couldn't find any information. [link] [comments] |

After making some research save people say that "android does not waste ram if there is unused empthy ram" Well than how do I stop it from using my RAM this much and instead dedicate all my RAM into öne single app which I would be using at the time.
