Posted: 07 Apr 2021 01:07 PM PDT hey! we currently have galaxy s21 ultras, but this happens with every samsung phone my fiancee and i have had. when we have our phones plugged into a wall outlet, they charge just fine, no interruptions. however, when we plug our phones into our computers, the connection is... finnicky. they seem to start and stop charging every 15 seconds, and when transferring data even slightly jostling the charging cable results in a disconnect. we've experienced this with the s7, s20 ultra, and s21 ultra on our desktops. we've even tried using different charging cables, such as the ones we use to charge through the wall. is anyone else experiencing this? does anyone know how to resolve this? thanks in advance! | Virus on Android tablet posing as SystemUpdate. How do I get rid? Posted: 07 Apr 2021 12:54 PM PDT I've recently got a virus on my tablet that redirects me to a hastopic website and an advert for tarot cards. I've already tried removing the malicious apps manually, doing a full reset and using Malwarebytes to get rid of it. However Malwarebytes pops up saying that SystemUpdate is a trojan and I cant remove it, only stop it to be whitelisted. Even when I do disable it the virus pops up again a few hours later. | 3rd Party launchers not working Posted: 07 Apr 2021 12:37 PM PDT I'm running OneUI 3.1 on a Samsung Galaxy A71 5G (UW). I've been trying for the past 45 minutes or so to set Lawnchair 2 as my default launcher. Problem is, there's no setting to do that. I use gesture controls, and every time I swipe up to go to the home page, it brings me to the standard home screen instead of Lawnchair's. There seems to be no option to set a default launcher at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |
| MMS only sending when wifi calling is disabled? Posted: 07 Apr 2021 12:32 PM PDT I really appreciate any advice you can give me. I have an unlocked Samsung Galaxy A51 running Android 10 on Metro. For awhile now (since maybe December 2020) I've had major issues with MMS. They would either straight up fail or say they were sent and not be delivered till way later. I often would not receive texts from group chats either. I'd get the option to download the message but it would always fail. I have tried the native Messages app, the Google Messages app, and Textra. The issue persisted on all those apps. I have tried editing the APN settings based on default Metro settings I found online but that didn't fix the issue. When I disabled wifi calling the problem seems to have gone away but this is an issue for me as I don't usually have good service but have pretty good wifi so I don't want this option switched off and I'd rather not have to change it every time I want to send an MMS. Would anyone know a logical explanation for this issue or a potential solution? I used to think this was a Metro issue but now I'm wondering if it could be an issue with my wifi provider? (I have Spectrum btw). I'm kind of at a loss here and I'd really appreciate any help or explanation you can give. [link] [comments] |
| Old message appearing after factory reset? Posted: 07 Apr 2021 12:29 PM PDT I recently did a factory reset on my OnePlus 6. I pulled stuff off my phone that I wanted via MyPhoneExplorer and when I set it up anew, I chose NOT to restore anything from backup. I found it odd just now when I created a new text message that a previous text message showed up in the history for this person. So far, this is the only contact that's happened with and I'm baffled by this. I don't have any 3rd party cloud backups (that I know of) saving my data, so where did this come from? | Selectively choose which images to save on Whatsapp? Posted: 07 Apr 2021 04:45 AM PDT On iOS, you can view the picture AND THEN choose whether to save it on Gallery or not. On Android, afaik, you either choose to save ALL the images you open, or NONE at all.l, which is ridiculous. How can I get around that issue? I'd really appreciate the help xx. [link] [comments] |

Are there any other phones that even exist with better than standard dacs? I'm not sure which brand I should move on to at this point. I couldn't do this on my current phone (Samsung J3). I don't know how to check if this is possible on different phones. Can anyone point me to where I can find out this information please? | How to fix soft-bricked device? Posted: 07 Apr 2021 05:28 AM PDT So a little while ago now I decided I was going to try to root an old phone I had lying around, but not having any experience with rooting I was following multiple tutorials. At first, I was going to use a third-party app like kingoroot but was told that it was a bad idea and I could root the device without it. I got to the point of flashing my own recovery image (TWRP if I remember correctly). However, after following what I believe to be a bad tutorial, I have managed to render the phone unbootable. I think I messed with the partition sizes and as a result, cannot reflash until I fix them. It's been a while since I tried to do anything but I've decided to try to fix it now, I currently can only access the fastboot screen and all boot options fail. | Cant access play store on Samsung galaxy s7 edge Posted: 07 Apr 2021 11:11 AM PDT I have the latest android update.When I press on play store google says; verify your identity, you were logged out from google account, log in again to continue. I then press Next and come to the login page, and my old email is there but that account is no longer working as I deleted it. So when I press on the box nothing happens, so im not able to change the email, the corners of the box just turn blue but not keyboard comes up that allows me to type in a new email and delete the old one. | Screen Dead. Can I operate my device through Windows 10? Posted: 07 Apr 2021 10:31 AM PDT My Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra's screen completely stopped working. I think the phone is still functional since haptic feedback still seems to behave appropriately. I now have a replacement phone of the same model. I know that I can access the storage of my broken phone just by plugging it into my PC, but I was wondering if I can do something to operate the broken phone on the PC as if it is the phone. I know that Windows 10 has their phone companion that allows you to make calls through a BT connected phone, but I haven't seen where I can flip through the home screens, etc. through that interface. | Unable to automatically connect to my wifi Posted: 07 Apr 2021 10:16 AM PDT ROG phone 3 I got it a week ago but whenever I turn WiFi off to leave the house and back on when I return it won't connect automatically. I have to turn on the Airplane mode toggle but only in the Internet and network settings as it won't work on the drop down toggle. If I don't do this it just says 'Internet connection, No Internet'. Any ideas why it's only working through that and not as soon as I've turned WiFi back on? Hopefully it's an android setting I'm missing and not the phone itself. [link] [comments] |

But I have this weird issue where Gmail isn't using my phones default notification vibrate setting. Basically I have it set to a single buzz but Gmail alerts me with two slow buzzes for some reason. | Phone Companion App and giving it permanent permission to screen cast from the phone Posted: 07 Apr 2021 08:28 AM PDT The meat of my question is in the title but I thought it would be nice to be able to use certain apps from my computer, especially when my phone is in another room. However, having to give permission for android to screen cast to my PC kind of makes it less worthwhile, I suppose, if I have to walk over to my phone, unlock it and grant permission.
