    Should I get a Mi Box S?

    I have an LG CX with no DTS support. I need a media player just for remux that can handle 4k / hdr / dts. I currently use the TVs built in player with an external hdd hooked up to it. I don't care about streaming, as the TV handles that pretty well. I also don't plan on using Plex. Just direct hdd hook up.

    Is the Mi Box S enough to get the most out of my files?

    I have this setup:

    Chromecast with Google TV --> Philips Hue HDMI sync box --> Philips 32PHS5505/12

    When watching tv on the cromecast the tv randomly turns off then on again.

    Do anyone know whats causing this problem?

    PHILIPS television automatically restarts, freezes, etc.

    I have a Philips Android TV (Google TV skin not applied) on Pie (9) and it has been factory reset over 2 times, have contacted PHILIPS, no luck, should i call Google? It just keeps restarting on its own and people are freaking out. We're about to just get a new TV if this doesn't stop.

    Youtube app keeps showing "back to top" on the home screen

    Like the title said, since a few weeks the youtube app on my Sony XH90 keeps showing an empty homepage, with just the back to top button (which doesn't do anything).

    I've tried clearing cache/data as well as rolling back updates and reinstalling them.

    Nothing seems to work and I can find very little on Google. Do you guys have any idea what causes this issue?

    To be clear, clearing the cache and force stopping the app works sometimes, but not 100% of the time. Besides it being a relatively intensive workaround.

    A new update for the YouTube app is rolling out but it will take a few days to arrive to everybody, here's to hope they finally fixed the issue with VP9 live streams turning into the below screenshot, otherwise, let's keep sending reports to the youtube.com/tv/feedback website

    Hello

    I have an Android TV (local Singapore brand: PRISM+), and the only way I have managed to control sound coming out of external speakers (Edifier S350DB), connected to the TV is via Bluetooth. Using optical cable doesn't work, as in that case, the sound comes out of the TV speaker as well as the external speakers, and I need to mute the TV to only hear sound through the external speakers. The TV has an HDMI arc port. Is there a way I can use that, to connect my speakers so that my TV remote will work?

    Apps and sound stop working every week?

    Hey everyone, im hoping someone here has a solution to my problem.

    I have a Sony Bravia Smart TV (an x900h i think?), with a Soundbar connected via HDMI eARC, and once a week, my apps and tv system sounds stop working. Youtube is stuck on the first frame of every video i try, the other apps take a long time to load and have no sound, and the beeps boops of the UI are suddenly gone. This happens both with and without the sound bar. Using a game console however, the sounds work. It just seems to be the TV's system and apps.

    I factory reset the tv and that resolved it, but the problem happens periodically. I dont want to have to go through thirty minutes of setup every week.

    All devices are up to date, and no changes are made to settings that might provoke this to happen.

    Any idea whats going on and how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

    Google tv remote no longer works to control TV volume

    For the last 3 days my Google tv remote that came with my chromecast doe not control my volume. But my roommates remote control his. Mine is on the latest update. Any suggestions?

    How can I control the sound bar's volume with the TV remote?

    Hello everyone! I have a JVC with Android TV and I use a LG SoundBar via optical cable. Unfortunately, the remote of my soundbar broke and I wanted to control the soundbar's volume with the TV remote.

    Doing some tests, I discover that I can control the soundbar volume if I connect to the TV via Bluetooth. Can I do the same using an optical cable? Thanks!

    Screen Saver stopped working

    Hi. I have a TCL Android TV and the basic screen saver has just stopped working out of nowhere. I don't have anything custom installed, just the basic pictures screen saver.

    I tried changing to the only other option (colors) and that one seems to work, but the other one doesn't even start when I manually activate it from settings. Also tried deactivating, restarting, changing it back... nothing.

    I've looked through the sub and only found an unresolved post about this from 2 years ago.

    Anyone knows a fix for this?

    Android TV randomly turns itself on

    So I have a CHiQ (ChangHong) Android TV and a few times a week it'll just turn itself on. There's no pattern to when it'll happen, it seems totally random.

    Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Keyboard and mouse with Android TV

    I bought a wireless keyboard and mouse for my Mi Box S. Everything works fine but the mouse. When I want to right click with the mouse it does what the back button on the regular remote. I want to play some but I can't like this. So I've found an app called Button Mapper. With it's pro version I can remap the back button to a custom key (right click in my case). And configure the app to only remap it when I play games. So my question is, is there any better solutions for my problem?

    Mi box S, tv and home theater system

    So currently I have mi box s connected to tv via hdmi. My tv have CEC hdmi. One thing I noticed in netflix, I can't choose 5.1 audio unless I choose spdif in mi box s.

    Now, I'm planning to get home theater system sony ht rt3. It have analog in, hdmi out, and tv in.

    My question is, can I get the 5.1 effect if I connect my tv through hdmi to this new sony home theater system?

    Hope my description is clear enough. I'm really new at this

    Edit: my tv has dolby digital + compatible, but the home theater only have dolby digital (without +)

    Google TV with Chromecast CoDec Support and such

    Hello! I've been creating a Google Doc of all necessary CoDec's and Containers for x streaming device.. only the popular ones. Do we know what Container, Video and Audio Codecs is this supported? I'm sure I'm missing others...

    I looked online and got: But they've been on Forums and such:
    Container: MP2T, MP3, MP4, OGG, WAV, WebM
    Video CoDec: MPEG2, H.264, H.265 (HEVC), VC-1 (Unsupported or?)
    Audio CoDec: AC3, AAC 5.1, DD/DD+, DTS, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD MA, Passthrough: ATMOS

    Which Android TV I should buy?

    I am looking for TvBox with the least configuration to get full apps and full playstore working. I heard the MiBox S is tricky to get full apps working.

    This is my current setup, it's old so I want to upgrade. Basically, Nova launcher + Full apps. Any suggestions, please?
