Checking resolution/streaming quality in Prime Video app

Prime video app for android TV doesn't show resolution when a title is playing, like it does on the web browser. Is there any way to know this? (remote shortcut or something?)

    Tune to channel with assistant?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2021 08:02 AM PDT

    x-posting from r/Chromecast

Does anyone know if there is a way to watch a specific OTA channel via a voice command or routine?

I have an HDHomeRun Quad tuner hooked up to my antenna and due to my proximity to a major city I actually get 40+ broadcast channels. I have the HDHomeRun app installed on the Chromecast and it even supports the Google TV's Live Channels app. I don't really care what app it plays through I just want to create a routine that turns on the TV/Receiver and switch to the Chromecast with Google TV (that I can already do because of my Logitech Harmony Hub) then start playing channel 56.2. At this time I can get to the Chromecast home screen.

I can seem to figure out if it's possible or what the syntax would be to do it though Google Assistant.

    Posted: 22 Mar 2021 06:54 AM PDT

I am trying to figure out what could be the problem.

I am getting "pixelated" effect when there is a white/bright area and can't figure out what setting to enable/disable on tv or mi box.

    as you can see top left sky ( it's a 4k video ) - https://ibb.co/tQpwXpg

If I play the same video directly on TV everything looks fine

Force mono audio on Mi TV Stick

    Posted: 22 Mar 2021 05:35 AM PDT

    Hi,

I have an old TV with Mi TV Stick plugged in to it. I got a used stereo amp and speakers recently but one of the speakers is actually faulty so I can only use the other one. The problem is that it only plays one stereo channel so I can't enjoy music or movies or whatever fully. Is there any way to force the stick to output mono sound?

    TV not connecting to Internet

    Posted: 22 Mar 2021 12:20 AM PDT

I have an Android Google TV with Chromecast built in - Philips model 65PFL5504/F7. I believe it's Android Pie if that's version 9.0? Yesterday, it suddenly stopped seeing the Internet. That was preceded by a short power outage, but not sure if related. It successfully connects via WiFi, but no connection out to the Internet, including the wired Ethernet connection. It says "You are connected to a WiFi network that does not have access to the Internet" in the notification that comes up when turning the TV on. Looking at the actual connection it shows "connected, no Internet". There is definitely Internet. I have an Amazon Fire box on one input and satellite service on another input which uses WiFi to communicate to the main receiver connected to another TV. Both of these have no problem seeing and using the Internet connection. Plus all our other devices are having no trouble seeing and connecting to the Internet - laptops, tablets, phones.

I have removed (forget) the connection and set it up again several times, restart the TV from the settings, hard reset unplugging the TV, Yesterday, it went back to normal at some point in all my attempts but it didn't really feel like it was something I had done because I had done the same thing multiple times but maybe in different sequences. It just seem to start working again on it's own. Today when we turned the TV on, it was back to the same issue. I think I tinkered with it for about 4 hours and unlike yesterday, it's still not working. Same notification, same status and of course any apps that use the Internet which is most of them, are also not working since it can't find an active Internet connection although there really is one that the TV suddenly can't see!

Anyone ever have this problem and know how to fix it? I've run out of ideas. I even logged into the modem/router and confirmed that the TV is indeed connecting and has an IP assignment.

Thanks for any ideas anyone has!
