| Usb C to 3.5mm aux jack with headphones plugged in works for media but not for calls. Posted: 27 Mar 2021 04:42 AM PDT I bought an adapter to be able to use a pair of headphones on my Galaxy S9 cause I broke the headphone port on the phone. Problem is that it will only output to the headphones if the app is considered a media audio stream. If I use anything that uses in call volume it will play out of the phone speaker. Does anybody know if there's a work around for this. An app that forces everything to one media stream, or like alternative apps for the phone app that default to the media stream. I don't know why one works and the other doesn't. [link] [comments] |

| Best phone under 250$ with good camera and plenty of storage Posted: 27 Mar 2021 12:04 PM PDT Hello. I am looking to change my phone, a Huawei P9 Lite. On this I have only 16 Gbs of storage and it's not enough for me and can't move apps to a SDCard. Also I like to take photos, thought the P9 Lite take acceptable photos during the day, at night they are not as good. So I am looking for a phone with a good camera and as much storage as possible under 250$. I don't really need a lot of performance, as I don't play games or use any other very intensive applications. I saw some reviews and I found these models: Xiaomi Note 9 Pro, Motorola G9 Plus and Xiaomi Note 10 I was also looking at the Huawei P40 Lite, but I can't find in Huawei's appstore some apps that I need ( MS Teams, Photomath, MS Lens and others ). So what would be a good choice in this price range with a good camera and plenty of storage? Also, I saw from reviews some bad things about MIUI's bloatware, is it really that bad? Thanks! | Pixel 2xl, how to switch google assistant search to firefox? Posted: 27 Mar 2021 11:52 AM PDT I have set my default browser to firefox, and the searches formerly opened on firefox, but I can't find where to change the setting back. When android web viewer was bugged I thought it was my phone and reset cache/data in a few google apps. I'm sure it's a dumb question that I've overlooked but I'm stuck. Any help is appreciated! | Can I recover permanently deleted files? Posted: 27 Mar 2021 10:17 AM PDT I've deleted some photos and videos about 2 months ago, from my device and the trash can. I've tried many apps but I can't seem to find them and I haven't backed up them anywhere. Is there any way I can still recover them? [link] [comments] |

| What's the popular budget phone? Posted: 26 Mar 2021 11:12 PM PDT So I have a nokia 2 right now, it's battery bulging and lag between pressing keyboard and it popping up. I'm looking to upgrade for the long term, at least 3 years, hoping for 7. This is for day-to-day use, no heavy gaming, or high-end photos. Music playback, videos, texting. Maximum budget before taxes/shipping-$260 When-I plan to buy in the fall, so unreleased phones are fine as long as they will be released by then and specs are known. Features I Need- Storage-at least 16gb, willing to spend a little more for more. SD card would be nice but not a hard requirement. Processor-not for gaming, but I want simple productivity apps to open quick, without a few seconds delay. It shouldn't be the bottleneck for 1080p 30fps video. Ram-more than 1gb Network-more than gsm, needs to work in US and Japan. I know I'll have to switch sim card/carrier. Display-720p, preferably strong glass but not required. Nothing else, I don't need money into hertz or great colors. Just work in normal sunlight, I don't have high expectations, as a $60 phone has worked in indirect sunlight well. Camera-Main camera better than 8MP, needs to be better than nokia 2's. Nothing insane but I'm tired of having to say I can't take a pic for someone because my camera is trash. Selfie camera-doesn't matter, I can just turn the phone around and use the main camera. Sound-speaker can be trash. Comms-Stable bluetooth for music playback, nothing else needed. Wifi can be basic, equal to nokia. GPS can be most basic a-gps. Battery-Preferably at least 2000 mAh, I'm not too worried, as long as it can be idle for 12hrs, and the processor not use more than 1%/min when I'm doing something like geometry dash. Although I have appreciated nokia 2's 4100mAh battery a lot. As long as it's fully charging in 6 hours, I don't care what it's doing back there. Form Factor/Color-5.6" has been prefect for me, but at this price point, I'm fine with anything under 7.5", and more than 4.5" length. Color can be any as I'm using a case, just preferably not a phone that only comes in bright warm colors. Extra Features that I want, but don't need- Fingerprint sensor-just makes the whole process of checking something quicker, and I've wanted it since it became mainstream Color LED for notifications-I don't think new phones have it, but the ZTE Maven had it, and it was useful. Sensors-proximity and compass Extra Info- 4G. I like the look of stock android UI compared to samsung's, but if there's much more value in a samsung, then I'll take it. I'm primarily moving the value of a great battery on the nokia 2 to a better processor and camera. I don't need/want the budget to be pushed to it's limit, something lower is fine as I have low expectations from my past $60 and $70 phone. I understand there is a chip shortage, so I want the msrp instead of current cost, as I anticipate the shortage to not be as bad in fall, when I buy it. I'm moving from my current nokia 2 because the battery expanded, and the cost to replace is as high as the price of the phone. "This phone is competing with my microwave, it's always overheating" -anon. If I could just double everything from the nokia 2 by buying it twice, I would, but that aint how it works sadly. tldr; I want a phone where the battery wont expand from charging after 3 years of playing subway surfer 15 minutes a day, that can bring up the keyboard in <1s after I click the search bar, and camera that's >8MP. | Changing Lg stylo 6 app icons?? Posted: 27 Mar 2021 09:42 AM PDT I had an old stylo (3?) Until just today. I only had to hold the icon and let it go and I could change it to any image in my gallery. But I can't do that on the 6 and the icon packs don't work either. I'd prefer to use my own images, is there no way to do this now? [link] [comments] |
| What do you do with an Android phone that is no longer getting any updates? Posted: 27 Mar 2021 05:22 AM PDT I'd like to buy a fairly cheap android phone, around 200$ or less, but I know they won't be supported for very long, but updates (or at least security updates) are very important to me, what can I do about this other than throwing away a device that is perfectly fine, because it is vulnerable and therefore unusable? Thanks [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 27 Mar 2021 09:07 AM PDT I put my phone to Do Not Disturb at night when I go to sleep but I have it set to allow repeat callers. Recently I noticed that repeat callers are still not ringing through. I checked all my sound settings but it's still not working. Anyone have any ideas on how to correct this? [link] [comments] |
| What does the Android ecosystem include nowadays and what am I missing out on? Posted: 26 Mar 2021 08:53 PM PDT I feel like I'm out of the loop when it comes to ecosystems nowadays. I've only ever just owned a phone, never really got all the other devices and I don't even know what is out there at this point. So could someone help me out and tell me what is included in this ecosystem nowadays, what use they provide and who would benefit from them? If it is at all relevant, I currently use a OnePlus 6T. I'll replace it eventually, probably with whatever the latest OnePlus is at that time since I am very comfortable with OxygenOS and don't think (?) I use my phone in any way that requires me thinking too hard about it. Thanks in advance for the information! [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 27 Mar 2021 08:42 AM PDT Tittle says the main problem. I'm on a galaxy s10, I've had it little over a year and everything I can think of is up to date. My wifi is slow (12mbs) but my data is fine and I've tired using both, so i know for a fact it's not the internet connection. I have like 80 GBs of storage so not that either. I've cleared app cache and all that stuff for like every google app that could possibly be involved and down the "reinstall updates" fix or whatever. Nothings worked. The worst part about this is, (what really confuses me) I used this phone for a year just fine. Then all of a sudden this started happening, i tried everything for like 3 hours until I decided to factory reset my phone, it's about a month later and it's happening again -_-. That fact that I can reset the entire phone and it still happens makes me really really pissed off. I've used android all my life and this is the first time this has ever happened. I hope you can see my frustration, I literally can't download anything. Anyone ever had this happen? Any questions you ask I'll answer. And no I won't buy an iPhone. [link] [comments] |
| Chrome issue with concent on certain sites Posted: 27 Mar 2021 08:12 AM PDT Hi, Chrome has started this issue when ever I go to certain sites a small pop-up window talking about "Site asks for your consent to use your personal data to:" But when I try to click on continue to site it doesn't do anything pop-up just stays there, I've tried refreshing site, clearing the cache/data to even uninstalling all updates and starting fresh but pop-up window still comes up. | Posted: 27 Mar 2021 08:06 AM PDT LG Journey on T-Mobile, the other day I had an alarm go off and it was nearly silent, I checked all the various volume-sliders in Settings and they were all max'd out, also if I called my phone the ringer was very muted (can only hear it from several feet away) Figured my speaker must've been broken/damaged, but then went to listen to something via the headphone jack to test it (I never use the jack, first attempt here) and found it was also working, but very very muted, could barely hear the headphones which is different than the phone's speaker, leading me to conclude it's the phone's software and not a hardware issue (because the speaker, and the headphone jack, both having same type of issue at same time is very improbable) All I've tried is powering-off / restarting the phone (doing a hard-reset kills all my data right? I can't lose my contact-log or SMS log, and am not currently backed-up as I disabled most google apps when I first got the handset) Don't know what else to try but can't help think it's gotta be software and thereby fixable through some type of re-setting! Thanks for any advice, would hate to have to go buy a new unit & swap all my info over because of this but if I can't hear my calls, or use it as an alarm, then I have to :/ [link] [comments] |
| Google services on chinese version phone with Android 11 Posted: 27 Mar 2021 07:48 AM PDT First. My phone is redmi K30 5g. Chinese version. It comes without Google apps. | Posted: 27 Mar 2021 07:41 AM PDT Hello there, thank you very much for taking the time to read my post. I read the FAQ but have not found anything specific - sorry if I overlooked something. Feel free to delete if so. I have been overseas for 6 months now and when I returned I noticed that I forgot the pattern to unlock my tablet which has valuable data on it. The account of my wife is still accessible, but mine isn't. Its a Tab S6 without Find My Mobile or Google connected to it. Is there any way to rescue my data by my own? Or to access the Tablet by any chance with a lock removal tool? I have downloaded over 10 tools (and maybe some malware with it) but none of them worked without trying to wipe the data. I mean, forensic scientists or police do it all the time - it has to be possible somehow? There is a service I could hire for over 300$ so there again, It is possible. But 300$ would be my last resort. Maybe someone here can help my desperate ass. Thank you very much and stay healthy. [link] [comments] |
| Gamepad won't connect to my Realme 5i device Posted: 27 Mar 2021 07:31 AM PDT I have a dual shock 3 gamepad (not original) which does not connect to my gamepad through OTG. The gamepad doesn't have any Bluetooth so I can't connect it wirelessly. When I turn the OTG option on in the settings, the controller starts vibrating but doesn't work. I have an old LG tablet and the controller works on it. My device is not rooted and I don't want to root it. [link] [comments] |
| Looking to buy an Aura Blue S20+ - What's considered a good price? Posted: 27 Mar 2021 07:26 AM PDT I'm currently looking for an Aura Blue S20+ to replace my S9+ and it seems on eBay they're $560 - $600 for a used/refurb'd and $670 - $800 for a pristine/clean example. I've also checked other sites and this seems to be the ballpark. How much is too much? I'd like to spend less than $700 for a like-new example, but I feel the rarity of the color seems to impact the price. Should I bite the bullet and spend a little over $700 for a phone that came out a year ago, or do I take the risk with a used/refurb'd model? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 27 Mar 2021 03:35 AM PDT For about a day I haven't been able to connect. I can connect to data but I live in the middle of no where so its really bad. It started when it randomly shut off at like 10 percent. It wouldn't turn back on so I charged it and now I can't connect. I've restarted the router and modem, Pressed forget wifi and logged back in, gone into developer settings and done whatever you can do in there, and I still cannot connect. Everything else connects fine so I don't know what happened. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 26 Mar 2021 03:05 PM PDT I feel this is just more of a ploy to get the user to turn web and app activity on, as before a recent update this was never a problem. Not to mention, Maps always has my location shown as a blue dot on the screen, so why shouldn't it just use my location when I hit directions to a place? Just another annoying developer tweak to manipulate behavior of the end user. Is there any way around this? Or has Google succeeded in forcing me to turn on web and app activity? [link] [comments] |
