    I have a Samsung galaxy s9. I always listen to podcasts on the Castbox app. As of this morning, I can't play new episodes of podcasts I'm subscribed to or any episodes of podcasts I'm not already subscribed to. I can play an episode of a podcast I'm subscribed to from a year ago that I hadn't listened to previously, but I can't play the new episode uploaded today of the same show. Any new podcasts I look up won't play any episodes. So I tried the Google podcast app, no episodes of any show will play. I downloaded Stitcher, no episodes will play. I downloaded 2 other podcast apps and they won't play any episodes either. What is happening?!

    Android upgrading to a new phone - the individual settings in the app does not move with it.....

    Hi,

    Is it possible to upgrade to a new android phone with all the application settings too?

    For example, I have a banking app in the old phone, will the userid/password/settings like dark mode in the app get moved to the new phone?

    Because currently, they do not get moved.

    And my layout, I have re-arrange it again.

    I have 300+ apps......

    Auto rotation bug - possible app/tablet conflict.

    I'm part of a moderate sized organisation. We run an app on android (10) tablets to remotely transmit information.

    Despite having auto-rotate turned off, in some instances especially if the tablet is lying flat or tilted downwards the screen will quickly rotate 180 deg then rotate back after each button press. Previous tablets we used did not have the issue - they were running android 7.

    The app has a rotate 180 deg option, which is turned off, but it has no effect on the issue either way. The app is set as a home app (is that the right term?) so it is always open, and the tablets are not used for any other purpose.

    The tablets are Lenovo TB-850 5F.

    I am aware that the answer may be that it is a bug in the app, or that there is some highly technical conflict between the app and the tablet or with android 10, but perhaps there is a simple solution. If for example rotation can be disabled in some more forceful way? (we don't want the screen to ever rotate) Can an app be disallowed from rotating the screen? Other ideas?

    Messages app pops up in the middle of the screen (after 2-factor authentication etc.) and I can't make it go away

    Rooting LENOVO A7000-A

    I wanted to root this phone i have (and ive looked it up on internet and FAQ here) but i cant really do it because:

    The recommended apps for it (Kingoroot etc) doesnt even get downloaded (Yeah i have 'that' settings ON)

    I thought this was a one time process. Its confusing me since there are some monthly paid stuff. Isnt this just a thing that lets you have the full access of your phone? wth is this even..

    This phone has 8gb of internal space but in reality it lets you use 3,5 of it not to mention with all those unnecessary stuff you have 500mb to 1gb left at most. Cant put stuff on SD card either cuz 'reasons'.

    Do I really need a 900$ phone to have a pleasant experience?

    I have a Samsung s10e. Bought it for some 650$ when it was new. It's the Exynos version.

    This phone is amazing in many ways but constantly makes me question my choice.

    • it heats up randomly, independently of what I'm doing on the phone
    • it lags randomly, especially in the system UI

    I also got an iPhone 11 Pro from work. The phone never lags and is always stone cold.

    Is this an Android vs iPhone issue or a 650$ phone vs a 900$ phone issue? Would I get the same experience I get with the iPhone if I bought a 900$ Samsung?

    Do I need to pay 900$ to get a lag-free and heat-free experience with heavy usage? I literally use both phones for the same thing - lots of internet browsing, watching movies in 4K, lots of apps in the background, many messaging apps, heavy multitasking.

    I don't want to use the iPhone as my main device but... if it's more pleasant to use then maybe I can live without those few extra things modern Android still lets me do. But I'm kinda scared to invest that much money into Android if it's going to disappoint anyway.

    I know there is the Pixel but that kinda feels like an iPhone already. With all the extra features from other manufacturers missing.

    but the numbers is just different also my phone frimware is broken and I couldn't find it's frimware

    if not can I switch to linux and how?

    Samsung A31 Microphone Weirdness

    I have a Samsung Galaxy A31 that started having microphone issues out of the blue today.

    Long story short, the microphone only works right when recording video in the camera app. For everything else, it's super, super quiet - for instance, Google Assistant only hears me if I literally yell right into the mic, and nobody can hear me during a phone call.

    I made sure everything was up to date, software and apps, which didn't fix the issue. The only other thing I know to do with phones is factory reset. Which I did. It didn't fix the issue.

    Is there anything else I can try?

    Long term differences between Samsung Exynos vs Snapdragon variants

    What's the long term implications (updates and support from Samsung) between snapdragon vs Exynos devices, apart from cpu performance what other differences are between, for example, a Galaxy S21 with an Exynos CPU vs a Galaxy S21 with a Snapdragon CPU? Does one offer more future community ROM support for the future?

    Why does the pixel 5 seem faster than my Note 20?

    I've had the Note 20 since launch and just bought a Pixel 5 because it was easier to pocket and the camera is awesome. One thing I didn't expect is the pixel to be faster in just about every way. App loading, wifi is faster, bluetooth seems more reliable, web loads faster. Is it a software thing?

    Erasing a Note10+ with completely dead screen

    Hey there, I need to wipe a note 10+ with a dead screen (literally can't see anything on it, touchscreen still works, but no display.) I need a way to wipe the contents before I send it back to my carrier once I get my replacement. I did manage to take my screen lock off before the screen died all the way (only the bottom half was dead for the first few hours).

    How to revert Lock Screen changes after update?

    When I did the recent update on my Samsung Galaxy, my PIN input screen changed so the number buttons are way bigger and take up the whole screen. I would like to revert to the previous style where the buttons were smaller and only take up the bottom half of the screen. It felt much more secure and harder for an observer to watch me put in the PIN. Thanks in advance!

    Google pixel 4a wifi, alarm and Screensharing problem on stock android

    I bought a pixel 4a recently. This is my first google cell phone ever. After 3 months of use I have noticed 2 problems that occur, not often but when they do occur it is very frustrating.

    1. WiFi problem, I noticed most with whatsup app, when I don't use my mobile phone, I don't get a message, only when I turn on my mobile phone and open the application, it connects to the internet for a few seconds and I get messages that should have come much earlier.
    2. Alarm - I set a weekly alarm and I noticed that from 7 days, it does not ring 2 times. It just doesn't activate.
    3. this is extra problem and i cant belive google didnt make screen sharing work on all TV. I have LG TV, and i cant connect to it, while my mother phone witch cost 50 euro can. Is this android issue or google want to work only on chromecast?

    S8 unable to delete event in calendar

    i have an S8 and recently when checking my calendar i realized i couldn't delete certain events, they were marked as forever. my google email was tied to these events so i went to my computer and tried to delete it but it didn't work, i know this isn't a lot to work with but i don't know what to do

    Android 11 Tablet?

    I need an tablet that runs Android 11 for work, as the tablet we currently have does not have built in screen recording (I know there are 3rd party apps, we want it built in).

    I can't seem to figure out which tablets will support Android 11, and would appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction.

    Help me determine the cause of a Pixel 3A XL screen issue

    So I have a Pixel 3a XL. Recently, I began to notice more that at the bottom right area of the screen, there's this strange issue. It often feels like it's pressing against something on the inside of the device. You can feel it touch the inside and hear it un-sticking, kinda like pressing something together that sticks for a second before un-sticking. It's very hard to describe but it's noticeable. The screen doesn't feel loose and the device works fully, it's just an odd thing that mildly concerns me.

    I tried to contact Google but they really didn't have a clue what I was on about. What could this be? Should I be concerned? I will be getting a new device in a year as the security updates end around then so I could do with it lasting that long.

    The bootloader of my Mi Max Helium is locked and I'm stuck using with MIUI 7.5.6.0 .

    My friend got interested in flashing Custom ROMs and flashed MIUI 7.5.6.0. Because he wanted to remove TWRP he flashed the Official Recovery that he found and locked his device's bootloader. He then flashed the Official Mi Max recovery. Now he's stuck with MIUI 7.5.6.0 and since his bootloader is locked is not able to flash TWRP. To unlock the bootloader the OEM needs to be unlocked but in the version that he has there is no option to unlock it.

    Android devices get near Zero upload speed while other devices get expected speed ...

    I am hoping someone could help me with a rather strange issue with my Android devices.

    I have a 20mb down and 10mb up line, my fibre is connected to a TP-Link wifi router.

    Using Speetest, on my Windows 10 machine, I get ~19mb down and ~10mb up using the wifi.

    I get about the same when I connect directly to the router using a cable.

    My wife's iPhone+iPads also get ~20mb down and ~10mb up, (on the wifi).

    But my android phone, (Samsung S7, LineageOS 17.1, Android 10), I get ~19mb down but only 0.20mb up.

    My Android TV, (MiBox), is connected directly into the router via cable... I also get ~19mb down and ~0.10mb and if I use the built in Wifi, I get similar results.

    So, it looks like there might be an issue with the Android devices, I have 2.4GHz and 5GHz, but it does not matter, the upload is terrible in both cases.

    What could be the issue with my Android devices and/or router setup?
