Oukitel WP5 Pro doesn't show lock screen notifications Posted: 09 Mar 2021 01:03 PM PST Hello, I would need your help guys. I just bought a new phone (Oukitel WP5 Pro). Everything was fine, I could finish the setup quite fast, but I just cannot make it show any kind of notifications on the lock screen, even if I change the lock to "swipe". I hear the notification sound, then I have to unlock the phone to see what it was. -reinstalled Messenger -did a factory reset -turned on all notifications, for the app and inside the app (after each new message after locking the phone, it automatically turns off "display lock screen notification details" -tried using Niagara launcher I did not see any battery saving/optimalization option being used on my apps. So if you have any idea what can be the cause of this, I would really appreciate some advice. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Battery troubleshooting: taking hours to charge, draining while plugged in Posted: 09 Mar 2021 12:52 PM PST Hello, I have an Asus Zentab 10 Z500m (P027), Asus stock Android 7. Horrible OS version but that's another thread! My battery has been weird lately, draining faster than normal and draining while plugged in if in use, even with usage dialed back and screen dimmed. I suspect the battery may have had it, but with whatever Asus did to their flavor of Android, I can't use tools like Accubattery to check the health. So instead I've been following some instructions to drain, charge, drain again and hope it helps. First, are those steps even valid? I have nothing to lose so I'm trying it, but to what end, I don't know. Second, is there some other way to test and verify that the battery is at fault and not something else? I have factory reset the device, wiped and formatted SD card for good measure and followed the first of the steps pasted below. I've switched power sources, usb cables and power adapters. It's been powered off and charging for 13 hours today and the battery is at about 75%. Any advice at all is greatly appreciated. The steps I was attempting to follow:

Stop phone from waking up when I unplug it Posted: 09 Mar 2021 12:15 PM PST Is there a setting or something to stop my phone from waking up when I unplug it from charging? I samsung s8+ I believe it's still on Android 9 or whatever the highest updates the s8 has. If it doesn't have a setting for that is there an app that'll keep it from waking up when I unplug it? Posted: 09 Mar 2021 11:59 AM PST My girlfriend recently got a Galaxy A12 and while installing apps she noticed that it had already installed Tiktok that has a grey logo and background. We checked the playstore and in the saved data for apps but it didn't show up in either and it can't be deleted. Does anyone know what it is or anyway to delete the app/data. Thanks. Phone disconnects from cellular while on wifi and I have to manually reconnect to cellular Posted: 09 Mar 2021 11:12 AM PST This just started happening last week, never experienced this problem before. Phone is a Galaxy Note8 on Pie and carrier is T-Mobile. I haven't made any major changes or installations recently. When I turn on wifi and turn it off I don't reconnect to cellular. I used to always be connected as I have the "switch to mobile data" setting on in wifi to use cellular if the wifi is slow. Every time I need to connect back to cellular I have to go in the connection settings > mobile networks > network operators > select automatically, and then it instantly gets my cellular connection back. The default setup is set to automatic so I don't know why it makes me do it manually. I don't know if this could be related but shortly after this started happening there are lots of AT&T trucks around my city, not sure what they're doing but it's been a few days of them going around to different places. Posted: 09 Mar 2021 11:04 AM PST This is a stupid question but does the samsung galaxy a10e have samsung kids mode? My dad's old phone(the samsung galaxy j7 crown) broke and we need to get him a cheap new phone. My son loves Samsung kids mode and loves to play on it on my dad's phone(he's very close to his papa). I'm finding nothing anywhere bout it having samsung kids mode and we'd love to know before we get the new phone 😅🤣 incase it's relevant we are on straight talk. [link] [comments] |
My xperia clock sometimes stops Posted: 09 Mar 2021 10:04 AM PST Hi I noticed that sometimes the time displayed on the top right is not the "on time". It can be few minutes but sometimes it stays the same for hours. And then it randomly resets to the real time (compares to my wristwatch) I also noticed that sometimes the clock displayed on my background is also not on time .... Even worse, they can be both giving me wrong time, but different ones ! Any clue on what is causing this ? Of course, reboot the device 'solves' it on the instant, but it's annoying and I never really know if it's working or not. [link] [comments] |
Android/ App. Sound through earpiece speaker Posted: 09 Mar 2021 01:09 AM PST Hey guys. do know if there is an app or if it is possible to create an app, that is making it possible to use your phones earspeaker as mainspeaker so when you want to listen to a podcast without your headphones, your able to hold it like you're calling [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Mar 2021 09:30 AM PST Hey, I found a Huawei phone on a bus station. I tried to get in contact with the owner with no success and now it has been collecting dust on my desk for months. Is there any way I could bypass the FRP lock? I have tried multiple videos and none of them worked... Any Ideas? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Mar 2021 08:54 AM PST Hi, so I have a poco F1 running Android 10 with miui 12, about a week ago, my phone started behaving pretty weirdly, battery not charging the way it used to (like it took more time than usual), battery draining a bit faster YouTube pauses automatically Today I was waking up google assistant by saying hey google and there was a prompt that said google keeps crashing, resulting in it apparently not working Today, I visited the deep nostalgia on chrome, and it blocked me from entering thinking i was a bot or a number of bots, when we only have about 12 devices at home connected to the home network (which is private), I was confused and I drew a conclusion that my phone has a sort of adware/malware/ransomware I noticed someone downloaded this faceapp pro modded app from an unknown, rather shady website, I'm thinking it was probably my little cousin, I have run a few security scans from the phone's built in security app and avast, both said my phone was not infected, altho I installed avast after the issues started appearing My choice was to reset my phone completely, not just factory reset but wipe out everything except the os to just maybe clean this infiltration I found an option in the settings which would erase all my data but I'm not so confident about it Also, to the Xiaomi users, is there any way I can install the previous miui 11 since it was much better and faster for my phone than this Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Mar 2021 08:51 AM PST First off, details: I'm on an unrooted LG V60 on T-mobile. I'm still on Android 10. Last night I was testing various files on my device, copying them from a network share using Solid Explorer pro version. The files ranged from 700MB up to 2GB+ and I had around 3-4GB free if I can recall. After deleting one of the files I tried to copy another one over that was around 2GB and it failed due to lack of space. I then looked at the free space on the card in Solid and it said I only had around 100mb. I looked all over the card thinking I somehow moved the file instead of deleting it, but no luck. I then popped into the DiskUsage app and saw tha the SD card now shows 3.93GB of "System Data". Given that this is the external card and not adopted, it's not OS files. It seems to me that either when I deleted a couple of the large files, OR when I was transferring one the SD card from my PC wirelessly, something got wonky and threw the files into a "no man's land" that I cannot see or delete. I am NOT using the Trash option in Solid, but I turned it back on to see if I could see anything in the trash bin. It's empty. I don't think it works for SD card files anyway, but I could be wrong. Anyone got any advice? I've done plenty of searching and have found similar issues with no clear solution. Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Why doesn't the search widget always display apps?! Posted: 09 Mar 2021 08:38 AM PST I solely use the search widget on my Pixel to look for/open apps and on first try it 9 times out of 10 will search Google forcing me to back out and then return where it'll then search and display apps. I screen recorded to give a better example: https://imgur.com/a/cmzQvDR. At first Duo doesn't come up, but then the second time it does. It's driving me INSANE. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 09 Mar 2021 07:10 AM PST I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but a friend of mine told me reddit would be a good place to ask this type of question. So yesterday night I accidentally dropped my phone in the toilet. It worked fine for the rest of the evening but this morning it's not really working. The volume down button is stuck and the phone itself is stuck in safe mode. I have it sitting in rice right now but if anyone could tell me how to fix it that would be greatly appreciated. Device policy and samsung's secure folder Posted: 09 Mar 2021 06:28 AM PST I just joined a new company and they use Gsuite for business. They asked me to install Device Policy, with all the caveats (they can wipe the device, etc.. ) I installed in under Knox (Secure folder) in my Samsung s9. Does that mean that they can get access only to the secure part of the phone? In the main personal screen I can't see the Device Policy application installed. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Should I forego installing updates in an effort to prolong the lifetime of my phone? Posted: 09 Mar 2021 06:23 AM PST Hi all. I have a Huawei Y6 Prime 2018 running Android 8.0. I'd like to use this phone as long as possible before buying a new one. In light of that, what is the general consensus as far as installing updates? Will doing so slow down my phone each time, reducing the lifetime of the phone? If so, maybe the security issues patched by these updates trump the reduction in performance? I admittedly don't use my phone very often, but it is already on the slow side. Does this perhaps depend on manufacturer? I previously had an iPhone, and every update would result in noticeably poorer performance on my phone. But with the iPhone, those updates would sometimes be 'major' updates to the OS (e.g. update from version 6.4.8 to version 7.0.0)--none of the Android updates are 'major' updates like (i.e. they are updates from v6.4.8 to v6.5.0).
