| Any way to get Google Photos to stop asking to allow it to move photos to the trash? Posted: 21 Mar 2021 07:17 AM PDT I guess in a recent update some time in the last few months, either to Android or Google Photos, the Google Photos app now asks every time you delete something if you want to allow it to move photos to the trash. I don't get why they did this, and it's incredibly annoying when going through your library to delete photos. Is there any way to turn this off for good? | Is Malwarebytes Premium worth buying? Posted: 21 Mar 2021 06:30 AM PDT Title. I installed Malwarebytes to check for any viruses and it seems to have a good reputation, at least on Android. Am I missing out on something important if I stick with the free version? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 21 Mar 2021 11:47 AM PDT For some reason I can't seem to get Synergy to install the themes anymore. The overlays get added, the high contrast theme installs, then it uninstalls (all normal behavior), but when I go to install the actual overlayed theme synergy just errors out and says "Installation failed (1)" I cannot for the life of me figure out what's causing the issue. It worked just fine on a previous build of 3.1. Synergy, substratum, and substratum lite all have the permissions they need. Synergy is allowed to install apps. I've been trying for days now to get a theme installed and it's driving me up a wall. If anyone knows of a solution or whether or not it's a known issue that would be super helpful. I can't find anything about it on Google. | There is an internal problem with your device and it may be unstable until you factory reset Posted: 21 Mar 2021 11:43 AM PDT Phone: moto x4 ROM / Android version: default/stock rom probably? ( i am new to this ); 9.0 pie no root or any kind of modification has been done for a very long time i used my phone with very little storage remaining ( almost always had the notif and had to keep cleaning cache to get some space ), at some point that got really annoying so i decided to factory reset, after doing that my phone started to behave weirdly: certain apps just stopped working, especially google related stuff ( the pop up showed up, and sometimes it kept flashing making me not able to use my phone ), everytime that happened i rebooted it ( which fixed the issue for a little while ). upon rebooting it recently i got the following message "there is an internal problem with your device and it may be unstable until you factory reset" and since i had nothing to lose i just did it again but the message still popped up before i could even configure my phone again. one timers: before that one msg apeared i had this one upon booting "verity mode set to eio" ( or something along those lines ) written in a "recovery mode-y" style if that makes sense on that same boot before seeing the msg above i got a black screen that said "your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and may not work properly" ( both only happened once, and in succession) would appreciate some insight on what i can possible try to do. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 21 Mar 2021 10:59 AM PDT I have a friend that is in critical condition after shooting himself. He has a Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus (or Ultra, i believe it's the plus though), and there is a pattern lock. The family only wants to unlock it to better understand what might have caused this because there are things going on that were speculated but unable to be confirmed without proof. They tried going to AT&T and they said only Samsung would be able to do that for them but would most likely wipe the device if they removed the pattern lock for them, defeating the purpose. My friend is in critical condition, as i mentioned and hasn't been communicative for the last week due to this fact. If he wasn't, it would be a different story to get the answers. I'm not trying to break rules/the law, they would just like the be able to better understand the situation. If anyone has answers, it would be appreciated. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
| Extract rom from Android device with or without root Posted: 21 Mar 2021 10:56 AM PDT Hello everyone I have two identical android devices and recently one of them broke. For reference the only description of the device on Cpu-z is "t8116", and runs Android-GO 8.1.0. It boots, shows the Android-GO logo and then gets straight in recovery mode with error "Can't load android system. Your data may be corrupt" and the only options that gives are "try again"(reboot) and "factory data reset". The standard recovery mode can be opened too, luckly, which allows to "apply update from adb" and "apply update from sdcard", alongside with "wipe cache" and other options. I haven't found any info about the device or the stock device firmware online since it has no branding nor associated webpage. The only solution I came up with is to clone the firmware (which is the same) from the good device and flash it to the bad one with adb or the sdcard update option. Is there a way to clone the firmware from the good device or is it even possible to do that, and if so, can this be done without rooting the device? I tried: $ adb reboot bootloader and the devices allows fastboot: $ fastboot boot /path/to/twrp.img but the output is: creating boot image... creating boot image - 10240 bytes downloading 'boot.img'... FAILED (remote: :secure mode, fastboot limited used) the twrp image being https://dl.twrp.me/twrp/twrp-2.8.5.0-twrp.img Can anyone help me find what seems to be the problem? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 21 Mar 2021 04:41 AM PDT It's been happening since many days now. Reels on Instagram and sometimes even videos get completely pixelated and distorted, even starts flashing most of the times.(Have attached screenshot of how it looks like) It's so annoying. I have tried finding solutions, this has previously happened on OnePlus, Samsung and Pixel phones but were resolved with updates. Unfortunately, I cannot update cause I'm running a custom ROM. I'm running Pixel Experience ROM with Android 10 on it, with January 2020 security patch. Developer support is dead. The phone is Lenovo Z2 Plus. This was never an issue previously, it started happening since a few weeks now. (I'm running an Instagram mod btw, Instander but, this this issue was present on the original app as well, which is why I thought I could get rid of the issue probably, by installing a mod)https://i.imgur.com/86G3HS2.jpg [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 21 Mar 2021 10:31 AM PDT Hello, as some of my professors this semester want us to use a webcam, I've been looking for solutions for a bit. Prices for actual webcams are a joke due to high demand with people working from home, so my next idea was to use my phone. I want to use it via USB connection as I don't have wifi on my desktop PC. I've tried Iriun and IVCam so far. Iriuns image quality is way worse than IVCams, however after reading some IVCam reviews, it seems like they'll drop your quality saying "Trial version expired" after a while. I wouldn't mind paying for a full version, but it seems like IVCam has a full version for both their desktop and mobile application, would I need both here? Are there other alternatives you can recommend? I don't need audio as I'm using an external microphone and a watermark isn't that big of a deal as I use Zooms background blur filter, which, at least for IVCam, completely covered the watermark. Would appreciate any help, best regards. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 21 Mar 2021 10:17 AM PDT Hey guys, I want to buy a used samsung S6 tablet from Amazon. It's so much cheaper but I am concerned about security. I know I can factory reset my tablet once I receive it, but is there any risk of getting my identity stolen or a virus that cannot be removed by factor reset when buying a used tablet? | Microlags while using gestures in Samsung phones. Posted: 21 Mar 2021 10:04 AM PDT Hi guys i have a S21, and i have noticed some microlags while using the gestures instead of virtual buttons in these Samsung. I have compared it with my Iphone 12 and an Oneplus 8T and the only phone that face MicroLags when i close an app, open the task manager or simply navigate through the interface, is the Samsung. I must specify that this happens once each 20 times for example but it's really annoying as the experience seems not to be smooth as i expected when gestures. Have you faced the same issue? I started using virtual buttons as with them the fluidity is better. [link] [comments] |
| "Google Play services keeps stopping" during device set up Posted: 21 Mar 2021 10:04 AM PDT I've seen a lot of threads solving this issue for a devices that is already set up, but I can't find anything about how to fix this issue during an initial device set up. Backstory: I'm setting up an older Samsung Galaxy S7 for my child. It was my old phone, so I performed a factory reset through the device settings. After the reset, I entered my child's google account and when it came to the phone updating itself I keep getting the message "Google Play services keeps stopping" at the "Account added" screen. I have no way of getting to the Play store or anything since the device has not finished the full set up. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you. [link] [comments] |
| Setting up phone after remote wipe Posted: 21 Mar 2021 04:05 AM PDT So I can't access my phone's settings because of something I messed up and I wanted to know if it's possible to factory reset it with google find my device and then set it up using the same google account. I'm worried google will think there's something wrong with the phone and won't let me start fresh, since it's not really meant to be used for these situations. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 21 Mar 2021 09:52 AM PDT Good morning everyone, This is my first post here and the truth is that I am very concerned about an APK that has been downloaded without asking and consent from a web page, to my mobile I will explain myself. I was browsing the internet and the website I was on had pop-up windows that I obviously constantly remove. One of them seemed harmless to me, but when it pop-up again for the second time, Chrome asked me if I wanted to download it again. I got very worried, download something again? I have not downloaded anything and also in the download directory there wasnt anything. As I was already afraid of the worst, I began to do tests with that page that managed to download an APK on my mobile without permission, I discovered that it was downloaded without requesting it and that it erased itself or disappeared in a minute. I want to make it clear that I didnt install the APK, but the fact that it disappeared / deleted by itself made me worry a lot. I suppose that the system itself could be the one that was deleting it but I downloaded another different and legitimate APK and it was not deleted. Therefore, there are only two options left, the apk is activated by itself without touching anything or the system detected that the apk was malicious and deleted it. My mobile is a redmi note 9 pro, it was not rooted, it was new one, to avoid problems I have decided to do a factory reset, but I am still worried about whether the virus is still there. I also analyzed the virus with virustotal, here I leave the analysis https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/2778fb84d1db7bb27792cf3588090c76c0f8007cdcd89af3e00dd23deaed52b4/detection I insist that I didnt install the APK, is my phone in danger? the factory reset is enough?, Should I flash it to avoid the problem as much as possible Thank you very much for your attention and answers And sorry for my bad english [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 Mar 2021 09:37 AM PDT I need a camera phone for my mom who takes a lot of photos and browses facebook and stuff but she rarely plays any heavy games. | Any way to access settings through restrictive launcher? Posted: 21 Mar 2021 08:15 AM PDT Hello I have a Chinese brand car that comes with an android based head unit. Issue is, it's stuck with a very restrictive and unintuitive launcher that only gives you very limited access. Once i was prompted to update one of the apps and gained access to the android settings but couldn't do much there so i know i can get there somehow, i tried resetting it in hopes of triggering the update and trying again but it didn't work, any ideas on how i can forcibly open the settings otherwise? Nav keys are hidden in this launcher so no task manager to work with. Thank you in advance. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 21 Mar 2021 07:50 AM PDT Hi. I've got a friend that I have sent some game files to that can be used with EasyRPG. The friend is currently quarantined in the military and has no access to a PC, so I've sent them a .zip file containing it, however the zip file contains files that have japanese letters in them and they have to be preserved else it won't work. After extracting the game files with ZArchiver instead of japanese names they turned into this. So I am coming here to ask if there's any unzipping software that can unzip files containing japanese names? Or is there some more convoluted way of doing this? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
