Posted: 14 Feb 2021 04:09 AM PST I posted this to r/GooglePixel earlier and it just got downvoted. Are folk actually okay with this? These type of ads just started popping up on my Pixel 3 XL. https://i.imgur.com/cChL0gu.png I'm not even anywhere near London for goodness sake. The feed seems like such a fundamental part of the interface of the device. They might as well throw ads in the notification tray as well while they're at it. I genuinely don't understand how having these large obnoxious ads (or any ads in the feed) can be okay, especially given that it's already Google hardware. I already purchased this device from Google, and they presumably already track users' browsing habits from using the feed anyway, so why the ads on top as well. [link] [comments]

Samsung is taking Android Updates seriously Posted: 14 Feb 2021 11:49 AM PST We kept hearing about how they are committing to 3 major OS updates but 2 days ago I have experienced it first hand and I must say I am very impressed. I have access to 3 recent Galaxy devices in my household.
On February 11th all 3 devices have received the February patch along with a performance/bug fix software update. I initially checked my device and just asked my friend and his dad to check their phones without expecting that they would have an update ready but they did. All 3 devices are unlocked bought straight from Samsung.com [link] [comments]

Why do you think ASOP killed call Recording? Posted: 14 Feb 2021 06:39 AM PST The best answer I can come up with is that they want to eliminate any possibility if being dragged into a lawsuit in cases where someone did not follow applicable wiretapping laws. ...Back when I worked at RadioShack, we had a microphone you could suction cup to the back of a phone to pickup the other party and your device. I sold one to a lady in Texas, with her lawyer present, because her Husband/BF was verbally abusing her over the phone. That was legit use if phone recording in a single-party consent state. I also was involved in a lawsuit where a company wrongfully withheld my last Paycheck, which violated Federal & State laws. I needed to LEGALLY record calls as eviden (single-party consent state), but I couldn't because in updating my Android version, AOSP officially turned off the work-around apps like ACR utilized. What are your thoughts? P.S. If anyone else is tired of Android STILL having no call recording, please Star this issue & make your voice heard: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/176344057 [link] [comments]

We need a good video recording on Android for third-party apps like Instagram, Snapchat...etc Posted: 14 Feb 2021 12:32 PM PST Android cameras have evolved a lot, It's a shame that third-party apps can't take advantage of their full potential. [link] [comments]
What's your favorite custom ROM? Posted: 14 Feb 2021 02:10 AM PST I didn't use that many ROMs, but I think my favorite is crDroid. It has just the right amount of features imo. Also Resurrection Remix because it has a shit ton of features, more than any ROM I've used. [link] [comments]
