Posted: 02 Jan 2021 05:31 AM PST Hello I am thinking about getting Google TV and I have a question before buying it. I already have Chromecast Ultra 4K at home, do I need full set or only remote controller? This is the remote Sprachfernbedienung für Chromecast mit Google TV – Google Store and this is whole set Chromecast mit Google TV – Google Store [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Jan 2021 03:17 AM PST Hey :) Recently I tried setting up a VPN (NordVPN) on our Xiaomi Mi Smart TV 4S with Android TV, mainly to watch the BBC iPlayer content for my girlfriend. I ran into the problem that apparently there is quite a lot of DNS leakage with the TV (it works fine on the Windows PC and her IPad). I tried manually setting the DNS servers to the ones from NordVPN, but even that didn't resolve the issue. I also gave the ExpressVPN trial a go, but the result was the same. Has anyone suggestions what to try? It's not just the iPlayer, Netflix also only shows local content even when we are connected to a US or UK server. Thanks for your help and happy new year :) [link] [comments]

How do I make google assistant stop responding verbally? Posted: 02 Jan 2021 08:27 AM PST On my Chromecast with Google TV, some things that I say into the Google Assistant always elicit a verbal response. For example, if I say, "open prime video," it verbally responds, "Got it. Launching Prime Video on the family room tv." I don't want it to say anything out loud. I have searched through all settings in Google TV and in my Google account. [link] [comments]
JBL link bar factory reset without remote Posted: 02 Jan 2021 07:59 AM PST Hi all, My parents bought a JBL link bar. Unfortunately, they encountered problems on the first day of using it. I set up the link bar, everything seemed fine. However, a bit later the soundbar stopped responding to the remote. I did some troubleshooting, and I think the bluetooth stopped working on the link bar. When I press the button, it doesn't light up. It does turn on, and I get an image on the tv. When I press the bluetooth button, it does go to the pairing screen. However, the remote won't pair. I also can't connect to it using a phone. I think it needs a factory reset. Does anybody know how I can reset it without the remote? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Grey dotted lines and other problems after F/W upgrade on Philips 65OLED854/12 Posted: 01 Jan 2021 05:59 PM PST Hi! Not able to contact tech support for the next 2 days, so just checking in here if any one of you seen anything alike: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcW1AVORRtQ This happened after I updated to the latest update and now all things are haywire. This grey dot flickering (not static but dynamic), ambilight has turned off and the TV just feels slow and sluggish. I've tried "Reinstall TV" but it doesn't fix anything. Also plugged in/out the power cord few times. Does anyone have any experience downgrading F/W on any recent Philips models or a way to do an even harder reset of it? [link] [comments]
Looking for recommendations | sub-$100USD Posted: 02 Jan 2021 07:36 AM PST I'm relatively new to the world of Android TV boxes and have heard that the top dog right now is the NVIDIA Shield TV Pro but I was looking to see if there are recommendations worth considering under $100USD. My needs are:
P.S. I apologize in advance if this question has been asked but I didn't see any recent results via searching. [link] [comments]
Google TV setup without CEC support question? Posted: 01 Jan 2021 11:33 PM PST Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me setup the tv control buttons on my Google TV remote. I had this working for a while, until I convinced them to switch from Cable to YouTube TV as I was already paying for it. The issue is without the old cable box I am now unable to get the tv to turn on or adjust volume with the remote.... My parents tv is a older LCD from RCA (LED50B45RQ) and the previous tv provider was Dish with their Hopper box. I believe the Hopper box was relaying the IR codes from the Google TV remote to then turn on the TV. Without it plugged in now I am unable to get the Google TV to preform the actions. I have deleted the RCA tv profile and tried reconnecting it within the Google TV's settings for Remotes. However, the Volume, Power, and Input buttons will not program now. I was just curious if anyone knows any other ways to try to get this to work? Is their a manual code input way to add a tv? Or a way to make google try different codes until it works? Or am I unfortunately dead outta luck here? If anyone has any advice it will be appreciated. I know it's a first world problem and my parents can still use their other remote to control the tv without issue. Just was hoping to make it easier for them. They love the system so much that they will keep it either way. But I know they get annoyed having to find the other remote to turn something up and down. Especially if it gets lost. Posted: 01 Jan 2021 10:32 PM PST Interested in buying this since it is official android tv and Google certified. Can live without netflix certification but am wondering if this has vulkan for games which I only intend for testing some games with. Also, is there frame rate switching or hdmi passthrough? Also, is the remote better than MiBox? Had the MiBox and currently have a shield but have a generic chinese box in my bedroom which has been flakey as of late. [link] [comments]
Need to show slideshow on my computer monitori Posted: 01 Jan 2021 04:01 PM PST I want to convert a monitor to a digital photo frame, so far I have decided to use Chromecast to cast Google photos on it. My doubt is that can I use mi tv box to read from an external pen drive? [link] [comments]
Can I use my webcam's microphone for voice search? Posted: 01 Jan 2021 08:17 AM PST My Horizon android TV has the voice search function but the remote doesn't have a mic and there's no mic remote compatible with this TV. I have an old Logitech webcam lying around and I tried connecting it to the TV - I installed Google duo to test it and the video works fine so it detects the webcam. I don't understand if I can use the webcam as a mic or not, it doesn't appear there's a setting for it anywhere and the TV doesn't detect any voice when doing a voice search. Is there anything I can do? [link] [comments]
Hisense built in Android TV has poor video quality Posted: 01 Jan 2021 12:28 PM PST I have a new Hisense H6510G Android TV, and if I play any streaming content (Disney plus, Netflix, etc), it just doesn't look as good as if I'm playing the same content on a external device such as an Xbox or even an external Chromecast I hooked up to it. It's like motion on the built in apps looks really juddery and not smooth at all. But those issues are gone when viewing on anything other than the built in android tv apps. What's causing this? I'm pretty sure I've messed with all the settings, but maybe I'm overlooking something. I'm about to just buy a new Chromecast with google TV for it and never use the internal built in apps. No one streaming app installed on my Sony android TV doesn't work Posted: 01 Jan 2021 06:04 PM PST Hi guys, I need some assistance. For a while, I watch movies with some apps for direct video streaming ( like Stremio). But now I have a problem with all streaming apps like Youtube, Kodi, etc. I am already checked:
So I concluded, that problem is apparently with Sony TV. If someone already faced a similar problem, please give me an advice. Thanks [link] [comments]
How to by pass old LG TV error messages Posted: 01 Jan 2021 09:36 AM PST My auntie gave me an old LG Android TV out of her storage that didn't have a power cord or remote. I managed to find a power cord and I have a universal remote already so I was gonna use this tv to replace my much older one. However I cannot seem to get past these error messages to just get to the HDMI inputs. (Will be using for Switch & Chromecast with Google TV). Does anyone know if it's possible to get past these on an old unsupported android TV or should I toss it out? I've linked pics to the errors I'm getting Thanks folks. [link] [comments]

Chromecast or Mi Stick, which has the longer range? Posted: 01 Jan 2021 10:27 AM PST So I have a Gen 1 chromecast and I think either something is wrong with it or the shared wifi signal in my apartment is too weak because it often connects for like 30 seconds and then disconnects from the network. Either way, I'm getting a new casting device and I'm wondering which would be better at receiving my apartment's shared wifi considering the wifi extender is quite far. [link] [comments] |
