    Continue Watching Only Shows Disney+

    Posted: 27 Jan 2021 06:56 AM PST

This is on the new Chromecast device, BUT also I've noticed on my older Android TV devices the 'Play Next' now shows ONLY Disney+ content no matter what I have installed.

‘Plex Arcade’ streams your classic video games to Android, Chrome, Android TV

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 04:16 PM PST

Just installed my Chromecast with Google TV. Quick question: why is my “For you” section still displaying Disney+ movies? I do not have a subscription and I have deleted it from “Your apps” (visible in my first picture). Any way to get it to stop suggesting movies and shows on apps I don’t have?

    What’s best suited to seniors?

    Posted: 27 Jan 2021 07:51 AM PST

Does anyone have any recommendations for a smart tv best suited for older people that are not tech-savvy? I am trying to figure out what kind of smart tv is best, and if I should also gift a Google TV chrome cast? The goal is to keep things simple and connect them to steaming content that they have never had access to. Thanks!

Use Google TV without a Google Account

    Posted: 27 Jan 2021 06:31 AM PST

    Hello !

I'm considering buying the new Chromecast with Google TV but I was wondering if it can be used without a Google account ? I do not have nor want to create a Google account and I never had any problems with Chromecasts or Android phones so far.

Would I be able to use an alternate store such as AuroraStore for exemple ?

    Thanks for the answers !

CCGTV annoying "No connection" problem without soft reset

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 08:10 PM PST

There are few post in the line of this issue, however, the cause of the problem hasn't been figured out. This occurs out of no where, I wish I was able to find device's system log that help to identify the problem. Btw, would debugging via adb devices would work, did anyone try it

I have ruled out that my connection has nothing to do with the problem. since, I have access on internet with other devices. I have static connection on the Ccgtv setup

The suggestion other has made, whether the ipv6 disabled or set to prioritize through Qos

Any idea on when google might release update to resolve the problem. the last update was in September, I have seen others having similar issue. the only solution I see there is to reset, even then I feel it can be hit or miss

Why is content that is available to me for free on an app I have signed into on Google TV either not displaying or is displaying as being offered for purchase via Google TV? I.e. I have Crave and have access to Euphoria, yet it is still coming up on my Google TV as something I need to purchase.

[Mi Box S] Why Is SBM Share Slower Than Netflix?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 12:49 PM PST

Hi, I have a Mi Box S connected to WiFi, as well as a PC. For some reason, when watching videos from an SMB share on my PC, I experience plenty of buffering. At first, I thought it had something to do with connection speeds, but in fact Netflix videos buffer very fast.

Is there something I'm missing? Maybe the Netflix videos are significantly more compressed?

    Thanks!

Google Duo on Nokia Streaming Box 8000 with Logitech C920, image flipped horizontally during call

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 10:09 PM PST

Plugged the webcam to my new Nokia Streaming Box 8000 running Android TV 10, Google Duo works fine - can call people through my TV while sitting on a couch with just the remote, it's super nice, we can see and hear each other, the audio is fine, the video is almost OK...

Except... my video feed gets flipped horizontally (mirrored left-to-right) for others. I personally see myself not flipped on screen (the opposite to what happens when connecting from a laptop: others see me normally, I see myself flipped then).

Cannot find any settings neither in Duo nor the system settings to disable this flipping.

FWIW, the Camera app (com.android.camera2, built-in, shows up in Apps when the webcam gets plugged in) also seems to mirror the image, so it might not be a Duo problem, but an Android TV 10 or Nokia SB8000 problem...

The same webcam plugged to my other Android TV device (a Nebula Capsule II) running Android TV 9 works fine, no weird flipping in Duo. Though a 200 lumen pocket projector + webcam is just not the right setup for video calling, especially wrt lighting...

Any ideas how to fix this? I want my left side to be my left side and my right side to be my right side during calls... :)

Android TV on rpi4 working with TV Hat?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 02:03 PM PST

So I've got myself an rpi4b 8gb and loaded lineage OS Android 10 TV rom onto it, it runs decent, streaming apps work well on it with my remote, I've attached the TV HAT onto it now, and I'm just wondering if there is anyway to get this working using this rom somehow? If so how or where do you think I could find out how to do this?

ARC support for Element E4STA5517 (TU43GDX) Android TV

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 10:24 AM PST

I cannot get ARC to work on my Element Android TV. ARC is labeled on HDMI 2 but there is no options, that I can find, in the Android TV settings to enable it. It's Android 7.1.2

My whole goal is to get 4k through my Chromecast Ultra on the tv and send the audio signal via HDMI to my receiver. I have a Yamaha RX-V367. I am currently running an optical cable to the receiver from the TV and it sounds terrible compared to HDMI.

    TV App Repo HTTPS HELP

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 03:13 PM PST

With tv app repo you can create a apk that it visible on android tv, it can make two different apks for different tasks one for installing a shortcut to open a different apk for the purpose of making a visable banner for sideloaded apks the other function is that it can open a https link in a browser window from a shortcut/banner on the Home Screen! I am trying to find a way to put these two functions together, I would like a single apk that can open a linked apk and also send a https get request silently instead of opening a browser

    https://github.com/ITVlab/TvAppRepo/releases/tag/1.1.4

Can any body make me a template I could edit and build with android studio? Or aware of any apps that can do this? I am VERY new to this and could do with some help please

Wondering about watching youtube gamer videos

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 10:12 AM PST

I recently got an android tv or is it googletv dongle thing and I like to watch a lot gamers stream on youtube. Whenever I watch them stream games the picture is always distorted and there is a green line the runs through the video. Now I tried it with other videos I like to watch on youtube as well and they look fine. I am wondering if its my tv or the google tv that I bought. Im just so confused by it. All the other apps work perfectly too that I use but once I look at youtubers playing video games the picture gets distorted.
