Posted: 19 Jan 2021 06:31 AM PST I've read somewhere that using a torrent streaming app is bad due to being constantly writing and deleting data multiple times and because memory chips have a limited number of times they can be written to, torrent streaming eats into that. Is this a legit concern that I should have? If so, how can I decrease the risk of messing up my TV? I've been using Stremio for quite some time, but I never heard about this until now. | Posted: 19 Jan 2021 06:27 AM PST So I've been using my built in android player on my Sony Bravia to stream my IPTV and finally have realized that seems to be the cause of buffering after thinking it was my internet speed. My question is- is it worth it to buy a Nvidia Tube over the Firestick 4K? I would only be using it to stream my IPTV service. I don't mind spending the extra money if it's actually worth it but would rather not if the firestick will suffice. [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 18 Jan 2021 08:11 PM PST My shows I am watching on prime are not showing on the 'Continue Watching' section of the Google TV home screen (Chromecast with Google TV) Also very inconsistent with YouTube TV showing there. For example it shows a movie I was watching a week ago but doesn't show games I am in the middle of watching? Any insight appreciated if this is as expected or something not working as it should be. | Posted: 19 Jan 2021 06:58 AM PST Obviously I have a MiBox S and I bought a NYKO wireless core controller (gamepad) but I can't make it work. I connect the controller to the Mi box via BT (pairing) but no reaction to the gamepad after that. Even the games recognize only the TV remote and not the gamepad. | Posted: 18 Jan 2021 02:35 PM PST Sony A1E glitch Hey guys, first time poster here. I'm stumped. While watching tv earlier today, my Sony A1E flashed the Sony logo and then turned off. I thought maybe it was a panel refresh, so I let it be for a couple of hours. I came back to try and turn it back but it wasn't responding to any commands. It's hooked up to a Denon AVR, so sound was still coming through, but no picture. I unplugged the tv from the wall and waited before plugging it back in. It clicked and then the Sony logo appeared and then it went back to black screen. I find it off because there were no prompts for a panel refresh and I know it doesn't do it automatically. Plus, the LED indicator light underneath the panel was not lighting up. I reached out to a couple of my friends who are still in the business (A/V repair) and they theorized that it could be on OS issue. I did recently update it with the latest software a couple of weeks ago. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is there a glitch with Sony's latesAndroid OS? Thanks in advance! Posted: 18 Jan 2021 12:44 PM PST Hi, I'm increasingly finding that after switching apps, the audio (from NVidia Shield) switches down to very low quality (and starts crackling). The first fix was to reboot, but I've since discovered that changing the display resolution also fixes the issue. Any thoughts on a fix? [link] [comments] | ||

Usually I see the information about the asset when I query status via HomeAssistant. I don't see anything with Disney+ besides that the app is open. Does anyone know how to do it? | Posted: 18 Jan 2021 09:31 PM PST So I just got a new iPhone which gave me 1 year of Apple TV+ for free which is great, but there isn't an app. After researching, it looks like it's only available on some models (which seems silly because why couldn't it work?), and my model doesn't have that new airplay update that unlocked "dormant" airplay capabilities. I have the XBR-55x800E. I was able to sideload it but as soon as it opens, it says that "this app is no longer compatible with you tv, please perform a software update." I go to do an update, and it says the tv is up to date. I also tried to download a bunch of different AirPlay apps but the videos never load or I get error. Anyone have any success or suggestions? There is only the Micro USB port on this device and unless my Google searches are betraying me, I have been able to find an obvious Micro USB hub or splitters that are USB 3.0. So my question for you guys is, can you tell me if it's possible to expand the ports on this device with USB 3 speeds for LAN and Storage (flash drive)? Everytime I use the soundbar to watch Netflix (any streaming service including YouTube), it become black for a second, the tv is giving me the HDR notification and is is fine. If a preview is play on let's say Netflix, it flicker again. When the video stop, it flicker again. It's as if everytime a content is played, my tv is confuse, and so am I.
