| Does the Android calculator have a repeat function? Posted: 16 Jan 2021 06:07 AM PST Hi! On every other calculator that I've ever used you could type a sum like "2xx2=", the answer is 4 of course, but then you could repeat press the = button to get, 8, 16, 32, , , , This doesn't work on the Android calculator, does anyone know another way to do it or is it just not possible? | Posted: 16 Jan 2021 11:31 AM PST My Phone's Total Space is 128GB. It says that Photos and Videos is taking up 71.7GB off that. (System Memory: 19.7GB) But when I checked My Files, it's only showing a total of 161MB Photos and 465MB Videos. Is there anyone who knows why it's showing 71.7GB while I aonly have less than 1GB? 😱🙉🙈🙊 [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 16 Jan 2021 11:15 AM PST Just wanted to know some things before using smart switch to transfer my data from one phone to another . When should I put the sim card from the old device to the new one , before or after the switch since I only have one . Is it possible that my data can get copied to a device that I don t know about while connecting the phones . By that I mean can a third device receive the data being transferred without me knowing , I know this is a stupid question but I m super paranoid and very scared of data being taken without knowing . Is it possible that my data can get deleted while being copied . [link] [comments] |
| What folders do you most commonly use? Looking for new name suggestions Posted: 16 Jan 2021 07:04 AM PST Here's my first drawer. I feel I could consolidate them more efficiently but looking for outside opinions. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 16 Jan 2021 10:38 AM PST Hello all, I am currently running Android 8.0 on an S9+ My phone has downloaded a newer system update version, and keeps giving me a full screen prompt to install it. However that update will screw up an app I have, so I do not want to install the update. I'm just trying to figure out where the update file is located so I can delete it, with the assumption that when the file is gone the phone should stop prompting since I have disabled downloading of future updates. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
| What is thus app called "USB-C headset" and why is it installed on my phone? (Samsung S20) Posted: 15 Jan 2021 10:09 PM PST So I saw this installed app called USB-C Headset that was installed on my phone. I don't remember ever installing it, and it is from the galaxy store, which I have never downloaded anything from. Is there a way to remove it? I can't see the setting in the Galaxy store. I own USB-C earbuds that came with the phone, could it be firmware for it or something? [link] [comments] |
| Question about backing up and transferring data from one phone to another . Posted: 16 Jan 2021 09:30 AM PST Hello everyone , long post ahead . So I recently decided to get a new phone and ended up getting the Samsung galaxy A51 . I previously had a samsung galaxy A20e . So I unboxed the phone , logged into my google and samsung accounts and was ready to use it . But I have a lot of data from the old phone that I want to bring to the new one , mainly photos . But I don t know how to . I watched some videos and the main ways are using Smart switch , samsung cloud and google drive . I don t mind downloading old apps to the new phone manually but I really want to bring the photos with me . So I wanted to ask what is the best way to do so . Which method is the safest and best for that . Also I have never used samsung cloud or google drive before so I m new to that too . Also a quick question about the sim card . When should I put the sim card in the new phone . I still haven t put the sim card in the new phone , it s still on my old device . Should I put my sim card before or after transferring the data . | iPad, will I have issues being an android user? Posted: 16 Jan 2021 05:13 AM PST Basically, my laptop has broken and realised I can pretty much replace most of my use with a tablet. I had a Nexus 7 years ago that's obviously too slow these days. Android tablets aren't really competitive. Will I have issues running an android phone and an apple tablet? Wondering if somebody could share their experiences. Thanks :) [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 16 Jan 2021 10:12 AM PST Hey everyone, so I just dropped my phone in the water a couple of days back (4 to be exact), and the phone worked for a while until the screen started flickering and it finally died out. I bought a new one in the meantime but there are a lot of photos that I just can't seem to live without on the old one. After searching the web for hours there are only two solutions it finally comes to around-
is there any way that I could maybe pull my old pictures off ? The phone just wont turn on now, it's a motorola g5 plus, 2017 Any help or advice would be much appreciated folks. [link] [comments] |
| How do i disable multi-app screen mode? Posted: 16 Jan 2021 06:19 AM PST a couple days ago i started getting "forced" to go into multi window mode, without any intentional actions to do so on my part, i am on an S10. i don't see anything in settings for "multi" or for "split" anyone have any advice for how to turn this off or at the very least not be forced into using it when switching between apps? | How to stop public wifi hotspots from launching captive portals automatically? Posted: 15 Jan 2021 11:20 PM PST When I pass by a public hotspot with wifi on, it automatically launches a captive portal on my phone (Android 9, Zenfone 5), without asking if I want to connect to it first. I often unlock the screen after a while and find several opened login pages on Chrome, or a portal rudely launches while I'm using another app. It's annoying as hell. [link] [comments] |
| Is "Package installer" only for uninstalling apps? Posted: 16 Jan 2021 02:12 AM PST I have noticed that the "package installer" on my Samsung S20 only uninstalls things. Alao in the notification settings it shows that it can only notify you when you uninstall an app. Can the "Package Installer" actually install things or no? [link] [comments] |
| How to get persistent blinking notifications on my Galaxy S20 without requiring AOD? Posted: 16 Jan 2021 09:21 AM PST Hey everyone, Can you recommend way to get blinking notifications to show up on my Galaxy S20? I am looking for a solution to get me the following: 1)LED/Camera/Edge should blink whenever I receive a new notification 2)Notification should display WITHOUT me having enable Always on Display (to preserve battery) 3)Notification should continue to blink indefinitely until I clear the notification This has been the standard on all my android phones up until now. In all my research I am unable to find a solution that has these charactistics. Most Hacks/Apps either do not keep blinking (e.g. Edge lighting will just notify you once then stop) or require Always On Display (apps like AOD Notify). [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 16 Jan 2021 09:08 AM PST Hi I have recently switched from iPhone to a Google pixel. During the time with my iPhone I switched to icloud as my main email. I currently have a Google account though. I was wondering if it was possible to create a new gmail address and tie it to my current Google account. Or change my gmail address on my Google account. If not is there a way to migrate all my data to a new Google gmail address/account. I'm not sure If this subreddit is for questions like this. But any help and advice is appreciated. | Posted: 16 Jan 2021 09:03 AM PST I think my grandmother installed a virus on her phone and everything I am trying is not working. Currently the phone won't go past the lock screen and its booting off and restarting constantly. Recovery mode keeps booting up and saying: "Your phone couldn't start normally. Some configuration of data may be corrupt. Follow the steps below". I've tried restarting and booting safe mode, and it wont go past the lockscreen still. Do I just try hard reset the phone? Apologies if this is the wrong place but I'm losing my mind. [link] [comments] |
| Is it possible to remove "conversations" notification category? Posted: 16 Jan 2021 08:31 AM PST I hate how on pixel 5 all my notification are split into conversations/notification/silent, and especially that sometimes messages from same app get split into different groups. Is it possible to disable globally, instead of going into individual notification and marking it at not conversation? [link] [comments] |
| My videos get automatically split while recording Posted: 16 Jan 2021 07:37 AM PST I'm using a s10+ and recording some vids with my front camera which are all more than 20min long but while recording after 8 minutes the video automatically gets split into another file and the recording continues. This basically causes my video to split into 3 parts if it's 20min and i am forced to combine the videos via an app. How can i fix this so that i can record and not get interrupted? Thank you [link] [comments] |
| SMS messages say sending failed but some of them go through? Not all of them though. Posted: 16 Jan 2021 06:59 AM PST I'm having trouble with sending SMS messages as the title says. It comes up with sending failed, but sometimes it will still go through to the recipient. How can I fix this? I've tried clearing the storage and cache, and I've tried two other SMS apps. Phone is a Google Pixel 2, Android 11. [link] [comments] |

| Moto G Pro playback is awful, any ideas? Posted: 16 Jan 2021 04:57 AM PST Why is my video playback on my Moto G Pro (stylus) so bad?! It's extremely laggy/choppy and makes videos unwatchable. It's a brand new phone and Motorola say it's just an app issue but I disagree as it happens on every single app aside from YouTube including the photos app. The playback issue happens on all apps (WhatsApp/Instagram/Facebook/even the camera app on the phone) and the only app it doesn't have an issue with is YouTube. It's not a wifi issue as I can view them perfectly on my old iPhone which is on the same network... factory reset also doesn't help. Any ideas? This is my first android in 10 years and I'm already thinking about going back to Apple... [link] [comments] |
| Are the recommended ad blockers in Samsung Internet safe? Posted: 16 Jan 2021 12:56 AM PST I was going through the settings for Samsung internet, and I saw 2 things of interest. 1 is the addons, and I have none installed. 2, is the ad blockers. It says that I have no ad blockers installed, but there are a bunch of recommended ad blockers below, and below that text there is a list of ad blockers. Are they safe for me to download and browse with? I have never heard of any of them before. [link] [comments] |
